SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

Hello all. Ledogy invited me over. I joined slimming world last tues, and am struggling a little. I'm at the "hungry and always thinking about food stage" no matter how much free food i eat

lurcherlass · 21/10/2006 18:54

So was I to begin with, it will pass I promise you. After a while my appetite settled down and some days now, I am hardly hungry at all.So far I have lost 11 1/2 pounds.Good luck, just hang on in there!

MorticiaRed · 21/10/2006 21:56

I'm signing out until after half term. I can't seem to stick with it while I am at home. I've lost 16lb since Sept 11, just think I need a bit of time to get back into it. Hopefully will be fine when back at work (30th). Will try at least to keep up exercise.

Rooicosta · 22/10/2006 09:02

I lost 3lbs so am really chuffed with that! I do agree with MorticiaRed though, it is hard to stick to when you are at home. I'm back at work next week so hopefully will stick to the plan 100% and stay off the wine!!

Good luck to everyone

My MIL complimented me on my weightloss last night and now I have convinced her to come to class with me on Wednesday night! I didn't tell her I had gained 1.5lb last week though as I hadn't been for 2 weeks and had been doing an awful lot of eating out.. laziness really.

Those slimmingworld chips are fantastic!!!!!!! I made some on Friday evening, and dh, dd and ds loved them too!! dd started off saying "I don't like these chips" And ended up asking "Is there any more chips left?"

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 22/10/2006 19:51

i get weighed in morn!..cant stay to class cos got app with dd so willbe in and out..feel fat still, went over sins by 1 1/2 in week, but dont feel 'lighter'..bloated and decoraters are in

Rooicosta · 22/10/2006 20:00

Strawberry, good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. I wouldn't worry about going over 1 and a half syns, that's nothing compared to the amount I must have used up on wine! LOL!

Have you had a green day today by chance? - I always feel more bloated on green day's.

At least you are still going to class for your weigh in so that's the main thing! Stay motivated and keep up the good work

cheekymummy · 22/10/2006 20:32

Hello everyone!! You are all doing so well at SW. I joined 10 wks ago and have lost 1st 13.5lb so am really pleased and desperately trying to stay focused. I'm finding it hard now as I think I'm looking better now than in a long time and therefore keep thinking I can give up...NO!!!! Must carry on and reach the goal I haven't set myself yet

badkarma · 22/10/2006 21:41

How many syns do you all actually eat in a day? I keep asking my consultant and all she sayd is "Between 5 and 15" but that could be 5 a day, or 15 a day... if I have none a day would me weightloss be quicker that it would if I had 15?

Hope this makes sense to someone

badkarma · 22/10/2006 22:19

Oh I also meant to ask if anyone has followed weight watchers before? I followed it for a while after I had dd (almost 5). As I sat down to my dinner this evening (mostly free as having a gree day, potatoes, fried egg, beans and some chicken) I wondered if I had counted points for everything I ate today how many I would have been over my allocated 18points!! I can't believe I can eat so much and lose weight!!!!! I really can't get my head round the fact that I never have to be hungry!

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 23/10/2006 08:54

thanks Rooicosta , ill let you know..but woke up today and dd is crying all the time, full of cold, cough, c.pox and very clingy poor swetheart..have rang consultant and have said i will run in to get weighed just before she leaves cos i dont want to have to make dd and mindee wait through group today.

badkarma, i was told 5-15 and me being me, i opted for the 15....i do have about 6stone to lose, so, i thought giving everything up or having less sins would make me fail??..saying that ive rarely had my he's this week, but yesterday wasnt green, it was red!..and my sins got used up on the lean mince which wasnt free as i thought only xtra lean is free, bit of mash, pudding and bit of gravy...thought i was being so good!..when if i was on green i could have had a big free meal and been stuffed!

although i can say that i have NEVER been hungry at end of each day all week!..ive thought i was hungry but it was that boredom thing where you think ooh i fancy something!

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 23/10/2006 08:55

oh and although am prob speaking too soon...i DO weigh less on my own scales today.............

MorticiaRed · 23/10/2006 09:05

Good luck with weigh in, Strawb! I have stayed the same this week (pleased!) Will try to keep up exercise but foodwise am being a bit more lenient, as half term means lunches out and trips to visit people. Also tend to need more alcohol at half term!! x

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 23/10/2006 09:07

think my half term means sat in with dvd's and two ill children..so will either have plenty of time to make things or no time at all cos of snotty/itchy/sicky bits!

badkarma · 23/10/2006 09:45

Are you back yet strawberry? Good Luck!!!!

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 23/10/2006 09:51

Good luck for all losers this week!

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 24/10/2006 08:28

well i do have a lot to lose(about 5-6 stone)!

but this week i have been eating on green pasta in sauces with jacket spuds and lots of salad mixed in, or pasta in sauce on their own with salad..red days i bought a cooked chicken, took all skin off(torture cos i love crispy skin!) and seved it with loads of veg, plus had crab sticks for breakfast.
both days, loads of melon, banana, strawberrys etc
i didnt always eat my healthy b's but i managed to eat all my sins..i even max'd to 15 a day and i should really be on 10 i think..so am very
