Week 4 - New Year Bootcamp - Where We Really Get Going

Morning all!

Quick post from me as I have to go to work. Damn that RL!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Remember that in this week, it is still likely that you may see very little or even no loss. This is entirely normal and will happen no matter how well you have been following Bootcamp rules

It sounds, though, like some of you are eager to report losses anyway, so that's brilliant!

However, there's been a lot of falling off the wagon recently, so can I suggest that we really get focused in this week and make sure that we don't allow the carbs to creep back into the diet? From here on, we're only really going to see losses of around 1-2lbs a week, so let's not sabotage things.

Gorgeous Sunday dinner of roast pork belly, mashed swede and kale, leeks and courgette c

littlermissstan · 03/02/2013 22:18

Oops! Posted too soon - and courgette cooked with butter and cream. Two things I wanted to tell you all - one, that Fleet services serves a specifically low carb cooked breakfast - egg, sausage, bacon and mushroom which I ordered this morning :) and two, that I was reading this month's Delicious magazine at the doctors on Friday and, amongst the cakes and pies and potatoes there is a really good article on how low carb might be the answer, and that a calorie of fat and a calorie of sugar are not necessarily equal - could it be that people are catching on??

Forgive me BIWI for I have sinned ...

Have had a rubbish week. Ate some crappy stuff midweek. Don't even know why. Was a bit :( and turned to food even though I knew it wasn't the solution. Tried to get back on the wagon on Friday but suspect I will be wailing over my scales in the morning.

Serves me right.

Hope everyone's doing better than me ok.

I have been knitting all weekend, though, and running, so surely that gives me some kind of dispensation? Wink

Bah - no weight loss here, although no gain either. I did see my weight dip down towards the end of last week but then I blew it over the weekend. Don't think I fell off the carbs wagon once but do know what to blame. Yes - it's that old beast alcohol. Gin and tonic and a couple of glasses of fizzy on Friday and Saturday night. I also seem to plateau quite regularly where it's two steps forward, one step back. Not too upset all the time the general trend is downwards. Next challenge is how I'm going to manage skiing next week. We're staying in a catered chalet with only the (gorgeous) food in front of us to eat and no choice. Think I'm just going to steer clear of bread and desserts and not worry too much about the rest of it. Always think there's little point worrying about the things we can't change in life. I'm a philosopher, I am :).

ScillyCow · 04/02/2013 06:41

Stayed the same this week - again.

Really need to keep off the chocolate and keep up with the thread.

sybilfaulty · 04/02/2013 07:10

1lb on for me alas. I am surprised its not more as I rather lost my way at the weekend. Still there are 6 weeks if boot camp left so long. Enough yo make a difference.

BlackAffronted · 04/02/2013 07:16

Dont know if anyone else is reading the "atkins isnt for everyone" thread on here, but its like banging your head against a wall. :( of course, we are only losing weight because we are no longer eating high calorie snacks! As if Grin pretty sure homemade crackling, cheese and sour cream dip are not low calorie snacks ha ha!

Ilovemyteddy · 04/02/2013 07:17

Very bad weekend for me and I've gained 1.2lbs. Back to Bootcamp.

BlackAffronted · 04/02/2013 07:27

1lb up for me too. I am just hovering at the same weight really, since week 1 of bootcamp. I have yet to drop below the next stone, and thought it wold have happened weeks ago :( I have never lost a stone on a diet ever, and so I think deep inside I know I might not ever. I am 12 lbs lighter though than I was a month ago, so have to be pleased with that. I need to keep it off.

Doshusallie · 04/02/2013 07:44

Ooh thanks littlemisstan, am often on the m3 so will remember that about Fleet services!

SavoirFaire · 04/02/2013 07:55

Morning all. 2.5lbs down here which given major indiscretions over the weekend I am absolutely amazed by. Will not take anything for granted though and am planning a super strict week this week to make sure I am back in ketosis - will be difficult as am on annual leave. DH and I have made up after horrid row yesterday and hopefully we will be back to supporting each other properly!

GinotPrigio · 04/02/2013 08:17

Uch, STS for me this week. I am annoyed as I have being very strict with loads of exercise. I have eaten no berries at all and only had nuts on the days I have being doing long runs.

BIWI I know you warned us about the week 4/5 slowdown and stall but from your experience on previous bootcamps, when does the weight loss start to kick in again? I am feeling a bit despondent at the moment but will not quit. We're half way there!

BlackAffronted · 04/02/2013 08:35

I was hoping for maybe a 2 stone loss during the 10 week bootcamp, looks like I wont even manage 1 stone Shock considering we are halfway already!

littlermissstan · 04/02/2013 09:17

Just over 2lbs off which I am very pleased with, though it means I still haven't lost everything I put on from my hen do episode... Still, going in the right direction!
