Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Aren't Crunchies one of the 'better' bars of chocolate at least calorie wise so I guess it could have been worse!!

I hide from the camera so much I don't think I have any photos that I could put on my profile. Although there was a recent gathering with a very snap happy family member with their camera getting many unposed shots - oh I nearly cried when I saw the photos - horrific. Its awful because I know I'm fat its very obvious I am but when I saw how much bigger I was compared to 'normal' size people I just looked HUGE!!

It makes me sad though as I really don't hate any pics with my DC - I have having my photo taken so much that I always make sure I'm the one taking it Sad

HenriettaPye · 11/08/2013 14:10

Ok I've downloaded my fitness pal and realised I did used to have it....when I was 20lbs lighter Sad

So I've updated it all- and added a photo which was taken of me last night which I'm sooooo embarrassed of! SadSad

I'm not sure how to add people? It says I need Facebook contacts or email addresses? If you want to add me though feel free, I'm fatmummy88

I have just done - and somehow survived woo hoo- level 1 of the 30 day shred. Found it on youtube and think it may be one worth trying to do a couple of times a week.

StainlessSteelCat · 11/08/2013 14:26

Hi, checking in! Am making slow progress, but since starting I haven't had an evening pig out or eaten much pudding - although a trip to the park with the kids just before lunch blew 95% of my will power out the door! So I think I'm doing OK, and will keep this up until I get back from holiday, so will start in earnest the end of august. I'm guessing the sight of fat me in photos will help with the will power .

Have just down loaded the gorilla app, and had a look at those 30 day challenges. I was doing pilates in term time, so will start with the plank one I think. Thanks for the links to hose, they look very useful

Henrietta, I've just added you. I learnt how to do it yesterday- click on community, then find members then then in the member search type in the username.

Welcome blackstilton. I'm 5 foot 4 too and 16 stone 9 now. Great idea with the skirt :)

Welcome ourlittlestreet too :)

Jaqueline, draw a line under the crunchie and be good the rest of the day :)

English, I've tried the couch to 5K but it killed my shins! I'd get in from it and be in so much pain. I'm hoping when I'm lighter, it'll be kinder on my legs and I can try again. I'd love to be able to run.

missElodie :( I know how you feel. I'm the only fat one in the family and I hate it. It'll get better :)

Well done on all the workouts today :)

I've been to the gym and burnt about 450 calories. My mum has given me a copy of the insanity workout... eep! I've been wanting it but it's so expensive. I'm going to try it the days I can't get to the gym I think.

I've decided to do a combination of slimming world and calorie counting. I need to cut down my portions.

IsaacCox · 11/08/2013 14:43

Make that 580ish calories, I went for a bit of a walk too! I've got some housework to do so I'm going to put some upbeat music on and blast through it, so that should burn some too.

Sirzy · 11/08/2013 14:44

i am gateaux16 on MFP. Just updated the weights etc so they are accurate as to where I am up to and where I started (rather than the cheating figures I used to use!) Might start using it properly to calorie count as I can feel myself slipping a bit foodwise.

Sirzy · 11/08/2013 14:44

That insanity workout looks evil!

IsaacCox · 11/08/2013 14:49

Haha I know it does. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger eh? Grin

IsaacCox · 11/08/2013 14:51

Just added you Sirzy. Your pic is amazing! Well done :)

Sirzy · 11/08/2013 15:02

Thank you, still a long way to go but it is good to be able to see progress!

HenriettaPye · 11/08/2013 18:33

I have just had a roast dinner to. Although I think it was the healthiest part of my diet today. Oops better get back on track tomorrow!

phantomhairpuller · 11/08/2013 18:43

Mini blip here Hmm went to a family BBQ, was doing really well with lots of salad etc.

But then the honey roasted cashew nuts got the better of me Hmm

Bigger bugger bugger!

katydid02 · 11/08/2013 18:47

TiredNursey we are in the same situation weight wise. I just can't get motivated to lose weight at all though I know I should - hence reading this thread.

Sirzy · 11/08/2013 18:47

It's ok tomorrow is another day we can all be good again then!

I might try to do an extra half hour on the wii when DS is asleep to make up for some of the baddies!

supafish · 11/08/2013 18:48

Please let me join :) I'm getting fatter and fatter, no motivation , no willpower at mo. Clothesnot fitting argh!!! Thought I may do the power walk thing everyday to start ! Little chunks of flab at a time x

HenriettaPye · 11/08/2013 19:42

The more the merrier supafish! Smile How much do you want to lose?

I love reading about how well everyone else is doing, makes me feel even more determined. I've tried so hard- I just hope the scales show it on Wednesday or I will be so disappointed

1lb off todayGrin I don't think I could of taken another gain this week. Am getting my implant out next week and having the mirena Coil in. Has anyone got any experience with weight loss whilst having the coil?

LegoAcupuncture · 11/08/2013 20:04

Have had some rather yummy Stilton and crackers before I start tomorrow.

Have printed off my exercise sheets ready, going to do the squat and the plank challenges.

HenriettaPye · 11/08/2013 20:09

Debs I'm currently on the mirena coil. I've had it approx 3 months and have put on about 10lb inside the three months. However I don't know if that's a result of overeating and being lazy, or anything to to with the coil!

OP posts:
phantomhairpuller · 11/08/2013 20:14

Debs, I had the mirena coil before I had DS2. No weight gain- cant say I actively tried to lose weight either, jut stayed around the same. Though it did turn me into a miserable cow Hmm

I have just had implant fitted- an hoping that doesn't have any negative effects on the weight loss. Fingers crossed

MiaWallace · 11/08/2013 20:32

I'm having my implant out on Tuesday (hopefully). I certainly gained since having it. How much down to the implant and how much down to a love of wine is debatable.

IsaacCox · 11/08/2013 20:44

Jeez, I've just done the fitness test for insanity. The hardest workout ever. Felt like I'd just got out of a swimming pool I was sweating that much! Shattered now.
