I've just been to waitrose and bought their meal plan. Will def have to schedule lots of exercise to earn that!

LalyRawr · 12/02/2013 16:01

Ohh add me! Username is alyiousa, if I know people are seeing what I eat, I knowi will stick to it more.

Have lost a stone so far and very proud of myself x

LalyRawr · 12/02/2013 16:10

Do those diet pills, like Adios, actually work or are they a waste of money?

BumBiscuits · 12/02/2013 20:32

Probably better off and cheaper with dandelion tea and drinking plenty water. If adios and the like worked, we'd all know about it and take them every day!

jchocchip · 13/02/2013 05:46

LalyRawr · 13/02/2013 13:46

Thanks for the adds!

What's everyone doing for Valentines tomorrow? I'm making sure I do some exercise so I can earn a dessert :p

WiseKneeHair · 13/02/2013 13:58

I do like a shiny new thread.
Welcome Laly and well done on your stone loss. I will add you on MFP.
The only over the counter diet pill that works (and, in fact, I think prescription pill in the uk) is Orlistat. It blocks about a third of the fat that you eat and you poo it out instead. It is supposed to increase weight loss by about 1/3, but the downside is that it gives you terrible diarrhoea! Not sure I'm willing to take that trade off, personally.
Thanks for mentioning Valentines day, I'd forgotten. Blush Better get DH a card on the way home. As you can see, I don't really have plans for valentines day. Been married too long.
Had a terrible day yesterday, I was tired and headachy and ate too much. Trying to get back on track today and might sneak off work early to do a long exercise session.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/02/2013 14:02

Hi everyone! Marking place. I'm MrsDomini on MFP.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/02/2013 14:13

I've never tried LalyRawr but there must be some basis in what they do. If you are eating healthily and exercising then you will loss weight steadily and the right way, mfp really works! We don't do anything for valentines day other than buying a card. I've looked at those supermarket deals but they are a bit pricey especially as we really don't drink wine very often.

I was once prescribed Orlistat but I didn't like it at all and stopped taking it. Let's just say you don't always have control over what comes out of your body ...

BumBiscuits · 13/02/2013 14:48

I was prescribed Orlistat too. In fact I just cleared out the medicine shelf and threw them away. As well as the main side effect that everyone talks about Grin they gave me very painful joints and dandruff.

flootshoot · 13/02/2013 14:49

Can I join? I'm sianie9 on MFP, been doing it for about a week so far this time. Are you all friends on there too?

LalyRawr · 13/02/2013 14:51

Well, I have Chrons Disease anyway, so my intestines are not my greatest friend at the best of times.

I will stay well clear then!

essexmumma · 13/02/2013 14:53

Oh a nice new thread!! Marking my place. I'm mummaessex on MFP- been addicted for over a month now. Longest I have stuck at anything and finding it great to have encouragement from fellow mumsnettersSmile feel free to add me newbies xx

WiseKneeHair · 13/02/2013 14:55

Glad everyone agrees with me that Orlistat isn't a great idea. Also, it doesn't help to change eating habits which I think is the main thing we all need to do.
Laly I suspect it would be contraindicated in your case anyway! Healthy eating is the way to go.
floot welcome. Yes, we are friends on MFP and everyone is really good at giving each other encouragement. We do like to see an open diary though Wink [nosy emoticon] I'll add you.

LalyRawr · 13/02/2013 14:58

I have the app on my iPhone and I can't add people by username :(

Stoopid phone.

flootshoot · 13/02/2013 15:27

I think my diary is open.... Anyway. I'm 4'11' and about 10st, aiming to lose a stone. I'm really determined to stick it for the long haul (DS now 4, DD now 2, defo not planning any more!!). Doing 1200 calories a day and alternating the shred with the 10 min solution DVDs.

DoubleMum · 13/02/2013 17:38

The support is great here and on MFP, I'm sure that's what has kept me going. I'm the same name on MFP by the way.

WiseKneeHair · 13/02/2013 17:44

Laly you can o it on the iPhone.
Click on the friends button on the bottom, then the friends button on the top. Then click on the add a friend button. In the next screen, ignore the from line and put their username in the to line. Then request sent.
Exercise done and feeling much more positive now.
