SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

Hello, I am not doing SW yet, but may start it on Monday if I have not lost any weight with WW today. I have been with them 3 weeks and only lost a miserable 2.5 lbs. Without trawling through this thread could you please let me know what sort of weight loss you have had with SW and how long it has taken you to get there with it (if you don't mind me asking).

evansmummy · 20/10/2006 07:53

New password is LEMON

lunavix · 20/10/2006 09:06

3lb for me!! yippee.

This week I'm planning on eating very similar, using a few more syns (meant to use all 15 apparently as bf) and NO mcdonalds (yuk, only ate it cos of ds)

If I lose 2 I'll be chuffed.

lunavix · 20/10/2006 09:10

Nnoonoo - in my first week I've lost 3 pounds.

I lost 6 my first week with WW, I felt hungry all day every day (esp evenings when I'd used my days 16 points, and could eat nothing more! or if I'd pigged out and ate something BAD could eat nothing else - if on SW you eat something high on syns, you've still got your HE and free food!) BTW with WW I lost 12lb (didn't have a huge amount to lose though, was only 3lb off target but couldn't get there) and put it on again within 9 months of joining.

LemonTart · 20/10/2006 09:13

ok. After a small blip that turned into one massiv blip after summer hols I am back on it. Too embarrassed to go back to the meetings (haven?t been since Aug) so will try to lose a bt first and get back to pre hols weight and then go back. My stupid pride always gets in the way!!
I have been cooking all SW main meals - just pigging out on extras in between so just a matter of cutting out those little itty bitty chocolate bars...

xena · 20/10/2006 10:09

Thanks
I lost 5lbs (weigh day is thursday) but it needed to be alot because we are away for half term and it will be hard as we are staying at a b&b so will have to eat out alot- I still intend to keep up with it though

Naughtynoonoo · 20/10/2006 13:05

thanks for your reply lunavix , I just came back from weigh in and lost 2.5lbs this week, so happier than last. Good luck everybody and well done for what you have achieved so far.

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 20/10/2006 20:08

Well done on everyone's losses.

I lost another 2 pounds this week so have lost 22 pounds in total in 8 weeks, people are starting to notice now and it's a real boost. I've even tried a pair of trousers on that I haven't fitted into for two years and now they are big on me! I'm deffo going to keep going with this, tis brill.

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 20/10/2006 20:10

WOW well done ledodgywizardrobespierre!!!

thats almost 2 stone in 2 months!!!

MorticiaRed · 20/10/2006 20:11

Le Dodgy - you are doing so well (have been following your progress as we started SW at about the same time). How do you keep yourself motivated? I have had a couple of falls off the wagon recently. x

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 20/10/2006 20:19

Aww thx.
MorticiaRed I think i've got to the stage where I want my body back. Once I get in that mindset I stick to it, it took me a while to start in the first place though lol. I also read the slimming world magazines and the website real life stories when I feel like I need to remind myself why i'm doing it. I also try new recipes etc for a bit of variety. If you keep going and start to see the results the buzz you get knowing that it's coming off keeps you motivated I exercise most days too and whilst I dread the thought of doing it, once i'm doing it I actually enjoy it. I think this helps you see results faster too. I'm one pound heavier than I was when I lost weight on the atkins diet a couple of years ago and the trousers that are now big on me fitted me then but were a bit tight but I wasn't doing any exercise then so although i'm a pound more in weight i'm actually slimmer iyswim.

Rooicosta · 20/10/2006 20:47

Well done to everyone! The losses are brilliant. I have my weigh in tomorrow though haven't been doing it 100% this week as I have still been having wine - too much of! I would say I've done it 80/20 so we shall see.

Keep up the good work!

xena · 20/10/2006 21:28

ledodgy- wow you are doing so well. I am hoping for 20lbs in ten weeks. Strawberry my 5lbs was the first week, have been trying to walk at least 1.5miles per day as well -which I never do. Will be happy if I can lose 2lb a week from now on.
Does anyone have any tips on surviving going away?

MorticiaRed · 21/10/2006 11:07

Thanks, LDR! x
