Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Good idea, if I put some fruit in it would seem like a nice treat :)

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 14:29

I used to make a big bowl of it and munch some whenever I felt hungry but it wasn't time to eat yet. Blush

HenriettaPye · 12/08/2013 14:38

I have just been having a yoghurt for pudding, after dinner I always really crave something sweet. Starting to get fed up with yoghurts though!

A few squares of 70% cocoa chocolate would be a nice treat occasionally but it's whether I trust myself to stick to a few squares!

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 15:09

I put chocolate squares into the freezer as that makes you eat them slower so less likely to over eat on them.

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 17:10

Just entered tonights tea into MFP to see where I was up to - only used 898 out of my 1200 calories today, and used up 500 with exercise. I guess i will need to have some supper tonight so it doesn't tell me off for undereating!

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 17:30

That's a great idea Sirzy!

Enjoy eating a hearty dinner tonight. I'm having chicken stir fry but have to wait till DH gets home.

SummerHoliDidi · 12/08/2013 17:33

I've been really good all day today. I've been decorating so no time to snack, just stuck to breakfast and lunch, but I'm not sure what to do for dinner. I haven't done any exercise other than shifting furniture and painting, but that's more than nothing.

BlackStiltonBoots · 12/08/2013 18:01

Hi everyone, well done on everyone's losses so far, you are all doing great!

SoulSister congratulations! What a fantastic achievement!

Henrietta You lucky thing! Envy The cruise will be great motivation for you.

For puddings I use those baby weaning pots and fill with fruit and jelly, or angel delight. Not the healthiest but satisfies my after meal sugar craving, plus it's a bit more interesting than a yoghurt.

Today has been a 'bad' day, though not as bad as they have been. I've eaten toast; fishfingers, chips and beans; and turkey sandwich crisps and a chocolate bar Blush BUT I haven't eaten between meals and I've done day 2 of the gorilla workout... Am feeling it now, sore all over! My muscles were trembling afterwards [seriously unfit emoticon].

Just going to have a dance about with the DDs who are currently bouncing around on a big sheet of bubble wrap Hmm Grin. It's all exercise right?

LegoAcupuncture · 12/08/2013 18:03

I've been really good today. Just tucking into a tuna pasta salad with lettuce and cucumber and a light dressing. It's very nice, might have it more often.

Crisps and cheese are my downfall, can give or take sweet stuff. Loathe yoghurt, it's rancid stuff.

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 20:09

Welcome newbies :)

Envy Jealous of all the cruises but yay for motivational stuff Grin

Today I've had-
Breakfast- 3 scrambled eggs, bit of ketchup
Lunch- Innocent veg pot daal curry
Dinner- spinach and ricotta tortelloni, arrabbiata sauce with added onion, garlic, cherry toms, basil and spinach

Going to let my dinner go down then I'm doing insanity crazy

phantomhairpuller · 12/08/2013 20:17

Bloody children!! I had my heart set on resuming Zumba classes tonight, but typically the DCs had other plans!

Ah well I'll have to settle for a few levels of gorilla and try again next week Hmm

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 20:37

Issac - good luck with the insanity!

Today I have eaten -

Bowl of mango and passionfruit porridge
Granary roll with ham salad on, packet of squares and an apple
Jacket potato with ham and salad.
Bowl of fruit salad.

Hungry now but don't know what to have.

Managed half an hour on the wii this morning, level 1 of the shred this afternoon and going to do my sqauts in a bit.

supafish · 12/08/2013 20:42

Good luck all

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 20:58

I only managed 20 minutes today, I've hurt my shoulder :(

Welcome supafish :)

I have 2 birthdays in the house this week and lots of cake and it is time of the month -going to mark my place and come back at the beginning of next week if that is okay.
I lost almost 3 stone last year felt fab , looked good and then since Christmas 2012 have just put it all back on and here I am exactly where I was -so ashamed of myself.
I have a good 3 or 4 stone to lose and would like to have lost it by summer 2014.
Think it is going to be lowish carb, smaller portions and plain old sensible eating for me combined with lots of walking , repetition excercises and zumba classes! It worked for me before so I know I can do it but I can only do this so many times I need to lose the weight and keep it off. Would be great to get support on here.

YellowCanary1 · 12/08/2013 21:03

Ended up having a really down day. Ds2 who is only 10 weeks been really upset and screaming all day and ds1 (rightly so) getting upset at getting little to no attention so played up something chronic. Plus side not had any chance to pig out- had no breakfast, a veg omelette for lunch and roasted veg with salmon for dinner. Down side want to cry, eat chocolate and drink copious amounts of wine!!

StainlessSteelCat · 12/08/2013 22:10

Oh dear. Took kids to cinema today, treated them to popcorn and chocolate .. .and ate far too much myself . Oh well, tomorrow is a fresh start! May even provoke me into exercising

HenriettaPye · 12/08/2013 22:21

Oh yellowcanary, it's tough isn't it! What age is DC1? I joined slimming world when DC2 was 6 weeks and DC1 was 2.4years and couldn't stick to plan as I just kept having days like you describe! No time for food during the day then get them to bed at night, feel exhausted and upset and pig out!

I have my sister and 2 nephews staying for a week so struggling to get any exercise in without being rude and ignoring them.

We did go for a nice walk earlier on but not strenuous enough to burn many calories.

I've also struggled to eat enough today because I've been so busy. Eaten healthy but under a 1000 calories. I know that under eating is almost as bad as over eating.

Will try better tomorrow.

LegoAcupuncture · 12/08/2013 22:51

Don't be so hard on yourself Yellow. You're doing well to even try dieting with your LO being so young.

YellowCanary1 · 13/08/2013 07:26

Did give in and have some wine. Just a tiny glass though as bf. Thanks all, ds1 is 2.5 and though a lovely big brother, does wonder why mummy's attention isn't always his now! Ok nights sleep so today is a new day! Ds1 going to play with granny so think I'll get the baby carrier out and go for a good old stomp!
Have a good day everyone.

katydid02 · 13/08/2013 07:53

I had a glass of wine too but I only drank half of it. I'm having the last of my holiday chocolate today and going out for lunch and then it's on with it seriously. I just had a slim fast latte for breakfast and it's not really filled me up so going to have some blackberries or blueberries.

Debs75 · 13/08/2013 08:42

Had a reasonably good day yesterday. Managed to keep within my points (doing WW) and even had a very stingy small fish and chips.
At a garden party today so will have to resit temptation and then Zumba tonight. DD3's birthday tomorrow and we are having cupcakes so will will be spending most of my points on frosting. I can't resist cakes and frosting. Then we have a party for DD2 and DD3 on Monday. At least it is in the soft play and they always make me run around after them.

LegoRelatedInjury · 13/08/2013 10:11

Morning all. Smile

I'm fasting today and I'm feeling ravenous already. Distraction is the key. Although I'm losing weight I seem to be loosing pounds of the other variety though as I am Internet shopping instead of eating! Oops.

Bought some new running shoes so that will be good for my long walks and then hopefully runs once I've shifted some timber. Can barely run a bath at the moment!

I'm going to give myself a daily reminder of why this is all so important... Today's is-

I am doing this so I have the confidence to meet all my old friends and start having fun again.
