Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

Newbie here, joined at end of last thread, weighed in yesterday evening at 13st. Would love to lose 2 stone! Day 2 of SW for me, taking it seriously this time. Am usually good for first couple of days on a diet but then get lazy and get a takeaway on 3rd or 4th evening on way home from work. Hoping ye can help me stay away from takeaways:)

SadSadSadSadSad

I'm so ashamed- a massive 4lb gain this week Blush

Period is due so I'm sure that is partly to blame but even so, I feel like a big fat failure Sad

Henrietta you are NOT a failure.

Period's have a bloody lot to answer for IMO!

And even if its not all fluid retention, so what? Learn from it, put it behind you and move forward.

You've done brilliantly so far, don't let this break you Wink

Hello! I can't remember what I was at last Wednesday (and I'd left my tablet at PiLs so I didn't enter into my tracker), so I will need to wait until next week to report my weight loss.

Congratulations to all who have lost!

Henrietta please don't be so hard on yourself. We are all going to have weeks where we gain it's what we do about it that makes the difference (what a cliché!)

Let it spur you on for a good week. A good week plus loss of fluid retention gives you a really good opportunity for a big loss next week.

Henrietta, dont be ashamed! I put on 5lb a month ago but got myself back on track and lost 7 the next week. Period and water retention, don't let it get you down. Everyone one has weeks of gaining x

Pig mine too, it was bad after the ends and is almost hip to hip but its bloody awful after my last elcs. I really need it to be a bit better by nxt summer, it gets so itchy in hot weather

Don't be so hard on yourself Henrietta. We can put on up to 7lbs when we are due on, so don't fret.

Had an unexpected meal out today, but I was good and had chicken kebabs with spicy rice as opposed to burger and chips like everyone else had. Was very nice.

Oh Henrietta dont beat yourself up. We have all been a victim of this before and thats why you thought of helping all of us by starting this thread. Did you eat all the muffins? If you didnt what my friend does is to freeze stuff she buys when she shouldnt have, you know treat stuff.
she just shoves in to get rid of it and then when she feels strong enough she gets a maker pen and puts the date of her next treat in big letters on each one, so for you maybe each muffin would have the next wednesday and the one after on another and so on. She reckons it makes her feel bad when she takes it out and holds it in her hand. And after all every little bit of psychological help we can get has to be a good thing right?

Hello, checking in for new thread :). I weighed a bit early this week and I've lost 2lb so that takes me over a stone in total so I'm very happy. Well done on all the losses, great to see so much success!

Isthis I ate 2 Blush

DS and DH had one each so that's them all done thank goodness! Never ever again will I be buying treat stuff- if I'm having a treat night I will go out that night and get it!

I know I could have tried alot harder this week, my aim for next week is to get this whole 4lb back off!!

well done everyone Smile

I've lost 1lb this week.

Aww Henrietta please don't feel ashamed and downhearted. I don't think a muffin or two muffins and a mars bar can put on 4lb! Your period will have a lot to answer for.

Also, just a thought do you weigh yourself at the same time of day as that can have a difference can't it? Anyway regardless, please don't be down about it, I reckon its going to happen to us of us along our journey and we'll all feel like that. If you stay on track this week then I'm sure next week will be a different story Grin

clarinet that hotel looks amazing - you definitely deserve a treat! It would be great to be in your position in a years time. I'm so glad you are on the thread because it is so motivating to think you were 'one of us' and now you're nearly at target - you must be very proud of yourself!

No MissELodie I weigh at different times as I use the scales in Boots as I don't own a set. However I think I will buy a set tomorrow, so I can weigh in the mornings. If I see a loss it will definitely spur me on to sticking to plan, whereas at the minute I just feel 'what's the point' and would happily sit and eat a whole tub of quality street if I had any! Perhaps it's a good thing DD is asleep and I'm housebound.

The 2 muffins and a mars bar yesterday probably wouldn't cause me to put on 4lb but looking back over the week I haven't been very good Sad I haven't been sticking to my daily walks, been pinching crisps from the DC's packet when they aren't looking, when making them a sandwich and cutting off the crusts because they are fussy buggers I've been popping them in my mouth instead of the bin etc. ConfusedConfused

Hey, may I join in? I have 13 stone to loose. It's going to take forever! Doing SW and it has worked in the past, although I didn't stick to it long term and put the 3 st I lost back on again. OH is doing it with me and looses very easily on it, which can be a good thing and a bad thing!!

Just popped back on because I have thought of my daily inspiration-

I want to be able to wear high heels. At the moment I'm like a weeble in heels. I'm clumsy enough to fall over in flats so heels and lots of excess weight are a dangerous combination. I'm hoping when I have lost some weight I'll have better posture and balance and will finally be able to wear a pretty pair of shoes.

I love the red ones

Hi trinity! Welcome Smile Are you following any plan or just upping the exercise and cutting down the calories?

I know what you mean about DH, I joined slimming world with DH a while back and On our first weigh in I lost 5lb which I thought was great, then DH went next and had lost 12lb IN ONE WEEK! It made my 5lb look like crap and I was so disheartened.

Hentietta I have had a differencr of 5lb weighing in the morning and weighing at night. Weighing at same time of day is a MUST!

Welcome trinity. Having dh do ot with you is fantastic. My dh is a skinny thing and has recently taking up running (I am playing well out of my league here) so has no idea about diets.

We're doing SW.

OH is the type to eat SW but without the 1/3 superfree, have a cheeky couple of beers and still loose 5lbs. Grrr! He has topped 19 st though so wants to loose 4 st (he's 6 foot 6 so much less than that and he'd be see through Grin )
