I want to lose 2stone by Christmas! Ripping and others I need you!

OK I have had for too many days 'off' the diet recently and am in danger of undoing all my previous good work. I am currently creeping up to 12st, which is a weight I promised myself I'd never be again, and so I would love to lose about 2st by Christmas - anything in the very low tens would be AMAZING.
So I am going to:

  • Restart the Shred - I've not been as bad at this as I could have been but for one reason or another have had lots of days off. I was enjoying (in a masochistic way) level 2 and so need to carry on
  • Calorie count again, but not try to eat ridiculously low calories (was often at 600-700)
  • Eat meals and no chocolate until I sit down for the evening
  • Remember why I'm doing this. Diabetes, joint pain, heart attack - all less risky than when I was over 16st but still an issue.
  • Go shopping when I am nearing my target - I did this in the summer and really enjoyed buying clothes I thought I looked good in as opposed to how shopping has always been for me - what do I need, and what do I look least worst in? That'll do.

And I'm going to use this thread for motivation. I will report in. Feel free to mock me if I'm not here - it means I am slipping up and face down in a box of haribo
(for the kids, obviously)

Thanks beechview It was getting better till this afternoon dd fell off her horse at therapeutic riding and I sprinted from the viewing gallery to get her. She's fine and I guess I could count that as my exercise for today :)

Well done Ripping!

I've only lost a few pounds but within the last 2 days I've had two different people tell me that I'm looking younger so maybe I'm on an anti- ageing diet! I can't notice any difference when I look in the mirror.

I've noticed my skin is brighter, probably down to all the water I'm drinking. It also feels thinner, not so thick like a rind!

Anyone seen SPB about?

Might have to send out a search and rescue ;)

Well done Ripping!

This is why I never stick to it

Pink, I think you perhaps need to look again at how you're doing this. Not all diet plans suit everyone, and you feeling so bad can't be right.

I'm worried about you :(

Pink have you cut down on caffeine that always makes me feel horrific.

I have inadvertently lost 4lbs, went to Pil's ate huge slice of chocolate cake for fil's birthday. Stood on the scales while I was at the loo and weighed in at 15st 5. Have now made Pil's scales my official weighing device as they obviously knew I needed a confidence boost Grin

Well it could be a diet coke detox Blush
I'm going to look up the symptoms

I'd put money if I had any on it being the diet coke withdrawal. I gave up diet coke a few years back, I had horrible headaches and I felt woozy for about a week.

I feel the same if I don't have any coffee but I'm not planning on giving that up any time soon Grin

I think that's what it is, my food intake has been quite balanced.
I didn't purposely do it, we just ran out and I thought as I was trying to drink more water, I wouldn't order any more
Funnily enough the grocery shopping has just arrived with the diet coke!
I feel like my head is in a vice

Bad night last night- screaming children resulted in chocolate and biscuits- oops, on the plus side although I caved last night I couldn't actually remember the last time I had snacked before that- so am snacking less in general. Was going to go for a long walk today but the thunder and lightening has put me off- total wuss.

Fasting day today and thought I'd have a sneaky check on the scales in Boots, same ones I've been using.

They reckon I've put on 2lbs since Tuesday

But they also say I've lost 4 inches off my height, so I perhaps they're fucked :-D

I could do with losing a few inches off my height as DH is a short arse! Maybe I had better try the 5:2! Grin

Only 0.75 lb off this week. I am going to review my TDEE. I know slow weight loss is good long term but at this rate I will stall pretty soon.

I bought a new pair of jeans 4 weeks ago when I started my diet plan, they fastened but were too tight. No problem I thought give it a couple of weeks and they will be fine. 4 weeks later I have lost 7.25 lbs and the jeans are just the same!

This is very frustrating. Sad

Ripping, I think you should ignore those scales! Doesn't sound right!
Artic, just carry on, you're going in the right direction. Ime, I'll feel slimmer all of a sudden, not week by week.
I've gone a bit off track, not majorly, but feel like I'm slipping.
Honestly I just can't be bothered. Feeling v miserable with dh and home crap stuff

Hey all! Lost another 1lb or 2 - can't quite remember, and it was only this morning when I weighed in! Blush so that makes 6 or 7lb overall! I am pretty pleased. To my mind slow and steady loss due to change in way of eating means sustainable!

We are doing well! Don't give up!

Good work Thermo

This morning I got up at 9, had porridge, just had 2 scrambled eggs, so why I am shaking with hunger

The last 3 days have not been that low calorie at all, about 1800/1900

I just can't do this, I'm going to have to go to the doctors.

Oh Pinot. That does sound worrying. Sounds like you are eating sensibly so doesn't stack up. My DH suffers from similar and has been diagnosed with low blood sugar. Hope you get it sorted.

Hope you are feeling better today Pinot.

I did my first C25K run this evening. Enjoyed being outdoors on my own. I also used the Map My Run app which is free and brilliant. I was out for 30 minutes, ran for 8 of them and burned 175 calories - makes you realise how easy it is to eat them and how hard it is to run them off!

Will do Shred tomorrow. Weigh in day is Tuesday.

RippingYarns · 06/10/2013 19:22

Sunshine, how did you find the running? I found day 2 of week 1 hard but about to start week 3 tomorrow and can't wait!

Good luck for your weigh in

It was fine Ripping. I was up to week 4 before the summer, then it all went to pot as we were travelling, so started again. I probably don't need to do week 1, but wanted to actually complete something so will do the whole thing. It's still hot here, about 30 degrees last night, so I was VERY hot when I finished!

Did Shred this morning. That was harder than running. I can't imagine getting to level 3 on it, but giving it a go.

Enjoy your run today!
