Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Evening all and hello new people.

Today did not get any better, I had crisps and half a toastie for lunch and dinner was an M&S count on us meal which was absolutely delicious and only 300 odd calories.

Any way I did have some good news today, my period has come. Now this may not appear like good news to the average person but it explains my 4lb weigh gain on Friday, my seriously bad mood and the need to be constantly filling my face with shite all day and all night!

I had no idea one was coming as I had my implant put in a few weeks ago and my body is still adjusting to it, but now it is here I am so, so happy.

I was really worried that old habits were returning where I just couldn't control my eating and the weight would pile back on. But now I know it is temporary for a day or so and then I can hop back on the wagon.

My implant has never had any effect on my weight and this is my 3rd one. So I hope that continues.

I am going to eat a doughnut in a minute and may have some chocolate but I am passed caring today so I will bloody well enjoy it. Smile

EnglishGirlApproximately · 11/08/2013 21:47

Isaac I know someone who has lost about 5 stone doing insanity! He's been watching what he eats but not really dieting, just eating sensibly. He's combined that with Insanity every day and in 2 years has gone from wearing xxl to medium clothes.

Its really tough but does work if you can stick with it. I'm scared of it!

Not a bad day today. Did succumb to a hob nob but still came under my calorie limit, had a good walk and did the gorilla workout. Might try looking at the Shred tomorrow.

JaquelineHyde · 11/08/2013 22:01

No doughnut for me they had gone a bit hard and there was no way I was wasting precious calories on a stale doughnut!

Debs75 · 11/08/2013 22:27

Have had two implants but they always seem to go wrong the last 6-12 months. Lots of ovarian cysts and almost constant periods this year. I have managed to lose some weight on the implant but it is so slow. 21lb in 8 months slow. Doc thinks the hormone level is too high for me so hoping the mirena will be better. If it isn't then DP will be either getting the snip or he won't be getting any ever again.

HeySoulSister · 12/08/2013 04:27

Woohoo I'm back'!

That was a challenge and a half.... Going to weigh tomorrow but 3 mountains climbed and I'm very pleased. I got altitude sickness on 2 mountains. Couldn't eat very well during the challenge, apart from halfway back down Ben Nevis I found my appetite!

We had KFC on way home, but our trainer thinks we will have burned over 8000 calories

phantomhairpuller · 12/08/2013 05:37

Well done SoulSister- what an amazing achievement! You must be feeling so proud of yourself!

MiaWallace · 12/08/2013 06:01

What an accomplishment! Think you thoroughly deserve a KFC after climbing 3 mountains. Well done.

BirdingWidow · 12/08/2013 06:29

Well done SoulSister... I gather a lot of people don't finish all the peaks as it is pretty tough.

I am starting the diet today - off to weigh myself as soon as DP is up to distract the baby for a bit. I will post an update later. I've never told anyone my weight, even anonymously before. Eek.

BirdingWidow · 12/08/2013 07:19

14 st 11.5 Blush

Got to lose 2 stone to be overweight and not obese. That's my first goal, I'd be very happy indeed with that.

Will get on MFP later and see if I can add everyone from this thread.

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 07:28

Well done soul sister.

This morning I am under 14 stone for the first time in probably 10 year! Only 13 stone 13 but that's a start! 2lb to the 2 stone!

Getting strict on the diet from today. In have been doing great exercise wise but really slipped with the diet. Going to have another "no baddies" week to get back on track.

SummerHoliDidi · 12/08/2013 08:10

Well done HSS! One of my friends failed the challenge a couple of months ago because they climbed the wrong peak in the lake district!Shock Silly man! You must feel great having completed it. I don't think even s KFC could possibly hurt after all that.

I'm about to get up and get started on decorating dd2's bedroom, first step is clearing all the crap out of it, so I might even need a couple of trips to a charity shop as well.

YellowCanary1 · 12/08/2013 08:24

Well done SoulSister - fantastic achievement!!
BirdingWidow, I am like you, I never disclosed my weight until this time and found it really liberating and helpful. DH has been helping me keep a chart of weight loss, and photos and because I'm not being all secretive he knows exactly what I am doing and losing he is really able to get involved and be really supportive.
I am currently 13st10lbs, down from 16st, its taken 10 weeks. I am aiming for 11st7 as I feel good at that weight and aiming for a bmi of 23.

I've started running a few weeks back and did 7k on Friday. I need goals to aim for so alongside losing 3lbs per week my personal challenges are now;
September - 5k race
October - 10k race
December - half marathon!!!!!

Inspired by soulsister's success, anyone else with 'challenges' they are aiming for?

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 08:27

I am doing a 10k sponsored walk next month. Slightly scary thought!

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 08:34

Morning all.

EnglishGirl- wow well done to your friend, that's great. Insanity makes the 30 day shred feel like I'm lazing around on the sofa in comparison Grin I ache so much today. Going to do it again later I must be mad

Yay! Well done HeySoulSister

well done Sirzy. Bet it feels amazing. I can't wait to get to 13 stone again as that was when I felt most confident with myself.

I'm waiting for a Tesco delivery (which has no 'bad' food in it) and a few clothes items. Then the inlaws are coming over to help to trim my front bush Shock Not that one Grin! Then will do insanity eek!

I ordered this dress last night in a size 14, hoping to be in by Christmas if not before. The last dress I ordered from there was a size 22!

Have a great day all :)

Sirzy · 12/08/2013 08:36

That dress is lovely! I have my target dress bookmarked ready to order, no idea what size I will get to so don't want to order it ready!

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 08:36

Wow Yellow what an amazing weight loss in 10 weeks. Well done :)

Love your challenges Yellow and Sirzy. One of my dreams weirdo is to be able to run for ages without stopping and to actually enjoy it.

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 08:38

Thanks Sirzy. I felt I had to order it as there has only been 75 made. 14 isn't my target but it's getting there Grin Which dress do you want? :)

HenriettaPye · 12/08/2013 08:44

Morning all!

Big well done HSS!!!You definitely earned that KFC!

Birdingwidow losing 2 stone is achievable. 2 lb a week between now and christmas will leave you 2 and a half stone lighter!

Yay Sirzy!! thats you out of the 14's for good and now into the 13's! Now to work on getting into the 12's! Smile

Isaac- that dress is gorgeous.

I dont really have a challenge, maybe I should get one?

item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=111016673065 (hope that works!)

I think having a target helps keep you on track. I would love to do a half marathon next year but need to get through this walk before planning that!

MiaWallace · 12/08/2013 08:54

I need to find an inspiration dress.

I haven't worn a dress since I got married 3 years ago.

IsaacCox · 12/08/2013 08:58

I love that dress Sirzy.

phantomhairpuller · 12/08/2013 09:07

I have a wedding on 20th sept, it will be first time I've seen a lot of the family for quite a while. I'd like to have a bit of a 'wow' dress for then but have no idea how much weight i will have lost or what size i'll be!

YellowCanary1 · 12/08/2013 09:36

I think it is important to have a goal or challenges, doesn't matter what - could be a fitness thing (i.e. running, 3 peaks) or a personal thing (getting into that 'wow' dress, etc), otherwise weight loss for weight loss sake can be very hard and difficult to maintain. Doing weight loss to achieve another goal which is personal to you I think gives motivation, helps it go and helps it stay off. Before having my 2 children I ran a lot and loved it. I want that feeling back, I want to enjoy my runs and to do that I need to shift this weight - so that's my reward - hope that makes sense!!! And I am only 30, I don't want my children/ family to keep looking at me as frumpy mummy! (I'm sure they don't but that's how I feel!)
P.S. Will definitely do a clothes shop though when back down to ideal weight!! I think I will have earnt it!! Smile

LegoAcupuncture · 12/08/2013 09:49

Morning everyone.

Well done on your challenge HSS! You deserved that KFC.

Weighed myself this morning, not good! My BMI takes me to severely obese, will be jus obese by next week though as was just just just over 40. This is not healthy, this is not what I want to be.

Today is the start of what is hopefully the change I need.

Have had raisin bran and a banana for breakfast.

BirdingWidow · 12/08/2013 10:46

Thanks Yellow, that's great loss in such a short time and v inspiring. I am trying to lose a decent amount for my wedding next year (I am never going to be a slender bride but I want my waist back!) and I also can see 40 on the horizon: that's age AND BMI, really mustn't let that happen. And I have to get a job (recently made redundant) AND I would like another child... So many reasons to do this but so hard to remember them when I see a packet of crisps.

Day 1 of the New Me is off to a good start - I lost a filling this morning eating a (soggy) wheatabix. Can't get to the dentist till late afternoon and too scared to brush or eat on that side. Might go and suck on a yoghurt for lunch then!
