Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Morning all. Anyone any idea how much a leg cast weighs? I weighed myself this morn and I weigh what i did before the cast went on so essentially i have lost the weight of the cast....

HenriettaPye · 13/08/2013 10:16

A daily reminder is a great idea!

Mine is so I have more energy to play with my children and if I lose weight I won't feel so self conscious when out in public

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 10:29

I'm with you on that one too!

I think I could think of a different reminder every day until I've lost the 8 Stone I want to lose. Sad

HenriettaPye · 13/08/2013 10:36

I probably could too. Sad

Remember Quiche-Avoiders tomorrow is our first official weigh in!!

I am taking my official start from there as I only weighed myself a few days ago.

We can do this! I feel so much more in control of my life when I know I'm eating healthily.

katydid02 · 13/08/2013 10:40

Oh no, thank goodness my snack is mango and melon and not crisps like yesterday like I used to do.
I too am Internet shopping, all the talk of autumn has made me realise that the birthday season is coming and so is Christmas.

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 10:43

I have so many social things coming up in the next few months (a rarity for me) and I'm determined to go and feel proud of who I am.

I can't wear track suit bottoms to a night out unfortunately. Blush

HenriettaPye · 13/08/2013 10:47

Me too. 8 weeks today until my best friend gets married- so I want to look nice for that. My DDs first birthday is this weekend, if I'm really good every other day I will allow myself some cake and DH and I have a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for that night (when kids are in bed) Smile

That sounds lovely. You will deserve that cake and bubbly. Smile

YellowCanary1 · 13/08/2013 11:06

My weight always used to vary by about 1 stone but was always in healthy bmi, until I had my children. I was left with 2.5 stone after ds1 and then 4st after ds2. I want to feel good about myself again! I don't want to feel frumpy and unconfident!
I have a whole set of beautiful gypsy skirts and dresses (my style I suppose) that I cannot wait to get back into! I want to be the mummy I picture in my head!

MissElodie · 13/08/2013 11:09

Great idea to have a daily reminder.

I sometimes go through my day thinking - well if I wasn't overweight it wouldn't be like that or if I was slim I could...etc etc so I will chose the first one (of the many) of the day.

Todays is....I will be able to choose clothes that I feel comfortable wearing and maybe even look nice rather than just covering everything (apart from my huge tummy which there is no disguising) up.

Going to make sure I'm good today for official weigh day tomorrow!

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 11:17

I totally know what you mean Yellow. In my head I still feel like my slim self but on the outside I'm someone else.

MissElodie- you will get there! So will I! Smile

MissElodie · 13/08/2013 11:20

yellow I have some lovely gypsy style skirts I would love to get back into too - hopefully by next summer!

I would love to just see something I like and be able to wear it! I often feel frumpy and unfashionable compared to other people and I'm determined to change that!

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 11:24

I'm off for a bit of dancing with the Xbox kinect now. Need to shift some weight before the big weigh in tomorrow!

HeySoulSister · 13/08/2013 11:35

Thanks everyone. I loved every minute. 4 hours it took to climb up Ben Nevis summit, and I was gently panting the whole time, so heart rate was up. For four hours. Same with other two mountains for less time.

But scales showing a pound loss. Every muscle I have has been used and is gently aching. I ate little compared to my team mates. Hoping to have achieved something... Maybe built muscle/toned existing muscle etc. booked a sports massage as a treat too

Back to low carb eating now.... 3 pounds to lose to reach 5 stone loss

Today I'm having chicken with veg and a cheese and salami salad tonight. Scrambled eggs with spinach and cheese was brekkie.

HenriettaPye · 13/08/2013 12:52

Well my mum took the DC today so had a quick tidy up and then went out a walk. Sun was shining so was wearing a vest top, slightly cool but didn't think I would need a coat. Got about a third of a way along my route (about 25 mins walk) when the heavens opened and I got caught in a torrential rain shower! I stood under a tree thinking it would go off but it didn't so I had to turn and go back. It was horrible I am absolutely drenched, cold, and a horrible car beeped at me and was laughing out the window SadSad

Love the idea of a daily reminder. Today mine is to not feel ashamed of my body and have more confidence.

I'm weirdly looking forward to weighing in tomorrow even though I've not been 100% this week. Have been really good yesterday and today so far so hopefully will get a loss.

IsaacCox · 13/08/2013 12:59

Oh no, that's awful Henrietta, just ignore the idiots.

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 13:06

Henrietta Sad I hope a bird shits in their eye! How mean of them. Angry

I am looking forward to weighing in too Isaac. Don't think I will have lost much as I only weighed myself the other day but it feels good to be doing something about it all.

paranoidmother · 13/08/2013 13:15

Hi Can I join? I'm needing to lose about 10 stone if possible, I've lost just over 30 lbs at the moment.

Have been using the Wii fit for 60 minutes of step each day followed by Rosie C's Day 1-28 toning programme on you tube which seems to have helped I feel better and been doing this programme for 3 weeks.
Have been trying to lose weight since september and have managed to cut down calories to between 1200-1600 per day. Cutting out all butter and spread helped to start off with.
Now I've got to find something else to do.

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 13:18

Hi Paranoid. Smile

Come and talk here to distract yourself. Well done on your weightloss!

YellowCanary1 · 13/08/2013 13:59

May sound a silly question but what is the problem with 'too few calories'?
Looking back through my food journal I've notched a few days of 900 calories-ish - not particularly on purpose but if kids have kept me really busy etc, and I've avoided picking on 'bad' foods so ended up not having breakfast or lunch maybe. I am ebf but haven't had any under supply issues - more the opposite in fact!

Sirzy · 13/08/2013 14:02

I think if you under eat your metabolism slows down which makes losing weight harder.

LegoAcupuncture · 13/08/2013 15:06

Afternoon everyone.

Debs I am also doing WW.

I was very disappointed at my lunch choice today, 14 PP on a Greggs tuna sandwich Shock. May as well have had a pasty instead for 12 pp.

Have a huge headache today, probably because I've not had my usual bottle of full fat coke.

katydid02 · 13/08/2013 15:13

Well we went out for lunch, sticking to my diet was easy as the food had just been put in front of me when a fly landed on it and proceeded to die on top of it. We won't be going there again, there were a lot of flies in the restaurant but we didn't notice them when we walked in. Also, the waiter brought a pot of tooth picks to the table and dropped one on the floor but picked it up and put it back in the pot.

Sadly it's a place with a lot of good trip advisor reviews, I was very disappointed.
