Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Mia I love it. I get it from Tesco. It's my favourite treat to have at the moment especially as there seems to be loads in the bag :) I have the sweet and salty.

LegoAcupuncture · 16/08/2013 21:52

Ive found I'm pretty regular, think its the sultana bran in the morning Grin

I've treat (treated) myself to some nice underwear, been a while since I've bought nice underwear.

MiaWallace · 17/08/2013 07:31

Thanks Isaac. Going to try and get some today.

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 07:39

Morning all :) I had a cheeky midweek way in and have lost 1lb so hopefully by Wednesday will be at 2!

YellowCanary1 · 17/08/2013 08:52

WeLl done sirzy.
I went out with a friend to our local indian last, first time away from baby apart from half hour runs, so felt a bit odd but was fun. Though I tried to be very careful and pick healthy dishes, I'm dreading calculating the calories! Super good day/weekend needed today I think!

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 08:53

Well done Sirzy.

Have just had tinned tomatoes on toast with a poached egg and feel stuffed!

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 09:41

Indian sounds good!

My daily reminder today is that I want to be able to wear a bikini top and not look like a blob!

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 10:14

4 WW sausages, tin of chopped tomatoes, on a slice of brown toast.

Breakfast of champions for 7 PP!

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 10:42

My reminder - I've not been to the hairdressers for years. I want to be able to go and get pampered and not sit there grimacing at my own reflection.

HenriettaPye · 17/08/2013 10:55

Morning all! Today is DDs first birthday! Can't believe it's a year already. Will have some cake later but will try and say no to buns and other party food- after yesterday's disaster I could do with just eating lettuce for a day or two! Ha! Smile
I will treat myself to a glass of bubbly later though to celebrate getting through the first year Wink

My daily reminder is that I want to actually believe my husband when he tells me I look nice.

Happy birthday to your DD Henrietta and you definitely deserve to celebrate!

My daily reminder is similar to your lego I want to feel confident enough to go clothes shopping and not just buy everything from the internet!

Sirzy · 17/08/2013 11:16

Hope you all have a lovely day henrietra

LegoAcupuncture · 17/08/2013 11:36

Happy birthday to your daughter Henrietta.

Anyone else doing he squat challenge? I'm on day 6, done 75 today and they are not as hard as they were on day 1.

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 11:41

Lego - I want to sit in the hairdressers chair without fear of breaking it! I think a couple of stones off should do it. Already 9lbs off in 2 weeks Grin

IsaacCox · 17/08/2013 12:01

Well done Sirzy

Happy Birthday to you dd Henrietta

My daily reminder is I don't want days where I don't leave the house as I'm ashamed and embarrassed of myself and feel awkward in my clothes.

IsaacCox · 17/08/2013 12:02

Yes Lego I am. I'm on day 4 today. Compared to doing the plank, I'd go so far as to say I love squats Grin

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 12:51

Morning all,

Happy 1st birthday to your DD Henrietta hope you all have a lovely day!

I can always relate to everyone's daily reminders. Lego I hate having to sit in front of the mirror looking at myself and I dread going to new hairdressers in case I don't fit into the gown or even the chair!! I desperately need a haircut but don't have any spare cash and so I am waiting for a Groupon/Wowcher deal but all the ones recently have been for 'posh' salons that I'm too scared to go to!

Issac its reassuring to know someone else has days like this. Mine are mostly in the summer when I can't cover up - the times when most people want to be out in the sunshine I want to hide!

My reminder for today is to try and get some self confidence so I feel ok about myself rather than feel crap all majority of the time.

Well done LayMizz that's a great loss in 2 weeks - how are you doing it?

MiaWallace · 17/08/2013 13:59

blooming heck. Trying to track my cheat day on MFP and I'm already on 1200. I have put tonight drinks on in anticipation (Haven't started drinking yet!).

Won't be having roast dinner now though. Going to have a small party this evening so knocked the roast dinner on the head.

I'm another who is in desperate need of a trip to the hairdressers (been over a year). I hide behind long hair but would love a smart bob. That can be my daily reminder: being able to have my haircut in a style I want.

Hope you and DD have a lovely day Henrietta.

TiredNursey · 17/08/2013 14:04

MissElodie.
I am usually on a budget, so I get my hair cut in the Vidal Sassoon academy. There are a few near me in London.
A cut cost me £8 and i had highlights done last week (to hide the grey) for £30
You have to be prepared to sit for 3 hrs but come out with a decent cut. (The teacher inspects frequently to avoid mishaps)
And you only ever see the hairdresser once.
I too avoid mirrors and photos. And hate looking at my chins in the haidresser. And the light is sooo unflattering anyway.
I'd say over the last 8 yrs, I've been in a photo precicely once and that was at my nieces christening, where I was Goddaughter, so had no choice.
I have to fix it..... Not necessarily the photos but the double and triple chins!

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 14:15

I'm doing WW online. I find it really easy to follow, and put every single thing in my phone that I eat. I love the fact you can have almost unlimited fruit and veg. I always have grapes/melon chunks on my desk at work, instead of crisps or peanuts. If I'm hungry at home I heat some tinned toms, then blitz with some soy sauce. Kills hunger dead!

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 14:27

You CAN do it missellodie, everyone gets down days. Whenever I go out, it's not a case of 'if' someone takes the piss or makes a rude comment, more a case of 'when'.
I stopped eating in restaurants in this country a few years ago as I don't want to be stared at with every mouthful I eat. People are so downright rude. And It's something that seems to be more apparent in this country. I have traveled to many countries and people here are definitely the nastiest I have encountered.
Saddest thing is, that the perpetrators often have children with them. Awful to think they will go into school and imitate their parents behaviour.

HorsesDogsGuineapigs · 17/08/2013 14:36

Oops, haven't been back on here for a while.

I'm the largest in my family, they don't understand. I also have mental health problems, they don't understand that either.

I hate having photos taken, haven't had one since October...

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 15:40

I'll look into a hairdresser academy TiredNursery thanks - I'm in Manchester so there's probably something like that near me. I don't think they could go too wrong as I just have boring long hair. Like you mia I think when I lose weight I might choose something a bit different!

Thanks LayMizz I would just like to go out thinking people are looking at me or comparing myself to everyone else and thinking how much slimmer/prettier/happier than me they are! I WILL go out with my head held high one day!

WW online sounds good with the almost unlimited fruit and veg - I'm counting calories at the moment but I tend to give myself 'free' vegetables (except sweetcorn and potatoes) as that's what I did when I did the Slimming diet many moons ago. I myself am not keen on diets which restrict fruit and veg (is Atkins like that?) as I tend to pile my plate high with veg or salad to make myself think I'm eating loads! In fact the amount I eat probably does tot up into quite a few calories so maybe I should start to include it in my allowance!

MissElodie · 17/08/2013 15:53

mia you're very good even tracking your calories on a cheat day - I think if I was on a treat day I'd overindulge so much I wouldn't want to know how many calories I'd had! Smile

LayMizzRarb · 17/08/2013 15:57

I love the unlimited veg rule! WW range of foods can also be helpful. They do a jar of sweet and sour sauce, and I toss an enormous amount of bean sprouts, water chestnuts, stir fry veg in it. As a snack!
They also do wraps, I use them as a pizza base, and load them with veg and WW cheese.
Online it works out at £3 a week. Before, I would spend that on a bar of chocolate and some crisps....
