The 'Avoid The Quiche' Quiche- Part 2!!!

HenriettaPye · 26/08/2013 19:53

Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

I'd love to be able to wear a maxi dress. I look like a sack of spuds in anything long or belted.

Welcome stitching! It was keeping up with DS which motivated me to start!

Lego hope everyone is better soon. I hate vomit can cope with anything else but not that!

phantomhairpuller · 28/08/2013 18:50

Lego, it's vomit central here too. Only in our house its a deliberate thing. DS1s latest tactic to delay bedtime Angry

I haven't eaten yet and I'm bloody starving! And a large red wind would go down sooo well after I've cleaned up! Damn it Confused

Well I have lost 3.5 lbs in my first week. I know it is good, but I do still feel a little disappointed :( Any week but my first I would be thrilled, but I would have hoped for nearer 5, especially with the amount of swimming I have done.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 28/08/2013 19:29

3.5lb is a quater of a stone. That is great any week!

Oh I look like that too lego. I have 1 long ish dreaa any others are above my knee as I always thought my legs were ok. However having broken my ankle and not used 1 leg for a month they are now different sizes so trousers it is for me for a while

Thank you Sirzy Smile.

Yes, there's nothing like having super fast fit kids to make you realise how old you are! Grin

Lorelai, brilliant start!

Resolve well and truly broken. Just had a huge row with my dad. I'm so upset, me and my dad never row.
I'm sitting here in tears with a glass of wine and too upset to eat Sad

I don't want sympathy, just a giant kick up the arse Confused

Report
IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 28/08/2013 20:13

Ah phantom a glass of wine wont hut its several bottles that will do for you. Look back at the other thread. When I had differences with my family it all looked a lot brighter after an early night and with a fresh new day.

Hope things work out

YellowCanary1 · 28/08/2013 20:24

Ah phantom, I hope things improve - I hate rowing with my parents as well, so sympathise.

My brother delivered an interesting 'compliment' today by saying, without prompts, 'oh your arse doesn't look like the back end of a double decker bus anymore, you're officially a single decker'. Knowing my brother, I know this is meant as a compliment, just delivered only as a brother knows how!

Reading this thread is just so motivating, really helps to keep me focused. Both the great weight loss stories and people's losses this week (well done all!) but also when people have gained I think don't worry you're fine, bodies fluctuate, it's part of the journey and learning to deal with those weeks is what will make you succeed in the long term etc. and then I thought why can I see that so clearly for other people but when it happens to me I just get disheartened and lose my motivation to go on.

So my thought for today is to look at myself as if I was someone else! In a good way if you know what I mean!

Annoyingly though I was in such a rush this morning I forgot to weigh myself. Will try to remember tomorrow Smile

HenriettaPye · 28/08/2013 21:30

Imustbepatient- that's a fantastic thought. We should look at ourselves the way we would look at someone else- if it was someone else who had gained I would be saying 'don't worry about it' 'it's just a blip' 'put it behind you and move on'

Instead I've been in grouchy form all day, feeling rubbish Hmm

You missed my WI out, it was 1lb.

So we've collectively lost 19.5lbs Grin

Total since thread started:
Week 1 28lbs
Week 2 46.9
Week 3 19.5

Total of 94.4lbs which is equal to this record breaking burger (oh the irony)

Well done everyone!

Well done everyone. Loads of good losses this week.

I wi on a Saturday and missed it this week because we went out for the day, so I'll have 2 weeks progress to report next week.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I lost 2lb, so that is just 8 miserable, friggin, bastarding ounces off my first stone.
Hen, two muffins will not make you put on 4lb, (not unless they came in at 3500 calories) but the water your body will hold as a means to process them effectively will weigh a bit. It will come of this week if you stay on the healthy stuff!
