SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

Thought I'd put this in another post....

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just been and booked a wedding/ holiday in Malta for August next year! I am soooooo excited!

This is my second marriage (and my fiance's) and our last might we add! I know I will be with my husband-to-be forever...he is perfect for me. Sorry...will stop gushing now as you'll all be running for buckets!

It's just going to be low key (5 star hotel ) and just my mum and dad are going. They are great fun and wanted to be there, bless.

I'm just waiting for final confirmation of the actual date but think it will be the 3rd August - shall keep you all posted (hopefully you'll want to know!).

Anyway, if this hasn't given me an incentive to lose those extra pounds then nothing will!

congratulations Roo, thats fantastic. real incentive to carry on and lose weight. Can we all be virtual bridesmaids, which will give us all the incentive to lose weight too.
BHM your veg stew sounds delicious, I think I might make some to put me back on track tomorrow. For today I have made some Butternut squash soup. The children love it and its a free food.
Good luck to all with their weight losses.

Rooicosta · 02/12/2006 13:06

Thanks girls for your lovely posts! I like the idea of the virtual bridesmaids Supermum!!

BHM, I've not had the best of weeks this week either - far too much wine and bicces! Getting back on plan now though (or trying!). Go out and enjoy your curry, you'll have a fab time if it's the first time out in a year!!

Thanks for the rose Firefly!

Wow Strawberry - I think Congratulations to you too are in order!!!

supermumintraining · 02/12/2006 14:57

woow strawberry. that is amazing. how much weight have you lost to go down 2 dress sizes?
I too am a size 22 and I want to be a 14. Seems like it will take ages.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 02/12/2006 19:13

i have 'only' lost a stone!!! but i have been doing marathons worth of walking with a double buggy, so i think i have been toning up lots too!...i couldnt quite believe it and the coat i bought!! im gunna wear with the tag hanging out of the back!!!....ill be shopping at topshop and miss selfridges next

i was so shocked but pleased and have had new outfit on tonight when dp took me and dd for a celebratory meal(my meal was very good, but the chocolate cheese cake wasnt)

StrawberrySnowflakes · 02/12/2006 19:15

thing is...this time, my boobs havent shrank....yet!!!
dp looked very proud when i was throwing the 'bigger' clothes back out and showing him the gap between me and them

lurcherlass · 03/12/2006 11:31

Well done Strawberry!! It's funny but my boobs havent decreased either. Every diet I've ever been on before, they were the "first to go". I think not only should you dangle your 16 tag with pride, but have a t-shirt made up that says SIZE 16 AND SHRINKING...

StrawberrySnowflakes · 03/12/2006 11:43

my firend said to me today.."oh i like your coat2..me: "thanks ..its a size 16"!!!!!!!!!!!!..she jsut laughed, she knows im losing weight and knows how loopy i ma

supermumintraining · 03/12/2006 17:10

well done straweberry. wear the coat with pride. look out top shop !!! just think by christmas you could be in a 14!!!

I too am desperate for my boobs to go down. tey enter a room 5 minutes before me and my bum enter 5 minutes after me

Rooicosta · 03/12/2006 19:14

Ha Supermum, that made me smile! Surely that's every man's dream isn't it - big boobs and ass!?!

I hope mine DON'T go down, there's not loads there to begin with! Lol!

Keep shouting your dress size from the roof tops Strawb - everyone may think you are mad but with an achievement like that, who the hell cares?!!!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 03/12/2006 19:26

well i think it is a very generous size 16 and im in no illusion of getting into a topshop 14 anytime soon but anyway

i get weighed in morn..have not had a good weekend

Rooicosta · 03/12/2006 19:28

Me neither lol! Had McDonalds for lunch yesterday and an Indian takeaway in the evening!

Been good today though....so far!!!!!

Good luck for your weigh in - let us know how you get on

StrawberrySnowflakes · 03/12/2006 20:18

tiger8565 · 03/12/2006 20:19

HELP????

StrawberrySnowflakes · 03/12/2006 20:33

i am still wearing my 22's..once ive worn them more than few hours, they slip down past my belly button..am going to see if my mum can take them in as only bought 2 of same pair 6 wks ago!

worksforaliving · 03/12/2006 20:34

congratulations Roo. thats fabulous news. we will want photos you know...

weighed in on this morn with v. ropey week behind me to find had lost 1 1/2 pounds. . have been doing a lot of walking with 15lb dd in sling so maybe that has helped shift it. a stone still to go...
be really interested to know if anyone knows what to do with refried beans. would like to give them a try.

supermumintraining · 03/12/2006 20:40

if you can I try and put belts with my big clothes. If it gets to the stage that I may get arrested for indecent exposure, I buy some cheapy bits from tescos/asdas to see me through. Then again, i thought we were all treating ourselves when we lose 7lbs?

Hope you guys enjoyed your Macdonalds. I am craving it as DD and DS keep asking for it. Am trying to be "good" to make up for fridays blow out in a mexican restaurant. at least its just tomorrow until weigh in!!!

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 03/12/2006 23:13

parents

I was at my mums about 2 weeks ago, and she told me I looked great & you could really see the weightloss.. I was so pleased

That same day my FIL told me I had got my curves back (he's a nice man, not a pervert ) so this all boosted my confidence.
So today I went through my clothes & put on a denim skirt I hadn't worn since I had dd (5 yrs ago) and pulled on a pair of thick tights, a brown jumper & My new brown boots! My parents called in the evening time, my mum said she liked my skirt, even if it was a bit tight, & that I had a good "chunky" leg for tights... and were my boots wide fitting I then made them some tea, & she looked pointedly at my stomach and said "How's the diet going, oh don't tell me, you've put it all back on again?" I said "No, actually, this is the first time in ages I've been able to wear this skirt" My dad said "Why? did you need to grow back into it again?" In other words I had gained weight, and not lost it.

Feeling very sad and downhearted tonight, is it any wonder I was always a fat teen & only lost weight when I met my dh and gained confidence?

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 03/12/2006 23:15

The skirt is a size 14, I am normally a 16 & was always a 12 since 1998 when I got married, I was a 14 before that.... and the boots are a size 3, & not wide fitting... that's just the way my parents make me feel.... I am so angry at myself for letting them get to me!!!!
