I'm here. WI yesterday and I'm down to 10st 10.6lb, so just a smidge over a 3lb loss. I have started a cleaning rota so I did no exercise on Monday, but did my 30 mins nordic walking yesterday when DD was at her gymnastics class. No exercise class tonight but I will do some stepper working out. I can't say how long I'll do because its a bit hard going on the legs.

DD starts going to Rainbows tomorrow and the timings work out nicely for me to go to zumba every week rather than alternate weeks due to DH shifts. It will just mean that I have to sneak off 5 mins early to collect her.

As of next week I go back to working my 4 days a week rather than my hours being spread over 5 days (the reason for my tears at work last week, but sorted for now), so that should mean I can get some exercise done on that day too. It will also mean that I can focus on getting my dissertation done. I can't wait until the summer when its all over and done with. Oh the joys of getting in from work and having to do nothing other than the usual stuff.

I hope everyone else is all focussed. I still keep imaging myself strutting my stuff around the pool in July and as a shorter term goal, the fact that I'm forty in around 4 weeks time and I'm definately not going to be 'fat and forty'.

I had another WI yesterday and I'm another 1lb down, so I currently weigh 10st 9.6lb.

I'll find the next few weeks more difficult because i'll be sat on my arse alot more at work because it's marking time for end of semester 1. I bloody hate marking and the sodding software we us keeps conking out, so it is taking longer than it should.

I didn't do my nordic walking yesterday when DD was at gymnastics because it was too cold. My feet were freezing from my 10 minute cycle home and then the idea of walking for 30 minutes just filled me with dread, so I just sat and drank tea whilst reading my kindle and watching DD learn how to do backwards rolls. I did however, go for a 30 minute stroll at lunchtime to get some fresh air and to help prevent thrombosis in my legs from all the sitting. I'm hoping to get to Zumba tomorrow though, at least that's not outside!

Then, joy of joys, I'm back to my Friday's off, so after dropping DD at school I might venture off on a long nordic walk (weather dependent), but I will also do some marking because they are like a mental noose around my neck.

Velma you are doing so so well. We started off about the same and you have steadily declined in weight. I have sadly gone the other way . I'm sure you will keep it up as once you're on a downward trend it's really motivating to continue.

I just don't know what's wrong with me - I just can't seem to get into any kind of healthy eating or exercise groove. Jan has been really heavy on events and I have 3 more nights out before Feb so my aim is to properly start then and just try to stop any further weight gain until then.

I have been managing 10k steps per day which is something but no where near enough.

LOTI as always you are like a Duracell bunny. Love it & keep going!! Grin

Sazz, I was a bit like that before I first come onto this thread and then something just snapped.

I lost 4st in 1999-2000 and I could see my weight steadily creeping back up and I hated how i felt when I was fat. I got reminded of that feeling when I was pregnant with DD and I really didn't want to go back there.

I knew it would be much easier mentally to lose 7lb or so rather than trying to tackle a stone or two.

Well, the marking went well today. I've got 8 exams and 31 reports left to do. I'm definately off to Zumba because even though I've been getting up regularly my arse is all tingly. I've also been moving away from the computer because I'm finding that by the end of the day I'm finding it really difficult to focus my eyes. It's not as though what I'm looking at is fuzzy, but it's more like my eyes are crossed and I've got a bit of double vision or something. I have to blink loads to get my eyes to focus again.

Right, I'm off to get my exercise gear on!

I'm really not on it!!! One last work shindig was on Friday and then a reunion next sat and I'm done for!!
Flabby belly city here which on the upside had curbed my eating today. Plus I just saw a pic of me on Friday and my arms are like Popeye, although not in a muscular way. Hmm

I am still going to zumba 4/5 times a week and being mindful of what I eat! The excess from xmas is v v v slowly going down but once false move and bam weight rockets again

I had my WI yesterday. I put on 2lb and I don't know how. I was within my points and i've done some exercise. The only thing I can think of is that I've got a bit of a cold and i'm possibly nearly TOTM (I'm irregularish).

Oh, well back to another week of pointing, as long as the general direction is down I'm not too fussed.

LOTI, what step counting thing have you got, or do you just use your phone? I keep looking at the different activity trackers, but I walk alot with my hands in my pockets or carrying something, so there is no swing of the arms.

Sazz, oh, you'll get there in the end. Keep focussing on the ham hock arms! Grin

6k run this morning and then twisted my ankle over Sad

14k steps though Smile

Velma
I have a fitbit and you don't really have to 'swing' your arms for it to register (maybe that's where I'm going wrong with the ham hocks HmmGrin). It syncs to the phone and very easy to use just don't get the dodgy accompanying scales

Well done on the walks and Zumba LOTI. That's great result exercise which will be doing wonders for your health Smile

Pah to the pesky 2lbs Velma - send them packing...... Grin

LOTI - I'm not doing super strict cabbage soup as i have a meal out Thurs and an evening out Fri but trying to mainly eat soup in between. I have managed a rather lovely curry flavoured one with black onion seeds and coconut this time - even DH ate some last night Grin

2.5 mile school run completed and 10k steps done by 5 ish. DD1 has said she will come to the gym with me on Sat. I'm hoping she enjoys the class so she bullies me into it every week as i'm generally crap at the weekend.

Welcome back Sharp, nice to see you back having shed 12 stone ish Wink. Sorry to hear you have had to go through this as i'm sure it was pretty shitty but glad to hear you are now in a good place Smile. Was it really 3 years ago?? Shock

Hi all

I did my WI on Tuesday morning and my weight was 10st 10.6lb, so 1lb off from last week.

I'm going to attempt zumba tomorrow night, but I'm super busy at work, so I might still be there when it starts.

I didn't walk last night either. I literally got through the door, put DD into the car to take to gymnastics.

All the madness will be over and done with come Friday night though, so back to normal next week, which I can't wait for.

I've only 5 and a bit assignments left to mark also. I'm hopefully going to get them done tonight. I'm sick of sitting on my arse.

Do we need a new thread now we are at 1000 posts?
