Week 9 - New Year Low Carb Bootcamp - Nearly there ...

BIWI · 04/03/2013 07:49

So we enter the last two weeks of Bootcamp. Still time to drop another 2-4lbs!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to come and confess all.

Remember, at the bottom of the spreadsheet is a tab for Ubercamp, if you fancy three strict days.

Good luck!

And The Lord shall provide! Wink

WillieWaggledagger · 08/03/2013 22:02

valdeeves that's crap, chocolate probably sensible in the circumstances, you could get v cold and tired and making sure you don't get ill is the most important thing! Hope rescue comes soon - is it far away? Whereabouts are you?

Ruprekt · 08/03/2013 22:17

Ahh, that was nice of them Valdeeves.

(Whispers). I think the whoosh fairy might have been. SmileSmile

Will weigh tomorrow but have been very good.

B bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms in butter

L hb egg, ham, salad with mayo

D salmon with hm coleslaw, roasted cabbage

Sparkling water, 2 teas, plain water, peppermint tea

Do we now need to be careful about weighing veg? Am shocked at cabbage as when I was on WW cabbage was free. Obv cabbage is 5g carb per 100g and it really is not much. I reckon I ate 10 g carbs cabbage without realising!!!!ShockShockShock

Ruprekt · 08/03/2013 22:46

You been rescued yet Val?????

Valdeeves · 08/03/2013 23:52

Rescued and home - just eaten warm tuna salad. Cold to the bone, what a shocker of a Friday night. Hubby still got to head to Tesco's as have friends over for lunch tomorrow and no food!

QuickLookBusy · 09/03/2013 00:01

Val so glad you are home.

Have you got any soup? You need something hot to warm you up.

QuickLookBusy · 09/03/2013 00:01

Sorry only saw the salad bit-ignore me!

WillieWaggledagger · 09/03/2013 02:35

You poor thing val - hopefully you're warm and tucked up in bed now

I am awake with earache of all things... I don't think I've had earache since I was about 7!

BIWI · 09/03/2013 11:51

ilovemyteddty - I still feel like that. I'm still constantly surprised that I can pick up a size 10 (sometimes an 8) and it will fit. And I have 'only' lost 2 stones, so I can well imagine it is difficult for you to get your head around being slim!

Oh dear willie, hope you feel better soon.

Glad you are home safe val.

Yama · 09/03/2013 12:51

It's funny how a sudden upchuck can totally change your plans for the day.

We were supposed to be going to dd's swimming lesson and then onto a party ds was invited to. As we were in the hall putting on coats, ds vomited everywhere. So, instead dh has taken dd to the swimming and I'm on the sofa watching CBeebies with ds.

I cut down my dairy this week and am sustaining 9st 10.5lbs rather than teetering between 9st 11 and 9st 12.5lbs. So I guess dairy really does make a difference. My reason for cutting down dairy is not for weight reasons though.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. Sickly boy here will mean much sofa time for me.

SwitchedtoEatingCheese · 09/03/2013 13:29

Well last night I was presented with four cupcakes made by my children for mothers days. Thick with butter icing....

And I resisted , I sneaked them in the bin and put the wrappers on a plate so the kids thought I ate them. Felt slightly bad that they made them for me and I never ate them, but I knew if I had one bite I would have munched the lot, felt crap and spent the rest of the weekend resisting more sugar.

Going out tonight for an Italian but it's one of these grouping deals so I'm praying there is something other than pizza and pasta. There will definitely be wine though!

SwitchedtoEatingCheese · 09/03/2013 13:30

Group on deals not grouping.

JakeBullet · 09/03/2013 13:33

Made cream cheese pancakes this morning but tbh still finding them a bit meh.

Lunch was 40g Brussels pate, 20g cheddar, salad, mayo and 50g cherry tomatoes....really nice. Off to count the carbs now lol

thenightsky · 09/03/2013 13:39

Jake, I do like the pancakes as a vehicle for butter or cream cheese, but I'm going to try adding grated parmesan and some mustard powder to the next mix to see if that improves blandness. Or maybe curry powder.

timidviper · 09/03/2013 13:53

Jake I have found adding some peanut butter to cream cheese pancakes made them more palatable with sweet options like berries and yoghurt. Otherwise they tasted disconcertingly eggy.

I can also confirm that almond butter, despite tasting nice mixed with yoghurt adds a nasty plastery taste and texture when added to the pancake mix.

MsRinky · 09/03/2013 16:01

I have spent a remarkable satisfying afternoon reorganising the pantry. I accept that this makes me officially middle aged. Wish I hadn't found the salted caramel filled chocolate though, I have put it away at the back but I can still hear it calling me...

JakeBullet · 09/03/2013 16:30

Thank you for the heads up about almond flour Grin

I am preparing for Bootcamp Lite next week and looking forward to having some vodka and something one evening.

I am still being evangelical about this WOE to everyone.....think they are sick of me but even they cannot deny a 12lb weight loss despite my frying eggs in butter.

One thing it has absolutely done is made me look at DS's eating and diet. He is a Carb King and his autism makes him funny about food. He is also terrible for opening his bowels (sorry if that's tmi) and will eat loads of fruit so I am overjoyed to see some of the research showing that adding bulk from fibre can actually make constipation worse. His fruit is now nice a day and of his choosing, the rest of his 5 a day are from vegetables.

So he is having packed lunches at school at the moment, he was having school dinners but a dinner lady upset him and DS holds a grudge Grin and I am no longer adding bread in the form if sandwiches from next week. I have chicken breasts defrosting and am going to make satay chicken with peanut butter, add a cube of cheese, some cucumber and salad stuff. He doesn't like mayonnaise so will have to add a thin slice of bread and loads of butter on it to fill him up.

I will still give him potatoes etc but he has agrees that sweets need reducing to twice a week max. I have also chucked out all pasta except some spaghetti which will be no more than once a week. He loves buttered spinach and other vegetables so am on a winner there.

Anyway.....that's just me enthusing......again lol.

And I have a potential new bloke on the horizon too......happy happy happy.

BIWI · 09/03/2013 17:05

Ooooh! That sounds interesting!

Jake, I make pancakes with whey protein powder & ground almonds, and they taste just like scotch pancakes! I let them cool down & slather them in thick butter - yum yum!

Thank you to whoever mentioned the Liquorice & peppermint tea - I absolutely love it! Have had 2 cups this afternoon since buying it :D going to invest in a wee teapot for one, to make them go further.

DH is making mince & tatties for dinner. Im having mashed neeps with mine instead of the tatties. It smells amazing! It does have carrots, peas & onion in it but will avoid as much as I can.

JakeBullet · 09/03/2013 17:17

Hmm...well he's a bit away from me and we won't be meeting for a month or so due to work commitments etc but we hav emailed lots and spoken on the phone etc. I like the sound of him, widower who nursed his wife though cancer Sad teenage and older children...we have lots of interests in common AND he is prepared to travel to my town and take me out for lunch...he wants to buy me lunch....can't remember the last time I had lunch bought for me by a man,.
