Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Thanks everyone! I've just weighed myself and still the same. I had altitude sickness so could eat very little. I'm sick of the sight of nuts, dried fruit and protein bars.... Might weigh again tomorrow, give my poor shocked body a chance to catch up!

I need a new challenge now.... Half marathon in dec is a possibility

Anyway, need to lose these 4pounds. Back to low carbing for me, my body didn't cope well with reintroduction of sugar

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 11:07

Please can I join? This looks like just what I need.

Firstly, well done to you all for your weight loss and the amazing support you're giving each other.

I am currently 17 st 11lb and that's with a 5lb weightloss this week already. Blush My BMI is 42 and I am painfully aware I am killing myself with food. I'm ready to do this for my children, husband and myself! My joints hurt, I am tired all the time and the thought of getting older like this is scary.

I am sick of living half a life. Not wanting to go anywhere, see anyone, buy any clothes or do the things I want to. Enough.

So...I'm doing the 5:2 diet and really enjoying it. I think if I can get down to below 15stone as a start it will give me a huge boost as it will be the lowest I've been since I had my 2 children. Ideally, I want to be 9st 7lb again. I was perfectly healthy at this weight. I'm not big boned, just fat.

I am next going to weigh myself on Wednesday.

Oooo another Lego folk Grin. Welcome.

50 squats done. Did it with a tin of bans in each hand and raised arms as I went down. n slightly feel the burn but feel so proud that I achieved hem all in one go, nearly gave up after 35 but pushed through. Not used to doing excercises apart from walking the dog.

MissElodie · 12/08/2013 11:14

Morning everyone,

soulsister WELL DONE - that is amazing and you were definitely deserving of that KFC! You must feel very proud.

yellow that's such a great weight loss in 10 weeks - you are doing so well!

well done sizry on getting into the 13's that's great - just think you will never be 14 stone again!

Loving the inspiration dresses! At the moment I just want to get into a couple of tops in my wardrobe that I wore last year but I can barely get over my head now!

Interesting to hear the comments about the implant - I'm due to have one on Tues but wasn't entirely sure about it anyway, now I wondering whether to have it especially if it might put even more weight on?

I've been doing well on the food front so far but I really need to do some exercise! I'm really not saying this as an excuse but it is definitely harder for me at the moment - I have 3 DC under 3 so spare free time isn't an easy thing to find!

I have just recieved news which has gave me a whole load of motivation! I am going on a cruise next year!! My mum and dad have invited me, DH and our two children to go with them, all expenses paid SmileSmileSmile

Last time I was abroad was 4 years ago, and I was just recovering from a miscarriage so this holiday is well needed.

So I am even more determined now! I will not be fat and frumpy, hiding in the shade in long shorts and a baggy t shirt!

Fantastic henrietra what do you go?

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 11:44

That will be a great boost to your motivation Henrietta. Smile

My first goal is to get into my size 18 stuff before winter. I have loads of 18 clothes that will save me a fortune in clothes as have no 20 winter stuff.

Henrietta, lovely motivation for you there!

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 11:57

I go on one next may - that was my inspiration to start

HenriettaPye · 12/08/2013 12:10

Ours is the Thompson Island escape. I've never been on one before, so don't even know what to expect but my parents have just came back from one last week and loved it.

Aw we went on a cruise for our honeymoon Grin I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

We're thinking we'll do it again in 3yrs for my 30th. Plenty of time to save up!!

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 12:19

We are doing on with P and O on Oceana next may for my 30th. I have never done one before but my parents have done 3 (one on Island Escape) and loved them! Can't wait.

katydid02 · 12/08/2013 12:25

OK, here goes. I have procrastinated about losing weight for ages and never seem to be able to make healthy meals without over eating. I had a rare morning with no children so I went shopping and bought Slimfast shakes and snacks and a shed load of fruit for snacks, their plan allows one 600 calorie meal a day. I was chuffed to bits that a pack of my favourite filled pasta comes in at under 600 calories, I've bought some naice salt and posh pepper to add flavour so I don't add butter.
Not sure if this will work but here goes.

SummerHoliDidi · 12/08/2013 13:09

I'm very jealous of those people going on cruises, especially you HP, all expenses paid Envy It's been 8 years since I last went abroad and even that was camping. My parents have just come back from a cruise around Norway and they are full of how wonderful it was and how they're going to go on another one next year for their ruby wedding anniversary. We might possibly go camping somewhere next summer, nowhere near as exciting :(

Good luck katy, I hope Slimfast works for you. I don't think it would work for me because I like real food too much but my ndn is doing it atm and has lost quite a bit.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/08/2013 13:11

Hi Katy , welcome!

Very Envy at the people going on cruises. Never been on one as a passenger but have worked on one and planning to go as soon as ds will enjoy it. Can I suggest that you get down to about a size 8 before you go because the food is amazing so you'll put about 3 sizes back on Wink

Having a good day for food but struggling with exercise motivation. Had a walk earlier and might go out again later - its just preferable to doing the shred. I'm having my favourite mac & cheese tonight as I've realised that I fail when I deny myself. Instead of having a bowlful I'll be having a half portion topped up with lots of veg so I still feel like I'm not missing out. Just had a lovely lunch of mushrooms & eggs cooked in frylight.

Any suggestions for okish desserts - my sweet tooth is missing out!

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 13:31

What about a meringue nest with some berries and yogurt? The meringue is fat free which is good but still nice and sweet. You could break it up for an Eton mess vibe.

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 13:33

Welcome Katie :)

Summer - it is 3 years since I have been aboard, DS struggles with his chest too much flying and it hot weather so a cruise from Southampton is ideal for him! (and me as I hate flying)

Lol Englishgirl - I have been looking at some of the sample menus and things and it sounds fantastic! I have already planned to try to go to the gym a couple of times on board just to work off a couple of cakes!

I have just done the shred and feel strangly energentic after it!

katydid02 · 12/08/2013 13:36

Thanks for the welcome :)
I like real food as well so not sure how I will find it. I've got to eat my holiday chocolate first - I bought back some cinnamon almonds from Turkey; it seems a waste to throw them away.
Sirzy, sorry about your DS struggling with flying. I've done a couple of flights with my DS recently and thankfully he seemed to be OK but he's on 6 different medications at the moment so I'd hope he'd be OK with it.

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 13:41

I thought DS was doing well being on 4, I am hoping he will be well enough controlled in the next few years at the moment that seems a big ask!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/08/2013 13:50

Mmm, Eton Mess. Still full of sugar though. Is there such a thing as a good pudding?

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 13:53

I tend to just have a bowl of berries/grapes

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 14:02

I think apart from fruit, there is no heavenly pudding sadly. The meringue with yogs and berries is still sugary but if you use fat free yogurt it is at least a fat free option for dessert.

I had a nice highlights hot chocolate when I needed a sweet fix last night and it worked a treat.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/08/2013 14:07

Hmmph, going to sulk now about the lack of sugar free fat free pudding ideas Sad

LegoRelatedInjury · 12/08/2013 14:09

What about sugar free jelly actually?
