Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Well have had a reasonably healthy week. Still following slimming world, but on Sunday evening had a bad craving for cake. I ate fruit and drank water but it didnt fix the urge. So i made a quick microwave syrup pudding/cake.
It was lovely mind you but hardly healthy.

Even if I've not lost in the morning though, I have actually eaten healthier this week than I have for the past year. Exercising is still an issue, as had foot op, but improving so hopefully by next month, I should have started back at the gym. I'm currently effectively gifting them £39 every month.
Tell you what though, all the fruit and veg I am buying is going to bankrupt me.

MiaWallace · 14/08/2013 06:57

Lost 6lb this week. Very happy!

Gone from 15st 5 to 14st 13

Good luck everyone who is weighing in today

phantomhairpuller · 14/08/2013 06:57

First weigh in and... nothing!! I've stayed exactly the same Hmm

Apart from the honey roasted cashew's on Sunday I've been really bloody good this week. It's the healthiest I've eaten in a very long time!

And this is the reward I get Sad

Hope everyone else gets a better result than me

LegoRelatedInjury · 14/08/2013 07:18

Morning all. Smile

Daily reminder for me today is...

To live longer for my children and hopefully avoid diabetes etc.

Weigh in... Stayed the same but I'm not bothered as I only weighed myself a few days ago and I've got my period. Weight 17st 11lb.

Well done on that weightless Mia
Don't be disheartened Paranoid. Keep going!

TiredNursey · 14/08/2013 07:28

Down 3 lbs today.
Not too bad considering the cakes etc. :)
That's the start. Just another 100 or so to go.
So if I can stay motivated this time next year, I should be about 11st 7lb going at average of 2lbs per week.
Slowly does it, said the Tortoise to the Hare.

TiredNursey · 14/08/2013 07:32

Aagh pressed post too soon.
Wish we had a 5 minute window to edit posts.

Anyway, Phantom, dont give up.
The important thing is that you have eaten healthily. Which is a lot harder than you would think! Keep going, you will see the benefits.
Holy Crap Mia, thats a lot. Grin Well done.
Lego, good motivation goals. (And as you said, youve only just started.)

clarinetV2 · 14/08/2013 07:34

Morning everyone. Just weighed myself, and I've lost one pound this week which is fine - weight loss is slow now and some weeks I don't lose anything perceptible at all.

Starting weight: 15 stone 2 (in August 2012!)
Weight today: 9 stone 7
Goal: 9 stone 2

Fantastic result, Mia. Disappointing for you, phantom, but try not to be down-hearted as it does vary from week to week - i know that I've had several weeks in the last year when I haven't appeared to lose anything but it goes in the end. Keep at it. Good luck with today's weight-in, everyone.

Sirzy · 14/08/2013 07:40

Well done to those who have lost.

I have stayed the same this week but not too upset I know my diet hasn't been great and I am trying more for the long term so the odd bad week doesn't Matter too much. I am feeling much healthier and have just had to buy size 16 jeans so they are better indications really!

Sirzy · 14/08/2013 07:43

So my totals -

Start - 15stone 11 (may 2013)
Today - 13 stone 13
Goal - 9 stone 11

So still another 4 stone 2 to go, but 1 stone 11 gone never to be seen again!

YellowCanary1 · 14/08/2013 07:53

Well done all for the losses! Really good going!! Smile

I only weighed myself last Friday so this is just half the week loss, but gone down 2lbs. Grin

DS2 born 3rd June
on 7th June weighed in at 16 stone
Today - 13 stone 9
Goal - 11 stone 7

2stone 4lbs gone, 2 stone 2lbs to go! yippee past the halfway mark!!!!

Sirzy · 14/08/2013 07:54

Well done yellow!

YellowCanary1 · 14/08/2013 07:55

PS great loss mia and clarinet just looked at your totals, that's really impressive! You must feel so proud of yourself. Grin

YellowCanary1 · 14/08/2013 07:59

sirzy I agree with you, not a disaster at all if you don't lose each week, it really is about the bigger picture!

IsaacCox · 14/08/2013 08:00

Wow Mia that's amazing, losing 6lb and getting into the next stone bracket. Well done.

Don't give up Phantom, hopefully you'll have a massive loss next week :)

Well done all losers and those that stayed the same.

I've lost 1lb this morning. Which is ok for me as I've had half a bad week, plus I've changed from doing slimming world to calorie counting half way through the week. I was wondering, is 1lb the equivalent as 4 packs of butter?

A non victory scale this morning is when I got up I noticed myself in the mirror as I was opeing the curtains and thought "wow, I've lost my love handles" Grin

My stats-
Starting weight- 17st 11
Today- 16st 8
17lb lost :)

Though on MFP it says 18lb lost as that's how much I've lost since I was at my heaviest.

My daily reminder today is- to be able to wear what I want and not stuff that covers my massive stomach. Bye bye long vest tops under tshirts that I have to keep pulling down Grin

Have a great day all :)

phantomhairpuller · 14/08/2013 08:06

Thanks for the supportive words Smile

Actually, thinking about it, I'm not too disheartened, I feel so much better because I've been eating healthily and i'm sure my clothes are feeling a bit looser. Wish I'd taken measurements on first day really!

I've also just got AF, first one since DS2 was born 14 weeks ago so possibly that's meant I'm retaining a bit of water? Who knows!

Ah well, onwards and upwards as they say.

Well done everyone Grin

BoysWillGrow · 14/08/2013 08:17

hi, well done every one even the non loss' at least its not a gain is what i think. Smile
I've lost 2 and a bit lbs so I'm pleased its something.

and come on amazon how long do i have to wait for the wii fit game to turn up Hmm

HenriettaPye · 14/08/2013 08:28

Well done everyone!! I've lost 2lb this week- was hoping for a bit more but aw well. I said my goal was 2lb a week so I'm happy.
Aw phantom- stick at it, I'm sure you will get a loss next week if you keep going! Could be water retention or anything!

I'm gonna be out most of the day, will make a list of all our weigh in results later!

Sorry Phantom, I called you Paranoid by mistake.

Well done in the weight loss everyone!

phantomhairpuller · 14/08/2013 09:07

I figured you meant me Lego Wink

onetiredmummy · 14/08/2013 09:10

Well done everyone Smile a 4lb loss for me to report

Phantom perhaps you've lost inches instead. I find the hardest bit is to carry on after a week of no loss, I generally have a tantrum and bury myself in crisps and self pity. I know how it feels , but don't give up, deep breath and try again x

LegoAcupuncture · 14/08/2013 09:40

Well done everyone on the losses.

Phantom, def water retention if you've just come on.

I'm not weighing myself until next Monday when it is my weigh in day. If I way myself today and I've lost then ill think "oh I've lost this week, no need to keep trying". Will update my weight on Wednesday with everyone else though :)

MissElodie · 14/08/2013 10:14

well done everyone, we're all doing really well Grin

phantom yes AF has a lot to answer for - thats great you're not disheartened - you will def lose next week if you carry on the way you have Smile

clarinet that's a brilliant weight loss - you must look and feel so different to this time last year.

mia that's a great loss - well done!

I would be so chuffed with getting a size 16 pair of jeans sirzy that's great!

I have lost 5 pounds - yay! Grin

I'm with you on your daily reminder issac - oh to not have to do the constant top pulling down! Mine for today is to not have a bad back every morning when I wake up so I have to heeeaaave myself out of bed!

imustbepatient · 14/08/2013 10:21

Hi all, well done everyone on your losses! Phantom you are the same as me, as I've had no loss this week either.

I was resigned to that being the case though as have had family visiting from other side of the world, hosted a big family and friends event at the weekend and generally have still been in a holiday mind set!

Am determined to stay on track this week though and hopefully start to see the scales going down next week.

Phantom I'm sure you'll have a great loss next week. I know when I've dieted in the past, I often don't lose the first week which can be so disheartening when others have fantastic losses. But I have always lost good weight as the weeks go on, am just a slow starter!

Best of luck everyone for the week ahead and for next week's weigh in. Grin

MissElodie · 14/08/2013 10:21

yellow sorry for your family's loss - I hope you get a dress sorted. Sorry I don't have any suggestions as I'm not great at dresses - the couple I own are maxi dresses Shock

And well done on getting past halfway - yay!

magentastardust · 14/08/2013 11:25

Okay , this thread sounds great for me -so many of you with similar type weightlosses to achieve . We are hoping to go away next July on holiday so my goal is to be size 14/small 16 for then. It gives me something to focus on which is good.
I can't join properly until next week , but I am going to have a proper read through of this thread befriend you all on MFP (that was a big help in me losing almost 3 stone last year) and look up some of the squats etc challenges so I am all prepared to go.

I can do this when I am motivated and have support , the last 8 -10 months have been pretty hard going for several reasons so just let all my hard work go and just couldn't get back to being motivated.

However this thread has excited me and things are looking up so I am ready to get going again to see some changes! :)
