SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

I am a new member to Mumsnet and a big fan of SW! I have lost 2st 7lbs so far, still got loads to go. I know it inside out and can share loads of info, tips and recipes if anyone needs to know!

I cannot attend a class but use lifelineonline to record my weight loss and use syns online etc, does anyone happen to know the password?? My usual SW attendee did not go this week!

Thanks loads

lurcherlass · 27/09/2006 19:59

hello Ledo, Thanks for the tip, I have not seen the Cumberland variety, but will be looking for them tomorrow. I found some Quorn Mexican Quarter pounders, which are gorgeous, but I'm not sure if they carry any syns, can anyone confirm?
Welcome Rhysmiamum, I'm sure you will find this forum freindly and supportive- I look forward to picking your brains! X

ledodgyrobespierre · 27/09/2006 22:10

Woohoo I lost 2.5 pounds tonight so thats 1 stone 1 and 1/2 pounds in 5 weeks! I'm now on the red wine as I never count Wednesday nights lol. My leader said something interesting tonight though ...I tend to avoid any processed foods apart from baked beans and quorn sausages and she reckons that's why i've lost weight faster than others she said although some processed foods are free your body can handle none processed better which speeds up your weight loss so this may be worth thinking about.

ledodgyrobespierre · 27/09/2006 22:10

Oh yes and the slimming world online password this week is rocket.

mooshy · 27/09/2006 22:13

Are quorn sausages a healthy extra, sin or free ?
Still trying to get into it and first weigh in in the morning.

ledodgyrobespierre · 27/09/2006 22:15

quornm sausages are free on a green day.

ledodgyrobespierre · 27/09/2006 22:15

*quorn even lol

SherlockLGJ · 27/09/2006 22:20

mooshy · 27/09/2006 22:21

ledodgyrobespierre · 27/09/2006 22:31

LOL i'm on the red too (doesn't count cos it's wednesday night) and 2 glasses has left me feeling pissed , I don't have wine often doing sw.

rhysmiamum · 28/09/2006 11:25

Just weighed myself at the vets and I have lost exactly one kilogram, as was pointed out, one yorkshire terrier puppy LOL I was very pleased because I am still getting to grips with SW and have eaten several things I believed to be free, which had syns (some innocent looking noodles, "light ribena" and so on). Thanks for the tips and suggestions, much appreciated everyone. I know what you mean with the wine Ledo, a little goes a long way when you're not used to it anymore!
I'm on holiday next week, but in a self catering cottage with Tescos 20 mins away, so there should be no excuse- here's hoping......

Expectantmum · 28/09/2006 17:23

Someone mentioned on here the other day some sausages are free - does anyone know which or is it just the quorn ones?

ledodgyrobespierre · 28/09/2006 17:51

It's just quorn sausages that are free afaik although i've heard the walls half fat sausages are low syn.

I'm having a hangover dinner tonight of quorn sausages, syn free chips and mushy peas.

ledodgyrobespierre · 28/09/2006 18:24

OMG I so enjoyed that dinner it was fab. I sprinkled a tiny bit of a beef bovril cube (about 3/4 of a syn the amount I used) on the chips before they went in the oven and it makes a world of difference to the taste and the mushy peas were lovely I haven't had them for years. I feel like i've been to the chippy and can't believe i'm on a diet!

Expectantmum · 28/09/2006 19:05

I am just having Batchelors Golden Vegetable rice with a tin of Asda Vegetable Curry and it is gorgeous!! Could do with a glass of vino to be honest but that will have to wait til I get home from work unfortunately. I know there is just a little bit at the bottom of the bottle (if its still there when I get home!)

lurcherlass · 28/09/2006 19:41

A tin of Asda vegetable curry sounds nice- how many syns?

rhysmiamum · 28/09/2006 20:22

Walls low fat sausages are 1 syn for lean pork and 0.5 syn for Mediterranean style. Both are not bad.....Mediterranean is quite spicy.

rhysmiamum

lurcherlass · 28/09/2006 20:47

thanks! they sound nice. I just can't get to like the Quorn ones, even if they are free. The Quorn Mexican quarter pounders are really tasty.
I reckon it must be the texture I don't like.I would rather spend a few syns on something I like the taste of, so thanks for the advice re the Walls. I presume it's one syn per sausage and not per pack (ever hopeful!)x

JJoanneuk · 28/09/2006 23:29

Lurcher lass . all I can find on the website is the canned asda vegetable curry ( smartprice 392g) is showing that its 1.5 syns on a green day , hope that helps
