Hi, following on from the lose a stone and half thread those of us with more weight to shift (me!) would like to carry on

Is there anyone out there to join?

I will go first

I have reached my Easter target and I would like to lose between 7 and 12 pounds ready for the summer (I may lose more in the autumn but I don't see the point if I can't maintain it)

I have let things sill a bit so my intention is to calorie count as I did before with no chocolate or alcohol from Tuesday for a few weeks. Then I will relax the choc and booze rule Grin

Hello! Can I join you? I'm needing a bit of motivation. Am at 67kg which is big for me (biggest I've ever been) and trying to lose weight..sort of! I've been hoping that it would just "melt off" looking after a toddler and baby, but it's not happening quite like that!

Doesn't help that DH is a marathon runner who has a fast metabolism so has to eat lots. He eats healthily, but not ever "diety" and has never had to diet (thinks diets aren't good, people should just exercise more - nice idea, if you have the time!).

Anyway, I've started trying to calorie count and walk more but me and my app are quite lonely! We've also got lots of guests staying over the next few weeks, so it's going to be harder and lonelier!

My goal is to lose 9kg ultimately and be a size 8-10. I'm paying attention to the scales, but ultimately it's the size I care about.

Saymwa · 27/05/2014 18:37

Hi there Bunny,

It would be lovely if you joined us.
I'd like to get down to 59 kilos which is one more than you. I started at 76kg and am slowly moving down . This week I've been aiming to get to 61,5 kg and , in fact I'm already there. But normally I weigh in at then end of the week and this week ends with a bank holiday for me. I live in France.
So, I'm hoping to sort of stabilise around 61,5 at the end of the week.

I can't come on every day but I love looking forward to catching up on every one's news and I hope to read yours too. Smile

supermariossister · 28/05/2014 09:50

Hi all and new comers :D

Sorry I haven't been back for a few days the app is still broke and the mobile site is a pain in the arse so I haven't been on as much. not as doing well this week half term and too much milling around but have walked absolutely everywhere so am still managing to keep on track. how is everyone doing?

my sister and nephew are back from hols so ive spent a few days with them and took ds out a few times to various things nearby.

BunnyPotter · 28/05/2014 21:33

Thanks for the welcome.

I don't know how I'm going to get through the next few weeks! I've had a guest staying since yesterday, so that's one fruit tarte (made by DH and v little sugar), one M&S Lemon Meringue Pie and one box of chocolates.

She leaves tomorrow (Thurs) then on Fri I have more guests until Wed and on Mon will have also another guest until Wed.

Then a week off.
Then more guests.
Then a hotel visit for a few days.
Then my birthday.
Then more visitors...

How on earth do I do this?!! I LOVE cake and chocolate and that's before we get onto alcohol (I only drink with guests, or at someone's dinner). I also don't want to offend by not eating the chocs that I know will be coming my way (everyone knows how much I like chocolate!). From a food point of view, how do I get through his AND lose weight?!!!

Saymwa · 28/05/2014 23:38

Well done for walking as much as possible Super Smile.
It can't be easy combining weight-watching and entertaining over a period of several days and I for one admire all that you're doing right now - especially because you've come back to the thread to say you need support. We support you . We're thinking about you. It's good that you are looking after yourself on all the different levels that you need . Keep on girl . We're with you and send you many kisses.SmilexSmilexSmilex

Saymwa · 28/05/2014 23:41

Bunny,

Have you looked into 5:2 ?
Would it be suitable to your needs ?

I would be interested to hear what you think.

All the best to you,
xxxxxxx

supermariossister · 30/05/2014 18:58

sorry I've not been around much whilst the app wasn't working the mobile site is a pain on my phone. anyway weight at start 13st 11 weight now 13st 1. slow and steady, having a treat tonight of a pizza from supermarket so not the best but it's the only treat thing this week. the kids are bickering something chronic and I'm ready to drink a vat full of wine but I won't. how is everyone?

RufusTheReindeer · 01/06/2014 10:40

Back from France

Hope everyone is well

I have gained so much weight it's untrue!!!!!!!

Having said that if I hadn't lost some weight this year I would be much, much heavier now

I'm hoping that as it went on so fast it will come off at a reasonable rate

Two interesting facts...my dressing gown weighs 2lbs!! I had to take it off otherwise I would be a lot less positive now Grin and my husband although complaining of feeling fat and bloated hasn't put any weight on!!!!

Going to have a good June and July as we are off to florida for three weeks in August and I am going to put masses of weight on!! Sad

Glad you are all still here and welcome bunny... You sound a bit like me, the lags few weekends have been hell and we have had guests, been guests and been on holiday

Actually. Now I think about it I don't think I've weighed myself for two week Hmm

RufusTheReindeer · 02/06/2014 19:06

Holiday was great thanks

Too much bread and booze though Sad

Need to lose weight before the next one!!! Not til August though so I have a bit of time

Not had a good day but will either have a jacket potato or nothing for tea. Tomorrow I'm quite busy so lots of coffee (with milk ) and I'll make it into a fast day

Glad it's going well with your scales!!

supermariossister · 04/06/2014 15:45

how's things? bread is a problem isn't it it seems to be the staple thing, I don't drink much so that never really plays apart only maybe at Christmas when dp family buy me a variety of sourz, they are my absolute favourite but I only have them as a Christmas treat haha. have got a few things on my mind today so not been as mindful need to have a decent tea and no picking tonight.

supermariossister · 05/06/2014 19:38

someone kick me back on the wagon please I've spectacularly fell off Angry

RufusTheReindeer · 06/06/2014 20:42

Hey super

Sorry I haven't been on, was out last night. I have not done well this week but I'm going to weigh in tomorrow and see what the damage is

How did you fall off? I can drag you back on the wagon, but you might need to give me a leg up Grin

OP posts:
supermariossister · 07/06/2014 11:37

just had a shitty week food wise and resorted to energy drinks . I'm feeling really wiped out tired and like everything is a massive effort. oh dear hope the damage isn't too bad. I need to decide on a day to weigh then leave it a week or so because the constant changing up and down of a pound is driving me bats

RufusTheReindeer · 07/06/2014 19:13

Super

Sorry to hear that,

I am having a treaty night Blush and then back on the wagon on Sunday. I've got jury service for two weeks so that will either mean that I will lose loads of weight or gain it.

My plan is to get to my next target (10 pounds 12, 6 pounds to go) by the time I go on holiday on the 9th of August. I will gain weight while away and I want to lose that and a further 7lbs to get to my target of 10,5 by Christmas. Lose the Christmas weight in January and then try and maintain!!!!!

Not sure that's going to work!!

I think you are right, one day and stick with it will be best for weighing and energy drinks should probably be avoided...but you knew that. If you are having a shitty week you should just do what you can you get through it

I hope it's a bit better this week Smile

OP posts:
supermariossister · 07/06/2014 19:55

just had a homemade curry with dp but had a better day today, it's getting me down being so bone aching tired don't know what's wrong with me this week was full of energy last week, got up at seven today and have fell asleep twice! I think your plan sounds a good one it gives you things to aim for but leeway if they don't go to plan which I think will work out for the best and Give you the control back.

RufusTheReindeer · 07/06/2014 20:36

super

Might be an idea to pop to the doctor re tiredness, especially if you are also overweight as they are two of the signs of an underactive thyroid

Or you could just be knackered

Homemade curry sounds good...I have been very naughty but will probably have omelette and beans for tea tomorrow...get back on the straight and narrow

OP posts:
supermariossister · 07/06/2014 21:09

omlette is good, I have a new found appreciation for scrambled eggsGrin

RufusTheReindeer · 07/06/2014 22:58

super

I do brilliant scrambled eggs but I use butter

My husband does a great omelette with no fat at all, much better for us!

Mothergothel1111 · 08/06/2014 13:01

Can I shuffle in and joinyou please.

I'm really struggling to get my skinny jeans on. I'm carrying too much weight around the middle and generally need to kick half a stone or so.

I'm dusting off my trainers and going for a run.
I need to eat/ drink less.

RufusTheReindeer · 08/06/2014 16:05

Hey mother-

Please do, we seem to have lost a few members this week (they will probably pop back when they are less busy Grin

So do you fancy losing the half stone by the end of July? That's my initial target as I wrote above.

I am calorie counting but I have slipped off the wagon, I really need to start logging calories and eating less, too easy to pop something in my mouth as I walk through the kitchen (that's sounds wrong Hmm)

I weigh in on a Saturday but I will try and remember to check here daily!!!

Hope you have a good week

And you too super

BunnyPotter · 10/06/2014 23:26

Saymwa - sorry for not responding. I read your message, got called away and haven't been able to find this thread until now (searching with wrong terms)!

So the 5:2 is a possibility and I did my first fast - successful fast, that is - on Sunday. DH made it super easy by eating ice cream in front of me, buttering his toast with nice salty butter in front of me (he's Mr High Metabolism Marathon Runner - grr a wasted high metabolism I say!!). It wasn't too bad, but finding the second day is difficult.

I'm starting to calorie count my activity, which does increase what I do.

Trouble is I'm a SAHM who spends a lot of time in the kitchen!

I also found that Mon and today I've been craving food in a way I don't usually. Not sure if this is normal?

supermariossister · 11/06/2014 13:51

Hi all im still here sorry, haven't been on computer and im not a fan of typing long messages on the app. my new scales have gone haywire! they keep switching off/changing setting. weight at 13.2 so not put any on but not lost any either. have been lazing about too much though so stepping up the getting out and about! im making a cake right now for the kids to have in packed lunches. been better today no snacks just fruit breakfast then lunch and feeling better for it. struggling to drink enough water though its so boring! I have been tracking for a couple of weeks now and have come to the conclusion that I eat too much bread and drink a lot of calories so trying to tackle these. how are things with everyone else going?

RufusTheReindeer · 11/06/2014 22:31

Hi bunny and super

Well done on your fasting and well done maintaining...there you go both covered Grin

I'm fine, I may have mentioned I have jury service this week and next...it was either going to go well food wise...or not!!

Well it's not!! Been very bad this week sandwiches and crisps everyday (small canteen and I can't be bothered to do a packed lunch) I am going to try and be better Thursday and Friday, going to have lunch tomorrow and skip tea and then have a fast day on Friday (if I'm not on a case, otherwise I will have to eat as everyone can hear your stomache rumble!)

It's a desperate attempt to not gain much weight this week!

bunny I hope you find another fast day! it can be a pain so you could always try a 16:8

super one of my failings is bread! it did make a difference when I cut back

I hope I have my period, as that would explain why I am eating everything it sight!

Hope you both have a good day tomorrow

BunnyPotter · 12/06/2014 14:42

Hey Rufus,
I'm with you on the bread! Did you manage to avoid the temptations today?

I did my second fast yesterday. It was supposed to be Tues, but I still felt hungry from Sun, so didn't bother. Just as well, because given what I ate, I'd have failed big time in trying not to!

Anyway, it was easy yesterday. I'm not weighing myself yet, because I don't want to be demotivated!

I did 18:6 for a few months and felt good doing it - really good - but didn't lose any weight. Maybe I didn't do it properly (didn't reduce calories, only eating hours). Anyway, my stomach enjoyed the break!
