Xavielli · 19/08/2006 19:03

BTW did you go to belle pasta? I love it there!!!

JackieNo · 19/08/2006 20:03

Oh no Xavielli - sorry about that. We did go to Bella Pasta. Hopefully there'll be a next time. Are you in Oxon then?

JackieNo · 19/08/2006 20:03

(just being nosy - feel free to ignore/tell me to mind my own business)

whoopsfallenoveragain · 19/08/2006 20:19

Hi,

Can I join you? I need to lose at least 5 stone to get to a reasonable weight (one I'd be happy with!) and then another 2 to be at the 'normal' weight for my height!

suejonez · 19/08/2006 20:20

Sorry Xavielli but it was for fat people only so I could order chips without worrying about people thinking "isn't she fat enough wihtout adding chips to the problem?"

Actually, maybe we could have an eating table and a non-eating table in future!

I know which one I SHOULD be on...

suejonez · 19/08/2006 20:25

of course whoopsie, come in and take a seat, leader WWB will come along and weigh you on Wednesday (actually you'll need to weigh yourself and email it to her but lets pretend).

No everyone weighs some people are here for the support and try to lurk, but generally they crack after a couple of weeks and start posting! (Ring any bells JackieNO?) We're all following different diets, I would say most of us are trying to cut down without dieting per se to try to retrain ourselves to eat properly. And we in it for the long haul

Our rules:

No beating yourself up (we will do that for you if necessary)
Each week is a new week and you leave last weeks problems behind
No pedantic grammar corrections (unless what you typed really doesn;t make sense) we are quite smart and will work out what you mean.

Have I left anything out girls?

WigWamBam · 19/08/2006 20:33

Just about covers it, Sue!

Whoops ... who were you before? I know you changed your name recently but can't remember what from!

OP posts:
whoopsfallenoveragain · 19/08/2006 20:45

I was Chjlly
At the moment I have been trying to cut out the crap kind of weight watchers style as I have about 3 sets of books! and exercising lots which is either swimming a mile or working out at the gym.
I would like to lose at least 2 stone by Christmas!

suejonez · 19/08/2006 20:47

I'm sort of doing a weight watchers style, really just because I'm used to it and it encourages you to cut down on saturated fat. I agree that exercise is really key, in fact for me its pretty much essential, I think I've been struggling a bit because I really haven't been doing enough.

Just thought do they have weighing scales in Kazakhstan I wonder?

Littlefish · 19/08/2006 20:56

You will be far too busy to be weighing yourself! Actually, you'll probably be far too busy to eat!

WigWamBam · 19/08/2006 21:02

Oh yes, of course you were Chjlly ... I could remember you were someone with a MNer sister but couldn't remember which one. You have to excuse my elderly befuddled brain sometimes

OP posts:
whoopsfallenoveragain · 19/08/2006 21:08

Yes I am Catj's sister
Younger and more beautiful of course!!

WigWamBam · 19/08/2006 21:09

But of course

justamum · 19/08/2006 23:09

welcome "whoopsfallenoveragains" this is such a nice thread! people like us find it and breathe a great big sigh of relief that we am not the only "larger" mnetters.
How much weight do you think it is possible to lose before sept 8th, i am going to see robbie williams and my sil thinks she can get us backstage. Do you think it is possible that i can be glamorous enough by then to persuade robbie to fall in love with me and whisk me away to a life of luxury?(i'd have to go back for the children though)

winnie · 20/08/2006 11:57

Hi everyone...
Glad you all had a good meet up.
I've been on holiday for a week.
Ate lots & drank lots!
But only put on 1lb
Am back now and will get into this properly... promise
The things I hated on holiday all related to my weight. I needed something warm to wear and could not face traipsing around loads of skinny shops not finding anything that fitted let alone that I liked so I wore a pashima rather a lot.
Also, although I got in the swimming pool and the sea with the children (single parent, no one else to do it for me) I hated the spectacle of getting in. (Love it once in and have lots of fun but getting from beach to sea or changing room to pool is excruciating.) Also, I just didn't feel like I had the energy to keep up with 5 year old ds 24/7. Usually, school, work and his Dad give me a break and I simply haven't the energy to keep up with him all the time. Will try and think about these things as motivating factors.

Good luck everyone

coppertop · 20/08/2006 13:24

Justamum - It's strange that you asked that question about the scales because I was wondering the same thing about a week ago. I know mine are accurate at the lower end because I weighed ds1 and ds2 on mine the day after they had weighed at the hospital. (Ds1 thinks my scales are for measuring the size of your feet, bless him ) At the higher end (me!) they are erratic to say the least. WWB's explanation makes sense.

Welcome to the BigMoFo's, Whoops. I was on the "Due March 2006" thread with Catj and remember being grateful to you for keeping us all updated about her dd when she was in hospital.

suejonez · 20/08/2006 16:51

Be brave - weigh in Boots like me. Everyone avoids you like the plague when they see you're heading for the scales so no-one looking over your shoulder.

Also instead of thinking "how aweful they're looking at me because I'm so fat and I'm weighing myself" I beam at everyone and think "aren't I fab trying to do something about my weight when most overweight people aren't. And its working, I'm so fab!"

Of course it only lasts about 5 mins but the "revelling" at weighing in rather than being scared of does help me through it. And it is true, we are trying seriously and so many people don't, that we should give ourselves a pat on the back just for that alone.

whoopsfallenoveragain · 20/08/2006 17:43

Coppertop - Catj's dd4 is still in hospital but we haven't really posted updates too much now.

Justamum - I'm so of you I'd love to see Robbie live!

I am off to the gym later although have been to the Isle of Wight and walked round black gang chine!

I really fancy a swim tonight but need a new swimsuit and the only ones they had in my size had a padded bust and I certainly don't need that! so need to hit the shops to find a new one!

suejonez · 20/08/2006 20:55

I'm off to the Isle of Wight at the weekend. My lovely sister has a fancy house near Seaview so me and my mum and brother and SIL are all off for an adults only weekend.

MrsJohnCusack · 20/08/2006 22:12

ooh that sounds nice Sue

suejonez · 20/08/2006 22:15

doesn't it - swimming pool and tennis court and an evening stroll around the grounds. Lovely. (Actually it's just a very big garden but grounds sound so much better don;t they?)

flutterbee · 20/08/2006 23:19

Erm sorry to busrt your little bubble but Robbie is not going to fall in love with you no matter how damn sexy you look (and I'm sure you will) because he is smitten with me. I have told him No I'm a married woman but he won't have it.
