Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

Morning all Grin

Another week staying the same for me. I am a little bit annoyed but then, as I mentioned up thread, I did have quite a bit of alcohol over the long weekend.

Onwards and upwards (or downwards in our case!)

Good luck all Wink

Had a very bad week but have stayed the same, which is more than I deserve. I am pretty cross with myself actually as I could feel some old habits slipping in in times of stress (biscuits, ffs!). Need a good kick up the backside.

I am going to join in with the daily motivations. My one for today is that I want to have more choice of bras (am 34kk!). Surely I can shrink my norks?

Must. Focus. Hope everyone else has has a better week, good luck all.

hello everyone
I also need to loose lots of weight - I am 15st.1lb. and am working on my motivation as this year so far I've lost nearly 2 stone (in 5-6 pounds each time) and always went back to the original weight!
so I decided - if I want to work on my motivation I need to commit to some sensible exercise plan.

I am up at 4:20 and went yesterday and this morning for a short run/walk with my dog to give him extra exercise :) I am setting off at 5 and work 6am-2pm
I am amazed that I managed to run half of that distance! I walk my dog fast so I guess my legs are used to carry my weight :) I aim for at least 30 min walk in the evening and 15 min afternoon with him but considering I drive to work and work through my lunch this is the only exercise I get nowadays as I have been unable to make myself to go to the gym:(
I know a lot about food and how various diets work but the other 2 elements of slimming process - exercise and motivation are very hard for me to keep up.
So my goal is to keep running/walking my 20 min in the morning so that in the end I can run full 20 min. I guess it is going to take me 5-6 weeks to get there. I am not using watch, just run/walk and am adding also some stretching as my calfs were burning both days just after short distance run.
I have a lot of snacks in the office (company provides them) but am able to resist them on most days.
My downfall is lack of planning what to eat when I get home after 3 pm - I should have soup in the fridge for quick snack and emergency canned soups as a back up.
What's been helping me lat few days is reading book "Think more eat less" - it is going to be long read for me :)
So I shall weight myself tomorrow and add my stats here.

(sorry for such long post :) )

Welcome antimatter. You sound very committed waking up at 4:20 to go for your run!

Just weighed in and I have lost 2lb. That's a total of 8lb in 3 weeks. I'm over the moon about it.

For those that have stayed the same, it happened to me last week, just keep on ploughing on and don't let it ruin your focus.

Good luck to everyone weighing in today

Glad it went well Yellow. Hope you had that wine :)

Welcome antimatter :)

Well done those that stayed the same (at least you didn't gain :)) and well done Mia for losing 2lb.

I've lost 2lb this week, very happy with that as I had a couple of bad days. I also feel like I did at the start of this journey and like I've not lost any weight plus my skin is terrible. I've not had such a bad spot outbreak since I was about 13/14 Hmm I have lost 4 inches this week though.

Start weight- 17st 11
Current weight- 16st 3

I've got my next half stone (virtual) sticker Grin bye bye 1st 8lbs! Hopefully it won't be long until I can wave goodbye to the 16's! 15's I'm comin' at ya! Grin

Good luck to everyone else weighing in today :)

Well just weighed in and only lost 1lb this week. Bit disappointed as that is the lowest amount I've lost in a week so far Sad but I suppose though I was quite good over bh weekend, I wasn't rigorously perfect and with funeral yesterday I suppose it all adds up. Big picture though, that's 36lbs in 12 weeks. Bit worried by 1lb though as I really don't want to lose momentum! 1 st 6lbs to go till healthy bmi and 1st 13 to target. Got big run planned tonight.

Off on holiday on friday but not too worried as we tend to have very active holidays with lots of picnics so I can control what I eat. Dh on strict instructions to tell me off if I reach for the wrong things!

Well done Mia and welcome antimatter. Sirzy, do you know why you have stayed the same? Sometimes it just happens, but I find it easier to deal with if I know what the reason is, like Birding and phantom do.

Good luck to everyone else, my weigh in is tonight.

Morning all - another one here who has stayed the same this week. But I do know I was a bit slack over the bank holiday.

To console myself I just checked my measurements and I've lost 5cm off my waist and 3cm off my hips since I last measured, which I think was at the start of the last thread, so at least I can see the progress I have made.

I'm not going to let this set me back on the path to self-destruct - I know where I went wrong, and I enjoyed every mouthful of it, but it will be an occasional treat from now on and not a habit.

TMI alert Also been pretty constipated this week so maybe a decent pooh is all I need Grin

Fantastic results, Mia and Isaac. Sirzy, don't lose heart. Some weeks it happens, even if all your choices have been good ones. I agree with Lorelai, ask yourself why it happened, and if there were some bad choices this week just gone, put them in the past and focus on the week ahead. If there weren't, well, that's bodies for you! Sometimes they just do unpredictable things.

Another pound off for me this week. Three more until goal weight. On the basis that I'm losing a pound most weeks but not quite every week, and on the basis that I like to keep my targets easily reachable, I've planned my celebration for early October. I will be going here for a long weekend:

www.lakecountryhouse.co.uk/

I'm going with a small group of friends - we've got a deal that includes four spa treatments each. This is something I've never done before, and would have run (OK puffed laboriously) a mile from had anyone suggested it. This time I made the suggestion and did the booking. The friends I'm going with won't know that I'm celebrating because I'm too embarrassed to talk about weight loss with anyone, but I'll know. And I intend to enjoy it!

1lb off. Which is not bad considering my weekend. Lots of lovely home made bread.:) But have eaten really well otherwise so not complaining.

Clarinet that's brilliant - only 3 lbs to go! Remind me again how much you've lost in total?

And how much has it cost you in new clothes?!!

Report
TiredNursey · 28/08/2013 08:37

And my too tight trousers are wearable. Still size 18 marks so about a 20 in real clothes. But it's an achievement. Grin

i think having lost 2 stone I have just reached a bit of a plateau. I knew the second 2 stone would come off as easily.

But in positives I have dropped from 15 stone 13 to 13 stone 10 in 3 months. I have dropped from a (very tight) 18 to a 14/16 so although I am disheartened with this weeks results overall I am still happy.

I will be size 12 for christmas!

Morning everyone. Well done to everyone who has lost this week. Those who have stayed the same, please don't be disheartened, you didn't put any weight on and that's a bonus in my book.

I've made myself a yummy breakfast this morning as sick of sultana bran or fruit. Put some spray oil in a frying pan, fried some mushrooms and a few chopped baby plum tomatoes then added a couple of eggs. Seasoned with pepper. Delicious!

Total loss so far 5 st 11 lb, cq, and I'm going for the full 6 stone.

New clothes, now there's a question. I wasn't doing badly till I got 'stuck' at 10 st 4 lb in April/May. When I went five consecutive weeks without losing anything at all I thought, 'Right, that's it, my body must have reached its natural lowest point and I'm not going to lose any more'. I was pretty pleased with myself, because it's a lot lower than I'd managed on any of my many previous attempts at weight loss, and I'd reached size 14 below and 16 up top, which I was very happy with and quite honestly hadn't really believed possible. So I booked a day off work (which is how I can date it precisely) and went on a huge shopping spree to reward myself for having done so well, and as incentive not to pile it all back on again. And the very next week I started losing again Grin - just a pound a week, but it's added up. Now I'm a size 12 and my lovely new clothes are slightly on the baggy side, especially the trousers which are being held up by belts that I have to tighten just a little each week. Just as well I've always liked baggy clothes. Might buy some more when I've saved up a little but I can't afford new clothes and a fancy spa weekend!!

I have lost 4lb this week. Credit goes to my doubters who I AM going to prove wrong.

I am weighing in kg and converting to lbs for this thread. Todays weigh in (including aircast boot on my leg) came in at 100.9 kg my next mini target is to get below that 100kg mark and then head to the 90. If I canreach 90 I will be the lightest I have been in over a decade.

Well done everyone!

I've decided to look at my staying the same as a positive thing- it's shown me that I have to be diligent in order to get the results I want.
Every time I had a drink at the weekend I kept telling myself 'it won't hurt'- but clearly it won't help either.

I didn't do measurements at the beginning (wish I had done now) but I took photos. I've just taken some more, 3 weeks in and there's a noticeable difference. Definitely more toned all over.

Still a hell of a long way to go tho Wink

sirzy sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I know I lost 1lb this week but feel very much like you. I've lost all the weight gain from ds2 but now struggling with what I held onto from ds1. As its been there so much longer feels a bit of an uphill struggle. Between pregnancies I never got rid of this weight despite many tries so feels like battling an old nemesis who I've yet to conquer!

Just marking my place. I'm not sure if I've lost weight but I just saw somebody who I haven't seen for two weeks and they asked if I had. I think my face looks thinner.

I've lost my appetite a bit for some reason, that is most unlike me. I've been having two meals a day not three for most days and eating small meals not the massive portions I used to have.

Well done everyone! I don't own any scales and sw weigh in is tomorrow so I will have to report back then.

I doubt I've lost this week, I had buffet food, cake and wine at the weekend but I've stuck to having a long walk each day and I've eaten well all week so hopefully will have stayed the same

Well done to everyone here. 3 weeks and not a single pound gained! That is a massive acheivement in itself.

Clarinet that is amazing. 14 on the bottom and 16 on the top is probably ideal for me.

The bra thought for the day really struck a cord. I went to m and s yesterday and they do 1 bra in my size. 42 E. If I coud get down to a 38 DD I would have so much more choice. So that is my daily moritivation.
