Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Well done everyone and thanks Henrietta for doing the list. Grin

Sirzy · 14/08/2013 20:47

Fab list! 28lb is pretty impressive isn't it

JaquelineHyde · 14/08/2013 21:19

Oh no I don't weigh in until Friday Sad does this mean I can't be in the weekly stats? I didn't realise there was an agreed weigh day.

I suspect a gain this week any way as things have not been great but next week I would love to be in on the stats.

What can I do? Sad

HenriettaPye · 14/08/2013 21:24

No worries, if your weigh in is a different day you can post it then, or if you want to be part of our 'official stats' Wink just keep it until Wednesday and post then Smile

JaquelineHyde · 14/08/2013 21:35

Right I am going to weigh in this week as normal (or I may do it tomorrow morning if I feel brave enough) and then do a 5 day week and weigh in on the following Wednesday so I can weigh in with all of you.

So tomorrow or Friday this week and then every Wednesday.

Mia I completely get the doughnut breakthrough, and it does feel really odd to be so happy at having eaten something so shit but the feeling that you are in control finally is amazing and well worth celebrating (not with food Grin ) Well done you!

MissElodie · 14/08/2013 21:47

well done mia on your resolve to stop at one donut - I totally get the not bring able to stop once you start - you've shown great willpower!!

root - hope your painkillers are doing their job!

thanks so much henrietta for doing the weekly weigh in list and for starting this thread - feels good to be doing this as part of a little club! Smile

SamanthaJones · 14/08/2013 21:51

Oh hello everyone, please can I join in?

I was 19stone in January (how embarrassing) and last time I weighed I was 16.5 stone.

I'm doing low carbs because it's the only thing I can stick to.

I REALLY want to be 12 stone, I look ok at 12 stone, so I've got 4.5 stone to go. I've been walking every day, not drinking except at the weekends.

4.5 stone seems SUCH a lot!

Some inspirational stories here, lovely to see a thread with so many losses.

SamanthaJones · 14/08/2013 21:52

Oh and last time I weighed I hadn't lost but when I measured I had, quite a lot, phew!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 14/08/2013 22:00

Wow, great to see such great results - no gains!

Welcome samantha

mia don't feel guilty about the donut. I couldn't resist temptation today and had a 'healthy' banana and seed flapjack which took me over my goal so I went out for a second walk to earn it back.

Just a question as I've been nosing at other diaries on MFP and I am logging far too much tea and coffee which I can't see on any others. What do you all drink? I drink a lot of water and no soft drinks or juice but I'm still having 3 teas and 2 coffees every day.

onetiredmummy · 14/08/2013 22:11

I have 3 coffees per day, I log them under breakfast when I have my first as I have 2 sugars in each so it's important to include them Smile

clarinetV2 · 14/08/2013 22:12

Thanks for the list, Henrietta and welcome Samantha. Haven't we done well this week? Mia, I completely get the thing with the doughnut, that's a fantastic achievement, well done.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 14/08/2013 22:25

I think I lost a lb and a half. I am doing this in kilos because stones freak the hell outta me. The loss may not be this week though. I am going from the last weigh in before i broke my leg and now i am just over half a kilo and a cast lighter. So will just take the just over half a kilo and have an amazing week when the cast comes off.

BlackStiltonBoots · 14/08/2013 23:14

Been mega busy and not weighed in due to dead scales, sorry. Well done everyone!

I have had 2 days of bingeing so god knows what I'll weigh when I finally get on the scales. I feel like such an idiot because it feels like the only way I can soothe myself is stuffing my face. I'm not trying hard enough to change things I know, it's like I'm rebelling against myself.

And I've stayed up too late and will feel crap tomorrow, got a stressful couple of days ahead too. Sad

Sorry for self-pitying post, just feels good to get it out.

Right, I'm going to try and sleep now. Night all.

MiaWallace · 15/08/2013 05:44

I knew you ladies would understand my 'doughnut episode'. Feel happy waking up this morning knowing it's a new day and I'm back on track and not having to worry about dealing with the guilt of a binge.

EnglishGirl I don't drink tea or coffee, never have done. I drink water and will have an occasional glass of pepsi max.

MiaWallace · 15/08/2013 05:48

Sorry Henrietta. Forgot to say Thank you for compiling the list. Thanks

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 08:11

I understand the donut episode one always leads to another so well done! being able to moderate is a great place to be at.

I have 2 cup of tea and a coffee in the morning and 2 cups of tea in the evening the rest of the time I drink water or the occasional sugar free ribena as a 'treat'. I used to drink way to much pop (a 2l bottle every 2 days with just me drinking it) but have cut that out so much so I cant remember my last fizzy drink.

LegoAcupuncture · 15/08/2013 08:18

Morning.

Well done on the losses everyone. Welcome new people.

Had a mare of a day yesterday, sister has left her DH an topped here last night so we had sausagecand mash and huge choc cheesecake. Great comfort food but urgh not good for me!

Still managed squats so that's positive.

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 08:18

Sometimes food is needed lego and that is one of those times. hope everything is ok!

LegoAcupuncture · 15/08/2013 08:25

Thanks sirzy. Not all good, might start a thread as need advice for her.

Katydid02 · 15/08/2013 08:28

Well done on all the losses. I weighed myself yesterday and my scales said I'd lost 5 stone. Therefore I think I need to buy some new ones as I doubt I have lost any weight this week!
What I don't get is that they weigh my DS accurately; he was weighed at his asthma check up and my scales said he weighed the same Confused

Sirzy · 15/08/2013 08:30

good idea lego, hope you get some good advice x

Katy - I want the type of scales that do that! Mine seem to bounce around a bit but not that much. I use the weight from DS hospital appointments to check the accuracy too and for him they always give 15.4kg so they must be right

IsaacCox · 15/08/2013 08:58

Morning all.

Thanks Henrietta for doing that list. 2 stone between those that weighed yesterday is amazing! Well done all.

Well done Mia for your break through.

I hope your sister is ok Lego.

Welcome Samantha :)

English I don't drink tea or coffee. Well I have about 1 cup of tea a year as I tend to get a craving for it just the once Grin I usually drink sugar free juice, water and a bit of sugar free pop. Need to cut down on the fizzy stuff but I get so thirsty that only fizzy stuff will quench. So I think I need more water then.

I want your scales Katy Grin

MissElodie · 15/08/2013 09:20

Morning all,

Welcome Samantha Smile

Black hope you are feeling a bit better today - try not to worry about the binges as there's nothing you can do now but just see today as a new day. Hope the next few days go ok for you. Smile

I hope you sister is doing ok Lego

EnglishGirl I drink a cup of tea in the morning and normally 2 more throughout the day, although I rarely finish them actually as they are always cold by the time I get them thanks to the DC!! I try to have lots of water and I also have a glass of Pepsi Max with my tea every night - which isn't great but at least its no calories!

My daily reminder is to do this for my health to reduce my risk of diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver etc before it is to late. A few months ago I found myself in A & E in the most horrendous pain and I honestly thought I was having a heart attack and was going to die. I felt so ashamed that I had done it to myself. It actually turned out to be gall stones but for a few weeks it shocked me into really healthily as I thought it was like a warning (and I was terrified of getting that pain again) but I soon slipped back into my own ways Angry. This time I will do it Grin

HenriettaPye · 15/08/2013 09:25

Good morning everyone.

My daily reminder is that I want to feel comfortable wearing what ever I want.

Another diet coke addict here! I know it's got no calories and my old slimming world consultant said you can drink as much as you want but I do think my weightloss would be quicker if I gave it up!
