Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Yesterday wasn't too successful... I was pretty good during the day ( though weakened and had a couple of bits of baguette that a friend brought round to eat with our salad lunch - with butter Blush). But then I went out in the evening to have a gossip in the pub with a friend and we shared a bottle of wine. That tipped me well over my calorie goal. Will have to be extra good today to make up for it.

Love the name Root!

Hope everyone has a good day. I need to take up some exercise as I haven't yet - ive never found one i like! however, if the baby does nap this afternoon I'm heading out to do done strenuous gardening...

Oh yes, I forgot about the daily reminder. That pain sounds awful Elodie, hope you're ok now. Mine is to bring my blood pressure down. The last time I had it checked the nurse said it was much higher than what it should be for someone of my age. My grandad died at 46 from a heart attack (only a couple of weeks after I was born :() I don't want the same to happen to me.

Ps. I'm wearing a pair of size 18 skinny jeans today and I feel great Grin

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 09:34

I could just eat some baguette with butter now Birding Grin Draw a line under and have a good day today.

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 09:35

My reminder is to be able to run around with DS like I am starting to be able to.

A few months ago a game of chase or race to the bell at nursery would have left me breathless but now it doesn't as much!

Katydid02 · 15/08/2013 10:16

Ouch. I had gallstones once and the pain was enough that I stuck to a fat free diet for a year whilst waiting for surgery. Since the surgery my motivation has gone and I've gained weight :(
The pain was the worst thing I have ever had, I was on my own in the house with the children, luckily it was the middle of the night and I was so close to calling an ambulance.

LegoAcupuncture · 15/08/2013 11:47

Love the name change Root Grin

A bit tmi I had a dream last night that I was prancing around my bedroom in lovely underwear in front of my DH. I was thin and not at all bothered about him looking at me as I am now. So my reminder is that. Ant to be confident to do that.

MILLYMOLLYMANDYMAX · 15/08/2013 11:47

Well 1st day over 1lb down. Think I am going to cope with food but cannot do without my cups of tea which I take with sugar. Trying to stick to 20 carbs per day and 1 cup of tea is taking up 5 of my daily allowance for carbs. Could really do with 4 or 5 cups everyday so am really gasping this morning. Just allowing myself 1 cup per day. Water just does not cut it.

RootRelatedInjury · 15/08/2013 11:54

Morning all. Smile

Hope your sister is ok Lego.

I've been to my Gp today about my leg and he thinks I've definitely partly torn my calf muscles. I woke up with cramp in my leg at 4 am this morning find was howling in agony. DH thought I was being murdered.

Daily reminder for me...

I want to do a skydive and I'm too fat to just now! I can't wait until I can!

RootRelatedInjury · 15/08/2013 11:55

That's definitely high on my list of reminders too Lego! Wink

BirdingWidow · 15/08/2013 12:26

Somehow managed to miss the whole of p21 this morning. Congratulations to the losers! I am going to weigh from next Wednesday to be in step with you all, so that will be 9 days on.

The weekend is going to be hard - we are staying with a friend so there will be food and booze... also we are going to a tasting session with a potential wedding caterer. I am going to have to have a mouthful of 4 desserts but then step away! (Really not sure I will be able to...)

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 12:35

Ouch Root waking up with leg cramp is the worst! Skydive Shock you must be mad Grin

I've just done the 30 day shred, it was a bit easier than yesterday. I may go for a walk later too or just go on the wii. I'll be able to go to the gym again tomorrow. I've been waiting in for a few deliveries the past few days and I didn't want to be out incase I missed them and then had to go through the whole rigmarole of rearranging. Going to try and go as many times as I can.

MiaWallace · 15/08/2013 12:50

Thought I had put up my daily reminder but can't seem to find it now.

Daily reminder: Lose weight to be able to wear wedding ring again.

Anyone else with sausage fingers unable to wear their rings?

Hope the leg gets better soon Root.

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 13:18

Mia, I can't get my rings off Blush They've been stuck for years! I have my dads sausage fingers, even my 9st sister have chubby fingers. I'm hoping I'll be able to get them off soon.

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 13:19

I've just ordered a graze box to come weekly. I figured having different lowish calorie treats every week will be good and something to look forward too and will stop me munching loads of rubbish. If anyone wants a free box, use this code WHY1YKM.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/08/2013 13:48

Hello All

Just thought I'd share with you a really delicious lunch I just had with came in under 300 calories and has really filled me up.

Sautee 3 sliced mushrooms in some frylight, add 1/4 tin of chopped tomatoes, 1 tsp of Harissa paste and a handful of spinach. Season to taste. When its bubbling away add an egg, stir in to scramble and stuff into a pitta.

By far the most filling low cal lunch I've had so far and felt like a real treat too.

isaac let us know how you get on with the graze box. I had them for a while but thought they were really expensive so I buy bags of seeds, fruit and nuts and make my own mixes now instead.

Daily Reminder for today : I really want to go snorkelling again on next years holiday without feeling self conscious on the boat.

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 13:54

That sounds lovely English, will have to try it.

I'll let you know. If I don't like it at least the first one was free so no loss :)

Day 2 of the squat challenge done whilst waiting for my innocent veg pot to cook (only had them this week to try as a quick lunch and they're lowish cal too though not really enjoyed them)

overthebliddyhill · 15/08/2013 14:06

Please can I join. I have been trying to lose weight for over two years and am fed up of failing. I have been using MFP for 4weeks now but only lost 5.5 lbs. I am trying to stick to 1400 cals and walking quite lot. What calorie limit are those of you who lost well aiming for?

LegoAcupuncture · 15/08/2013 14:10

I can get my rings on but they are a bit tight so keep them off.

What innocent veg pot are you having Isaac? I had the dhal curry one the other day and it was lovely. Only bought it as was on special at tesco.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/08/2013 14:15

Hello over welcome :) My target is 1400 a day too and same here with walking - its the only exercise I actually enjoy! MY MFP name is Lacienega1974 if you want to add me. I tried doing 1200 calories but found I was often hungry which meant I was more likely to give up so I'm going for the slow progress of 1400 instead.

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 14:36

Welcome over. I aim for about 1200, but a lot of days only actually eat 1000 which I don't think is actually enough!

I have just done the "shred" as well as I could with DS trying to sit on me as I do the crunches!

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 14:44

Welcome over. I aim for about 1400 too but have only been calorie counting a few days, was doing slimming world before. I'm ZoeC1990 if you want to add me.

Lego I got one of every flavour that was on offer. I've had a moussaka (ok), daal (nice), Caribbean jerk (ok), chilli (nice) and have got a Thai coconut curry for tomorrow. Wouldn't pay full price for any of them tbh.

YellowCanary1 · 15/08/2013 16:25

Hello all
Welcome over, I stick to 1500 a day but am bf aswell. I have a big appetite so most of that is made up of vegetables and fruit which fills me up.
mia I've only just been able to get my wedding rings back on and it was such a lovely milestone, well worth aiming for!
Just got back from 2 hour hike with friend and ds2 in carrier so hoping today is a good day weight loss wise.

Aim today - I want to feel confident enough to take ds1 swimming when we go on holiday in 4 weeks time. I think I'll be ok if I've cracked the 13 stone barrier, so thats 10lbs to lose by then.

HenriettaPye · 15/08/2013 17:08

How's everyone's day been? No exercise today- I have a migraine from hell. On the plus side its made me feel too sick to eat all day!

OP posts:
phantomhairpuller · 15/08/2013 17:23

Afternoon ladies Grin

First day on the shakes here (juice plus is a bit like slim fast but so say better for you!) I'd been 'detoxing' all of last week in preparation.
I can honestly say, I didn't really feel hungry all day. Am tucking into quinoa, tuna and cucumber salad as we speak- very nice it is too!

Not much success on the exercises front tho, other than the 'challenges' this morning.

Hope everyone has had a good day, and welcome to all the newbies I've not yet say hello to Grin

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 17:29

Hope you feel better soon henrietra.

I have done 40 minutes on the wii and day 5 of the 30 day shred today. Going to do my squats when DS is in bed.

Just about to have mince with new potatoes for tea.
