Hi, following on from the lose a stone and half thread those of us with more weight to shift (me!) would like to carry on

Is there anyone out there to join?

I will go first

I have reached my Easter target and I would like to lose between 7 and 12 pounds ready for the summer (I may lose more in the autumn but I don't see the point if I can't maintain it)

I have let things sill a bit so my intention is to calorie count as I did before with no chocolate or alcohol from Tuesday for a few weeks. Then I will relax the choc and booze rule Grin

you've all inspired me to get back on the calorie counting and portion control (stepped on the scales this morning to discover that not only have I put back on the 3lb I'd lost before the Easter hols, but also an extra 2lb!!! Easter Shock

Ds2 has almost completely stopped breastfeeding too, so no more calories being passed on to him Sad

been rushing about today so didn't have time for breakfast and have had toast and an Easter cake for dinner so not brilliant, will be better when everyone back to school and things are more routine. skint at the minute though so the only fruit in is bananasGrin

Hey not and super

Was doing well but then I had a piece of rocky road, still it's all gone!!

Will still come in at just under 600 cals (not including the rocky road obviously)

bananas are good I expect.

NotMrsTumble. Sounds like a good time to start?

I am most certainly not an expert in all this, just to let you all know.

Can i join you all? Put on 5lbs over the easter holidays, feeling totally crap about it and my house is full of easter chocolate.

I want to lose 28lbs for summer... not sure if that's do-able.

been for a run this morning , not been too strict with dieting but plan to start using Weight Watchers again next week. until then will cut down the intake of crap, start drinking only water, and go back to the healthy dinners i am used to!

Welcome Runner!

28lbs seems a lot, but I havent done the maths.
And like Rufus, I am not one for much exercise right now.
But others are, so come right on in.

Have used the occasional Weight Watchers meals and found them surprisingly tasty and filling considering they are relatively low in calories.

Evening all, am currently on my tube home and so hungry I could eat pretty much anything!
Have had a busy day so not eaten much apart from a salmon salad and an apple but think the sugar low from yesterday's carte d'or consumption has kicked in! (On the 2ww so secretly hoping it is also a sign of pregnancy)
Loving the upbeat poetic nature of this thread, long may it continue along with the lbs being lost en route

As for food bills going down sadly not for me- when I don't have much to play with I tend to upgrade what I do have to eat ie finest smoked salmon, lots of berries etc

supermariossister · 22/04/2014 19:19

my food bills aren't coming down but the three kids are like locusts and can smell food as soon as it enters the house Grin. but I find I do the same and upgrade to nicer versions of things when I've got money to play with. which isn't oftenGrin.

Right, no nice soup for tea!!!!

Even though the recipe said feeds 2, it doesn't

DH has had the soup I had some salmon (veggie but trying fish to cut down on carbs, so pescitarian at the moment!)

I am trying to be extra good this week and will relax a bit more next week (unless I don't lose any weight Grin)

Am tempted by the last Easter egg...resist! Resist!

Resist Rufus resist!

I have bypassed the eggs in favour of my low(er) cal chocolate fix : 1 mini milk (30cals) 3 squares G%B 70% (58 cals) options hot chocolate (40 cals)...

Can I join please?

I want to lose a stone by August when we go on holiday. I lost 6 stone in 2012-2013 but 2 stone have crept back on since I started in a more sedentary job.

I want to try 5:2 but tried to do a 500 calorie day today and went over.

RufusTheReindeer · 22/04/2014 20:55

super

I am first aid trained so that's good (I'm not giving you the kiss of life, so that's not quite so good Blush)

jemima

Welcome!! Well done on your previous losses, I'm sure you'll be fine for august

I'm not quite doing 5:2 (just as well today!!!)

Just a bit cheesed off. Two weeks ago I had lovely long nails...now they've all gone!!! Really short as if I'd bitten them down. Back to bloody square one. Completely off topic but there you are!!!

right im back, the stairs weren't bad but the fitness thing I was trying to do on the wii didn't work because it kept bloody buffering which was abit counter productive to working up a sweat. don't know why it does it we have fibre broadband I think the wii is too old to cope with it.

shame about the nails i have quite long nails and they are always getting commented on. i have taken to cutting them down or i press the wrong keys but biting nails gives me a really creepy spine shivery feeling i just cant do it! pointless fact for you there.

Morning all,

(I have a mixture of short and long nails. I've started painting them more often since I've lost weight . I am happy even with the short ones when they 're painted. )

Ok now that's said, I'd like to say hi to Jemima and well done to Super on the stairs .

One question to Super though, why not buy a DVD ? That's how I do most of my exercise . They're not that expensive but I really liked the fact that I could do them in the comfort of my own home when I was really unfit and whilst I was really over-weight. I prefered that no-one could see me huffing, puffing and wobbling then.

Three months and 1 and a half stone later I can see muscles and I feel like I could exercise with others if and when I want to.Grin

Yesterday's fast day came in at 515 cals but did my Jillian Michaels and didn't eat back the calories. Today - reasonable eating and taking my dog for a long walk along the beach so up earlyShock.

Thanks for the welcome Thanks

Got up this morning and did 10k on the stationary bike. Am taking the DC swimming later too. I've got a week of annual leave and I find it so much easier to exercise when I'm at home than when I'm rushing around with work and childcare/school/kids' activities. I need to find a way of getting more exercise on a work day. That and leave the office biscuit tin alone Blush.

Breakfast was blueberries, banana and natural yoghurt.

Good Christ

You lot do too much exercise...you are making me feel bad (though interestingly not bad enough to actually do any exercise Hmm)

Well done all of you, I can see after my weigh in this week that I will have to join you Grin

Hi there,

Dog walk was great. Sorry if that makes you feel bad Rufus ( how bad does it make you feel when I tell you that it was really long and that when I got back home and calculated the calories I'd used, I found out that it was around 1000 ? ) Might I suggest you put that in your Easter Bonnet - and chew on it Rufus ? Grin

I didn't eat back the calories and today I'm on a fast day. So will sip on many teas thinking about you all.

Go for it with the DVDs Super. You're most definately worth it Smile .
And Jemima, I agree that it's hard to make time for exercise in the normal weekly routine . I read something a while ago and it said something like ' Have you got enough time to watch tv ? Then you've got half an hour to spend on exercise. ' That made me think. After, I decided to get up earlier in the mornings.

Sometimes I did find it hard , but every time I managed it, I felt really chuffed with myself. There was something pleasingly virtuous about having sore muscles during the day- knowing they'd come from working out before work Smile and that I'd taken care of my body already.

Ok, so eyes down again . Another day on the journey downwards.
xxxxx

Hope everyone is doing ok this morning

lily I can't put it in my bonnet and chew on it because it probably contains calories!!!! (Or is it just if I swallow it I'll put on weight Grin)

Well done on your huge walk, bet your dog was shattered!

IMO that depends on how long you chew for Rufus. If you're making sure that you do as little exercise as possible then I suppose you need to move as soon as possible onto the swallowing stage. I don't think there are that many calories in straw hats.

Then again, so that you gradually emerge as a beautiful butterfly as the extra layers dissapear, you might want to build up a little muscle and I'd suggest you chew a little more.

But, of course, I know my place, and won't hassle you too hard. Grin
