Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Typical day for me on WW

Breakfast

4 WW sausages
Tin of chopped tomatoes
1 slice brown toast

Mid morning
Bag of wotsits
1fab lolly
2 nectarines

Lunch
1 pack of new Coventry garden carrot soup
Slice of brown toast cut into dipping strips

Mid afternoon
Big bowl of melon and grapes
Bag of discos.

Supper
salmon fillet baked in foil with lemon
Cauliflower rice (grate cauliflower, cook in microwave for 5 mins)
Broccoli
Courgettes

Evening snacks
Pck of wotsits
2 WW chocolate biscuits
Orange and an apple.

Yes, 3 packs of crisps may look excessive, but they can be incorporated, and thus I don't feel guilty or as if I have done 'wrong' and it stops me going off the rails.
I just love the ability to add points as you go. I have done calorie counting before, and that was always so tedious, writing everything down.

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 16:57

I too enjoy the new way WW works. No counting fruit and vegetables definitely works and the fact you have 49 extra points a week to use as to please also helps and doesn't make you feel guilty about having an extra unexpected treat now and again.

And if 3 packets of crisps is within your points, then why the hell not. I'd rather have proper sausages than the WW ones though.

Hi everyone, I'm back. What did I miss?!

I will sit down later and read back the week's thread - I did have a peek on Weds after weigh-in, well done on some great losses on our first week.

My week's holiday was as bad as I feared - too much sitting in the car, visiting different people every day for more food and alcohol. On the plus side, I did eat a lot of fish and salads, managed to get out for a run one morning and did a Gorilla workout. Also did a few walks around Hadrians Wall so got some good hill climbs in.

I'm dreading getting on the scales though. I can't decide whether to weigh myself now and scare the bejeesus out of myself, or whether to wait until Weds to weigh in and hopefully have a good few days before then to repair some damage Hmm

SamanthaJones · 17/08/2013 19:13

Hello everyone. Natalie, I'm the same weight as you and I'm aiming for 12 stone too. Have had a bug which is horrid but on the upside I can't eat so...

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 19:16

I think there is a Toni and Guy academy in Manchester

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 19:17

CQ - weigh now at least then you know your biggest as your start point which means it will look like you have lost more in the long run!

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 21:07

Really fancied something sweet and had a fair few points left,so have just made myself a schmore. Yum! Has definitely filled the sweet craving.

IsaacCox · 17/08/2013 21:25

Ive just been out for dinner. Skipped the starter, had a diet 7up instead of wine. Then had roast veg, chicken and chilli linguine (sp?) with 2 pieces of garlic bread then 1/2 a chocolate fudge cake and a bit of custard. I was really looking forward to the fudge cake because it used to be my favourite, it was so moist etc but it was such a let down. I didn't enjoy it at all.

Hoping it doesn't do too much damage to the scales.

Lay and Lego my sweet treat is a meringue with low fat greek yogurt( I strain this through kitchen paper and a sieve so it goes really thick and creamy) with berries and a squeeze of honey. A bowl works out at just 3-4 points and it is so indulgent you don't feel you have to attack the choccies

Had another on and off week. I don't have the heart to be full on atm so I am trying to just maintain until September when I can get cycling to college and the kids are at school so I have spare time. I have a lot of decorating to do so that should keep me away from the kitchen.

Weigh in tomorrow so hoping for staying the same.

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 21:45

Pin not a fan of meringue. Normally not a sweet fan, head for the crisps. Having the period from hell so think my body needed the sugar boost.

itsonlyme85 · 17/08/2013 22:01

Hi ladies, is there room in here for 1 more? I really need all the help i can get. Im 27 i am 4ft 11 and weigh 15stone!! Iv just seen a photo of me on the dreaded facebook, got to admit im so disgusted. I go to aerobics every week and weigh in and the machine tells me my ideal weight is 6 1/2 to 8 1/2. Ideally id like to aim for 8 stone , as u can tell i have loads to loose so here goes.. Loving reading all the progress u should all be very pleased x. Im attempting the 5:2 diet as of monday. Wish me luck

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 22:02

What size meringue do you have? Are they the standard supermarket size, about 2-3 inches across? How many points are they?

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 22:03

Good luck itsonlyme!

Debs75 · 17/08/2013 22:34

Yes Lay they are only 1pp

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 22:41

lego what is a schmore?

well my DP had a Chinese takeaway tonight whilst I had an M & S count on us chicken fettucine! It was a treat for me anyway as I wouldn't normally buy M & S but they were on offer - still not quite as tasty though!!

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 22:42

welcome its only me good luck Smile

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 22:50

Oh I like the M&S fuller longer stuff. Nice and tasty.

A schmore is an American thing (which I'm not) but I improvise by melting one marshmallow and sandwiching it between two chocolate digestives (choc on the inside). Only 5pp and mega sweet.

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 23:06

Thanks Debs75! Shame the supermarket is now closed! Fab sweet fix!

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 23:09

ooh I've never heard of that - sounds very sweet and very nice!

MiaWallace · 18/08/2013 07:39

Well I had my cheat day yesterday and came in at 2600 calories!

It could have been worse. Glad I tracked on my cheat day because I could have consumed double that other wise.

Had a small party and drunk way too much. Alcohol was 1000 calories alone.

I'm hoping I haven't done too much damage and I still manage to lose this week.

I've decided not to have any more full on cheat days. Will have a fortnightly cheat meal instead.

Welcome to the thread itsonlyme

Sirzy · 18/08/2013 07:42

I think sometimes cheat days are needed!

I am taking DS out for breakfast then going to see planes this morning. Not quite sure if anything on the menu at frankie and bennies will be diet friendly but i am working on as we are getting there around 10 it sort of replaces breakfast and lunch!

ChestyNut · 18/08/2013 09:59

Can I ask those of you who have a lot to loose how you keep motivated?

I have around 9 stone to loose Blush
It just seems such a long never ending road Sad

YellowCanary1 · 18/08/2013 10:01

Definitely having a down few days recently. Feeling worse about my weight today than I did 2 stone ago! I think its down to ds2 not sleeping brilliantly so very tired, hence crave more sugary foods and the diet/ my weight becomes more of a focus! Need to snap out of it and get back to positivity and enjoying the healthier foods!

IsaacCox · 18/08/2013 14:31

Welcome and good luck Itsonlyme

Hi Chesty, my motivation comes and goes in waves. I just try to keep going when I don't have much motivation, it's hard but I normally give up when motivation goes, I don't want to give up this time. I just keep pushing through and the support on here is great. The daily reminders on here that we write helps too. Also having something to fit in to or an event or a goal helps. Taking it in smaller chunks too. Take it in 1/2 stones.

Hope you feel better soon Yellow. 2 stone loss is amazing, you've come so far. Keep going :)

My daily reminder today is I don't want to feel like I have to wear long cardigans or coats etc when I go out so when I sit down it covers me iykwim (especially when it's nice weather and I'm sweltering in a long sleeved cardi!) And that there's no chance my massive bum will be on show Blush I can't wait to go out in just a tshirt (trousers too Grin) and not be bothered about my arms or if I reach something off a top shelf etc that my back/stomach might show a bit.

LayMizzRarb · 18/08/2013 14:44

Next time you go to the supermarket, go to the butter counter. Stack 14 blocks of butter at the end of your trolley. Just look at them. That is the volume of half a stone of body fat, they have around the same density.

That half a stone was hiding on your body.

Now take a photo of it on your phone.

Just think how much better you will feel when twice that amount has disappeared!
