SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

Hello

Can I ask any of you ladies if you know how many syns are in a panini? Just the actual panini roll, as I had plain chicken in it that I can count as a HE and some chilli sauce which I know the syns for I hope some of you know, as I don't want to go over my syns already, only got weighed on Wednesday!

xena · 18/11/2006 07:00

fff2 is that how you spell it panini? I couldn't find it in the syns online?

supermumintraining · 18/11/2006 15:22

cant find panini anywhere.
Does anyone know if I can count a yoghurt drink 100ml as a HE or does it have to be a syn?

supermumintraining · 18/11/2006 15:23

thanks fantastic Beth. When did you start SW?

ledodgychristmasjumper · 18/11/2006 20:37

Congrats on all the losses! I'm plaiing on drinking some wine tonight as am pissed off I can't go to the meet up I worked out a whole bottle of dry white is 24 syns so I still won't have had all my weekly syns so that's k isn't it? I've been on this diet for 12 weeks now and it's true that it does end up making you limit the amount you eat and feel more full. I find i'm naturally wanting smaller portions and today I forgot (yes forgot!) to have any lunch i'd have never have done that before!

BethAndHerBrood · 18/11/2006 21:13

Hi smit, I started s.w. in january '05. I lost nearly 3 stone for a holiday in the september, then soon after I got pg.(too much body magic!!) I had my baby in July, and am now firmly back on track!

Phew!! I bet you're sorry you asked now!!

BethAndHerBrood · 18/11/2006 21:25

And I'll just have a quick brag while I'm here - I bought a pair of size 16 jeans today, and I can get them on and fastened!! WooHoo!!! When I joined my jeans were a size 22

fireflyfairy2 · 18/11/2006 21:44

Beth!!!! WoW!!!! I think that's how you spell it... panini? Pannini?

I haven't been that good this week Might have a bit on this Wednesday But hopefully it won't be too bad if I knuckle down from tomorrow onwards.....

ledodgychristmasjumper · 18/11/2006 21:51

Beth I got size 16 jeans today too, from River Island! It's a brill feeling isn't it?

worksforaliving · 18/11/2006 23:04

BOO HOO. weighed by DH this morning and have stayed the same this week. bleahggh.
dh reminds me that when i last did SW and had just over a stone to lose (as now)that i would often lose one week and then stay the same for a bit before another loss but that eventually the weight comes off. trying to cling to that thought. anyone else had a similar experience while on SW?
well done to the size 16 girls!!

lurcherlass · 19/11/2006 15:49

I have lost 1 stone and 1LB, I am so pleased because although it has taken 2 and a half months, I have steadily lost a little each week and have not had any mad binges, like I used to, before starting SW. I think the best bit is being able to have anything you want, when I tried Rosemary Connelly, the first thing the consultant gave me, was a list of everything I COULDN'T eat. I am in a 16 trousers for the first time in years (I was a size 20 when I started). Well done everyone, keep it up.XX

ledodgychristmasjumper · 19/11/2006 15:57

Well Done lurcherlass that's brill.

I wish I hadn't drank a whole bottle of wine last night am feeling rather bloated today so i've just done my Davina McCall dvd to try and redeem myself. I also made myself syn free chips at around 11 pm last night to snack on. I really wanted to lose 3 pounds this week to get me into my next stone down but I doubt I will have now, am really going to kill it with the exercise until Wednesday weigh in!

supermumintraining · 20/11/2006 16:26

WOW I am so impressed with everyone,s successes.Certainly am feeling inspired. I go for my first weigh in tomorrow and am dreading it. I know I have been "good" but still, dont know.
Also my "leader" reminds me of the lady from Little Britain. Do all the clubs have a raffle and does the "leader" go round publicly asking how everyone did regardles of loss or gain and how they feel about it? I felt embarrassed and I wasnt even involved yet!!!

Mumbojumbo · 20/11/2006 21:39

Yay - 2.5lb off last week. Now down to 10st 10lbs. Another 10lbs off to get to target. I'm amazed I lost this week cos it was my birthday yesterday and dh took me out for lunch at Wagamama and I had champagne too!
Good luck to all this week!

lurcherlass · 20/11/2006 22:07

Well dome Mumbo, I havent been ten stone something since I was born!! Keep up the good work LOL

StrawberryMoon · 21/11/2006 08:36

StrawberryMoon · 21/11/2006 08:36

lurcherlass · 21/11/2006 13:20

Go StrawberryMoon, you can lose that 1 1/2LB in no time at all- get ready to celebrate!! Do you gals treat yourselves when you reach a milestone? What do you do, buy clothes, get drunk? tell us how you celebrate your achievments! Has anyone elses husband "not really noticed" how much weight they've lost? or is my DH the only one that seems blind to the fact that my wobbly bits are shrinking??

StrawberryMoon · 21/11/2006 17:19

my dp same, he asks every monday if ive not rang to tell him and says well done, but its kind of half arsed??? and then although when we argue he has before said things about my lard, he will go out at weekend and buy lots of chocs / sweeties????hmmm...men!

lurcherlass · 21/11/2006 18:08

StrawberryMoon · 21/11/2006 19:08

oooh have jsut made a big pan full of pasta and added low fat mayo mixed with tom sauce, water and viniger to make lowish fat dressing and chucked in some prawns..thats it!..gorgeous!..and have almost eaten full pan!

worksforaliving · 21/11/2006 22:22

i used to buy a new piece of underwear for every 1/2 stone lost, but have rather stopped doing that. must get back into the habit. it was lovely prancing around feeling all sexy and slim (even when i wasn't - just slimmer than i had been) in new undies. highly recommended. don't really want to get underwear now as am b/f-ing. any ideas what to get instead?

lurcherlass · 21/11/2006 22:41

How about a lovely kimono style silky robe or nightie, anything wrap around style, thats easy to get into (for baby I mean!) and that you can still enjoy when your boobs are your own again! or high heeled fluffy slippers, really impractical but girly, or a manicure. Mmm, thats what I'm having for my next 1/2 stone treat, manicure AND pedicure!

StrawberryMoon · 22/11/2006 08:43

oooohh..im missing out here..i dont treat myself to anything !!!..RIGHT!

supermumintraining · 22/11/2006 18:22

sounds like a great idea. if we dont treat ourselves nobody else will.

lost 3lbs this week. expected a little more as is my first weekk. one lady in the group has lost 17lbs in the first 3 weeks!!!
