Three weeks to go!

How are you all doing?

Anyone Ubercamping this week?

Good luck. Still time to shed almost half a stone if you really stick to your knitting! Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 03/03/2013 10:46

fab whip, that's brilliant

LavenderBriggs · 03/03/2013 10:56

I had too much cava and too much raclette on Friday night. Was a bit sick. Don't think I can stomach large amounts of cheese. Very gentle day yesterday. Went for run this morning and have had my own version of pancakes (ground almonds, peanut butter, the lot) and starting to feel human again. Managed the whole run without being sick. Back to basics for me.

Not sure how I feel about bootcamp finishing - it's been such a good experience.

Val My Fitness Pal - you get to see other people's food and exercise diaries and have a bit of a natter about them.

BlackAffronted · 03/03/2013 11:06

Whip, how fantastic! It really boosts me to see people in large sizes like me go down into "normal" sized clothing - I want that so badly!

Lavender - when bootcamp finishes, I think ,ostr of us will still be here & doing it! I know I am.

Going down to the beach for the day with a load of my friends & all our kids - hope its a nice day! Just had an omlette, finally getting the hang of making them. Going to pick up a Subway salad tray onmy way, only 7 carbs for a massive salad with cheese, mayo, ham, beef & turkey with an extra side of bacon Grin. Dinner tonight will be boursin stuffed chicken thighs served with savoy cabbage fried with bacon.

FurryDogMother · 03/03/2013 15:12

Well, the Chinese cook-fest went well - cooked it all, had a couple of pieces of chicken and a slice of beef, and I think that was about it. Loads of vodka though - oops. Today I am not hungover (miracle!) but am very not interested in food - had a mug of home made veggie soup for breakfast and am just now beginning to think about eating something else. 'Something else' will probably be a couple of home made burgers with salad, because I was too focused on the Chinese feast to remember to defrost something to roast. Bugger. Oh well!

FurryDogMother · 03/03/2013 15:14

p.s. In other news, my size 14 jeggings fell down when I was throwing ball for the dogs earlier (luckily, at home, in our field). What a day to choose to go commando! Could have been very entertaining for the neighbours/embarrassing for me, but luckily, I think everyone was still in bed when it happened :)

JakeBullet · 03/03/2013 15:36

Grin Furry

timidviper · 03/03/2013 15:40

whip Your initial goal of being able to buy clothes at "normal" shops is my current goal although I have quite a way to go yet. I think plus sizes are often less tailored/stretchier/etc and the weight loss required to go from a 14 to a 12, although it can be difficult to achieve, is a lot less then the weight you have to lose to go from a 24 to a 22. I have lost 2st 4lb and am still in the same size clothes although they are a bit looser.

I had my first clothes clearout yesterday as I have a stupid number of pairs of jeans and black trousers, in 3 different sizes and varying cuts and styles. I have sorted them into 3 lots: too big, fit now and aiming for. It has also reminded me not to get too hung up on the numbers as I have some fit now pairs that are techically a smaller size than some of the too tight ones.

A cause for celebration for me (albeit a minor one!) is that I am now back at my pre-Xmas weight. I would have liked to get there sooner but have had a difficult month or two with bereavements and stress which is why it feels like a victory; on "diets" I'd have given up and put on weight under these circumstances.

littlermissstan · 03/03/2013 15:52

I have invented the breakfast of kings - boiled eggs mashed with butter and marmite. Hoping marmite ok as have been craving it and trying to work out how to get my fix without toast. Surely it must be as is only a tiny bit! Just spent a fortune on a fridge and freezer full of lovely stuff so looking forward to the next LC week!

Whippoorwhill · 03/03/2013 16:33

Timid. Well done on getting back to your pre Christmas weight. Keeping going under that kind of stress is brilliant.

I hear you about sizes. It took forever to go from a 22 to a 20, nearly as long down to 18 but the other drops have been quite quick despite the weight loss having slowed right down.

The difference is sizing is crazy. I'm a 12/14 on the bottom and 14/16 on top generally but I've got some size 16 tops that are smaller than others maked as a 12. M&S jeans I'm now a 12 but Head cargo pants I'm a 16 and they are skin tight.

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/03/2013 16:37

Littlermissstan that reminds me of the famous boiled eggs mashed with Boursin breakfast - it is also very yummy!

B - lc chipolatas and fried egg
L - warm chicken and bacon salad with mayo
D - roast beef, broccoli, green beans and carrots (a couple of small bits for me only)

Meals planned and feeling positive about the week ahead!

Lavenderhoney · 03/03/2013 16:42

Great to read of weight losses:) and furry, you made me laugh with your trousers:)

I have had a horrible weekend so have done all my jobs, put the dc in bed and poured a glass of champagne to cheer myself up!
How funny, I was thinking of marmite yesterday - I might try it on my egg tomorrow, but I might just whisk some round the pan after cooking the mushrooms- I love my fry up breakfast.

B- eggs, bacon
Lunch - salmon and rocket salad
D- steak, green beans and fried onions.
Lots of water.

Black, your dinner sounds lovely:) and I too shall want to keep at it and stay on a thread!

timidviper · 03/03/2013 16:54

The "Old Timers" will still be here too. We all carried on chatting after the end of the last bootcamp and through into this one. I have no doubt we'll all carry on doing the same.

prettybird · 03/03/2013 17:09

I've now exceeded my month's target which actually goes up to the 5th My target was to get to 11stone 7lb - and I was 11stone 6lb this morning Smile

Not only that, but I also fitted into my size 12 jeans ok, they're pre-stretched - with only a small amount of muffin top Wink Got lots of compliments at the rugby club today (I do registration for the Youth Section) ok, I may have worn heels and a smart, neat fitting shirt to enhance the effect Grin

BIWI · 03/03/2013 17:17

Have no fear, I will keep a general chat thread going once this Bootcamp finishes!

Well done, timid. I wish I could say the same as you. I'm just fannying around at the moment. I could do with someone beating me with my own big stick!

Next week is DS2's 18th birthday, so we will be going out for dinner and having Champagne - and then we have friends over for dinner on Friday night, and we usually end up having pretty boozy evenings with them. Still, at least I'm cooking, so can make sure that it's as low carb as possible.

But I'm keeping the levels of exercise up, so hopefully that will counteract at least some of the bad behaviour.

Choos we have just had your tartiflette for tea - with some added smoked gammon, and using brie instead of the proper cheese and a good slosh of cream too, and oh my goodness, how yummy is that!!? Thank you!!

Whipp can I add my well dones that is an amazing achievement.

Too much red wine with my dinner, I am all woozy. Blush By too much, I mean one glass. I just have no farking tolerance at all!

Furry your chinese fest sounded incredible. Big respect to you managing to cook upteem dishes at once without mishap. I hope it was thoroughly appreeciated.

Also did courgette spaghetti with pesto, chicken, bacon and salad for lunch. The courgette spag was fab. Julienne peeler is a good 'un.

Ruprekt · 03/03/2013 18:56

I am ready for ubercamp tomorrow.

Tomorrow breakfast will be mushroom omelette. I eat about 10am so am not tempted by biscuit tin at school.

Will have cup of tea in morning and then water, water, water all day.

Lunch will be chicken salad.

Dinner will be after aerobics and probably a plate of veggies cooked in butter.

Does that sound ok with more water?SmileSmileSmile

timidviper · 03/03/2013 20:33

Ruprekt Is there enough protein in there? I'm no expert but am under the impression that we should have some protein at each meal to keep you feeling full. Could you add some to your veggies for tea?

Choos Where could I find your tartiflette recipe? I can't find it on the recipe thread and it sounds lovely.

I have a new favourite drink! Lots of ice in a glass, 2 slices of cucumber, topped up with fizzy water (it is even nicer with slimline tonic but I save that for a special treat as I don't want to have sweeteners all the time)

BIWI · 03/03/2013 20:42

Ruprekt - that isn't Ubercamp! Veggies on their own, even with butter, isn't enough and will probably tip your carb count a bit high.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 03/03/2013 21:08

timidviper it's on the last page of the recipe thread, but here it is:

  • Low carb tartiflette: boil swede, turnip and celeriac slices almost until done, then fry in generous amounts of butter with some finely chopped leek and garlic, then stir in some cubes of reblochon. Had a mound of buttery savoy cabbage on the side. And had the leftovers for breakfast with fried eggs.

I discovered that Pimms is much nicer with sparkling wtaer than lemonade. Just added some cucumber, mint, and 1/4 strawberry diced and it was lovely. Lemonade would have been sickly. Oh how the tastebuds change!

Ruprekt · 03/03/2013 21:19

Salmon with veggies for dinner.
