I want to lose 2stone by Christmas! Ripping and others I need you!

OK I have had for too many days 'off' the diet recently and am in danger of undoing all my previous good work. I am currently creeping up to 12st, which is a weight I promised myself I'd never be again, and so I would love to lose about 2st by Christmas - anything in the very low tens would be AMAZING.
So I am going to:

  • Restart the Shred - I've not been as bad at this as I could have been but for one reason or another have had lots of days off. I was enjoying (in a masochistic way) level 2 and so need to carry on
  • Calorie count again, but not try to eat ridiculously low calories (was often at 600-700)
  • Eat meals and no chocolate until I sit down for the evening
  • Remember why I'm doing this. Diabetes, joint pain, heart attack - all less risky than when I was over 16st but still an issue.
  • Go shopping when I am nearing my target - I did this in the summer and really enjoyed buying clothes I thought I looked good in as opposed to how shopping has always been for me - what do I need, and what do I look least worst in? That'll do.

And I'm going to use this thread for motivation. I will report in. Feel free to mock me if I'm not here - it means I am slipping up and face down in a box of haribo
(for the kids, obviously)

Had a chinese takeaway for dinner tonight Blush

But I did have beef and tomato rather than my usual deep fried chicken strips and not a full load of rice and noodles, so marginally better... until I offset that with wine.

Still did my Shredding though, and ended up going for a walk twice to the bank due to work incompetency (hence the wine!)

So, mixed day.

The most useful thing I ever heard was 'pay attention to what you eat'. So, no guilt, no good/ bad days- just make good decisions. Helped me

Weetabix for breakfast
Jacket potatoe with beans/coleslaw for lunch
Planning a prawn curry and rice for tea.

Just being aware of what I eat at the minute but a little bit is creeping off just down to the fact I pick something up and think do I really need that?

Well done eveyone. Keep trying, tomorrow is another day is something I have to remember and not throw in the towel every time I have a minor blip.

Hi all. 2 lb lost this week for me. Bit disappointed as usually lose a bit more when I first start dieting. Did have a takeaway though one night because of dog drama. Been really healthy though otherwise and not had wine all week so feeling pretty pleased. I tend to weigh in on Fridays - what days do you all weigh?

No change on the dog btw. Sad

2lb is great!
Don't be disappointed
Think ill weigh in on Monday, just so it's a whole week but thinking about it Fridays might be better
I'm so desperate for a glass of wine, but I think I'd drink the whole bottle.

I hate had a completely ghastly and horrible day with DS.

Tonight there will be wine and tiramisu (homemade!) while watching rugby. I figure I can lose weight salivating over muscular thighs?! Blush

2lbs is good! I know what you mean about being disappointesd when you normally lose more but I bet you'll do just as well next week - whereas I often lose 4lbs the 1st week and then none the next.

I weigh almost every day. I do tend to fluctuate a lot so I figure that if I weigh every day then I'm getting a more accurate picture of the overall trend, rather than only weighing on one day and getting an artificially very good or very bad result!

My first test tonight - we are going out for dinner. I've worked out the WW points and that means only the teeniest bit of food during the day. I've had a few slices of ham and am going to try and power through on just Diet Coke (healthy! :) ) as dinner will be early tonight.

Hi can I join too?

I 'm 5ft 2 ins. I started 2 weeks weighing 11:4 I'm now 10:13. I'm sort of doing a mixture of 5:2 and calorie counting. Friday and Saturday I allow myself 1600 calories which is slightly above my TDEE. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday I have 1200 calories and I have 500 calories on Monday and Thursday. My weigh- in day is Friday and I don't count the calories of fruit or vegetables.

My aim is to get to 8 stone, I was 7:7 stone before I had children.

I'm going to restart the shred tomorrow.

Weigh in day- 4lbs for first week, not ecstatic, but I know I'm back into it now, and I can do it
Unfortunately I am now sitting on the couch with a heat pack having done something to my back, so the gym ain't gonna happen today

Hi, I'd like to join you too.
I am 10 stone 10 and have lost 10 lbs really slowly in the past 2 months trying to do slimming world on the cheap (i.e not joining!)
I bike to work (approx 6 miles each way) about twice a week....thats it for exercise, and I cant imagine doing anymore.
I have my birthday this week, so will allow myself a day off, so to speak, but will be back on the wagon on Thursday. Glad to hear you are all doing well.....good luck. I weigh myself on Sunday mornings, so will update as a I go.

morning all!

more new faces not to stuff themselves with Cake and crisps Grin

i'm on a fast day today, all i've had so far is a black coffee (1tspn sugar) and a pint of water, and just back from my c25k run

started back on week 1, after having shin pain, and only shredded once last week, because of the same reason.

i find fasting really easy, and it's the big weigh in tomorrow, appt is mid morning, so i'll hold off eating too much before then and hopefully there will be some weight loss

Ripping, what is shredding?

Report
RippingYarns · 23/09/2013 11:48

sorry, yes, it's the 30 day shred

an exercise programme devised by an evil genius Jillian Michaels

it's a 20 minute workout divided into 3 circuits with varying exercises for strength, cardio and abs, you do it for 30 days and you can really see a difference to your body shape.

there is a diet plan to along with it, but you have to pay for that by subscription

i won't do that because i'm scared JM will find out where i live and come and shout at me in person i can't afford it

Hi folks

If anyone's looking for some inspiration - and we could all do with a bit of that from time to time - have a look at this post on the 52fastdiet forum.

Hi everyone. Can I join in?
I'm 5'2" and 11st8lbs. I want to get to 9st initially.

I've started today as I had a big sugar binge over the weekend and thought 'enough is enough'.
I have a big belly and look awful in anything I wear. I'm going back to work from mat leave at the end of October so I'd like to look somewhat presentable.
I want to do Shred again but am a bit scared as I got really creaky knees last time (although an amazing figure change!). I think I'll just give it a go and see what happens.

Dietwise, I'm going to kick start myself with 5 days of Zoe Harcombe style which is one carb meal a day and 2 low carb (she has other rules but I didn't stick to them before and it still worked really well). Snacks can only be natural live yoghurt. I tend to do porridge for breakfast then no carbs for the rest of the day.
