Week 4 - New Year Bootcamp - Where We Really Get Going

BIWI · 28/01/2013 08:55

Morning all!

Quick post from me as I have to go to work. Damn that RL!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Remember that in this week, it is still likely that you may see very little or even no loss. This is entirely normal and will happen no matter how well you have been following Bootcamp rules

It sounds, though, like some of you are eager to report losses anyway, so that's brilliant!

However, there's been a lot of falling off the wagon recently, so can I suggest that we really get focused in this week and make sure that we don't allow the carbs to creep back into the diet? From here on, we're only really going to see losses of around 1-2lbs a week, so let's not sabotage things.

Marking place too. Well done losers & don't lose hope those who've gained a bit. Remember it is impossible to gain fat that fast, so it will probably be a bit of water retention.
Resisted lemon drizzle cake & pineapple cake at family party on Saturday & have been very good about staying low carb. Feeling a bit joyless about it though - so am going to do something yummy for dinner!

Ruprekt · 28/01/2013 10:57

I forgot to weigh too as DS1 was throwing up! Sad

Had bacon, sausage, egg and creamed mushrooms for BF as didn't go to work as looking after DS.

I forgot to tell you that I got HUGE celeriac for 33p yesterday. Bargain. Got 4 of them. Might be sick of celeriac at the end of the week!!

mumat39 · 28/01/2013 11:07

Booz, Wow!!!

You look amazing, although I must admit you looked pretty good in the before pics too.

Good luck with the move. Hope you all and all of your things arrive safely to the uk.

mumat39 · 28/01/2013 11:08

Boobz, sorry.

DorisIsWaiting · 28/01/2013 11:11

Wow Boobz well done that's a huge training program (and I had a peek at you photos too!) .

It's no weigh in for me until wednesday but I am staying strong had wine this week (and noticed it more!) but other than that have stayed on the straight and narrow. I'd lost a couple of pounds when I weighed yesterday but that's no gauruntee (sp?) Grin

Really looking forwrd to eating with the family tonight (we have so many dietary requirements it has been impossible). They are having homemade chips and battered fish. I'm going to have celeriac chips and fish sans batter and some salad on the side.

Ilisten2theradio · 28/01/2013 11:12

Well I have been drooling at cake recipies this morning.
Not for myself you understand, but I have agreed to make a cake for a 50th Birthday - just a small gathering of friends not a big party as she is doing that later in the week.
So I can't choose. So many of them look lovely.
I am torn.
An I promise I will try and resist eating any of it too Grin

cathyandclaire · 28/01/2013 11:15

Well done Boobz, you look fab...great abs Envy what an inspiration!
brushes dust off Shred DVD
Good luck with your move :)

catinboots · 28/01/2013 11:20

Marking place on shiny new thread

PostBellumBugsy · 28/01/2013 11:23

Just back to say WOW to Boobz - amazing muscle definition there! Really, really impressive. Just off to investigate this P90X thing of which you speak!

Collywibbles · 28/01/2013 11:31

Boobz - you look flipping amazing! Wow! What an inspiration!

Jac - really sorry to hear your news - thoughts with you all and be gentle to yourself.

Had a crap night's sleep with horrific indigestion (at least I think that is what it was - never had it before) and had a coffee with cream when I let the dogs out at 6am this morning before I remembered it was weigh day so will weigh tomorrow.

I have been super strict this week and had NO NUTS - which is a huge thing for me as I had got into a bad habit of grabbing a handful for breakfast and in between exercise classes. We will see.

I have been reading Dr Briffa's book this week - interesting read. I have ordered another one about training on a low carb diet. I do a lot of exercise (body pump / combat / boxercise / tabata / circuits / running / bokwa) and have been fine while low carbing so far. I just smile at the instructor when she tells me to have a banana!

Well done to those who have had losses and "keep the faith" if you have sts or had a gain.

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2013 11:45

STS for me which is fine as I did have some carbs over the week I was ill. Back to it today!

pyjamalover · 28/01/2013 12:21

Hi everyone, jealous of your boozy weekends as I was working!
Sorry to hear your news jac.

All going ok for me, not losing much weight but actually I stupidly didn't weigh myself on day one, just guessed it was 2 pounds more than a week later, so may have lost more in 1st week. I do feel a bit slimmer, trousers definitely looser. Also no IBS or headaches!

Easily resisted crumble and custard on friday, just said I was full and nobody commented.

Thanks for the advice about the potassium BIWI, I had suspected same, have been trying to include those foods more, trouble is I don't like things too salty but am making an effort to add it. Thirst is more bearable now.

Now going to meal plan my week which I irrationally hate doing!

GinotPrigio · 28/01/2013 12:37

1lb down for me this week which I'm happy with considering I ate like a monster this weekend (all low carb though!)

Currently have the chicken carcass from yesterday's roast simmering to make chicken soup. I love that this woe is making me cook from scratch all the time now.

Great pics boobz well done!

HavingAnOffDAy · 28/01/2013 12:40

Marking my place & saying WOW to Boobz - you look amazing! I'm sure it was hard work but well worth it Grin

BlackAffronted · 28/01/2013 12:48

Ginot, add a pic of your soup to the food porn thread :)

BlackAffronted · 28/01/2013 12:51

Forgot to say well done to Boobz! You are looking extremely toned!

theDudesmummy · 28/01/2013 12:58

Embarrassed to put weight onto spreadsheet as I have gained...I know why, it is from drinking wine over the weekend (social occasion on Saturday)...
I think I will wait a day or two to weigh as I can feel I am not right today (and also have not gone to loo....hoping that is part of the problem...sorry if tmi).

I have a goal of losing 1kg (about 2lb) a week, but have left room for some slippage as my real goal is to be 10kg down so 56kg (124lb) by my big 50th birthday party in August (having it on a beach in a hot country so no chance of hiding the flab!). I do however really want to get to the goal signifcatly ahead of the party.

So, slippage already, oh dear!, but on we go...

Doshusallie · 28/01/2013 13:10

Hi all.

In case you missed it as she posted on the old thread, FrouFrou lost her Dad last Thursday, so look out for her on here, think she needs our support.

Greek yog, for brekkie
the most amazeballs 3 egg omelette with mushrooms and smoked salmon served with coleslaw for lunch. Yum.

Seeing Les Mis tonight so might have to skip tea, will have some celery and ham before I go.

Lastyearsmodel · 28/01/2013 13:13

2lb off - I may only have had a steady loss each week but I now weigh less than I have for 3 years. The downward trend is giving me hope.

Also, not sure, but my psoriasis looks better. I don't get the tired slumps mid-afternoon, so feel much better and calmer by the usual flashpoint of bath and bedtimes.

Nobody's noticed yet though... Grin

thekitchenfairy · 28/01/2013 13:23

Hello everyone,

2lb down and TOTM for me so the best Monday ever so far this year!

all a bit wet and windy down here in the Duchy so treated myself to a coffeeshop decaf coffee and cream... With a big sprinkle of cinnamon. V warming and rewarding.

Still not over the sugar cravings but not v hungry much at all... Do I need to go back to bootcamp hardcore and stay there til they go for more than a day or so?

BIWI thanks for asking kids question to Dr Briffa, feel v reassured now and Hope you had a good day. Have posted on request for webchat thread too.

Happy losing everyone.... Boobz those pics are fantastic, really inspirational!

Thanks dosh I did miss that. Much love to froufrou. Very sorry to hear your news.

TheEarlyBird · 28/01/2013 14:03

Just marking my place - will be back to catch up later!

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 28/01/2013 14:47

So sorry froufrou to hear your sad news. Such a difficult and painful time for you; go easy on yourself. I'm glad to hear our banter is helping distract you a bit - do come and join us when you feel up to it and we will give you lots of hugs and support.

Only a pound off for me but serves me right for drinking too much wine at the weekend. I knew it would stall me. Still happy with a pound though.

I too am boiling up a roast chicken carcass for soup. It makes me feel very earth-motherly, all this home cooking.

queribus · 28/01/2013 14:53

Hello all

Stayed the same this week, but measurements coming down so I'm too despondent. Accidentally ate pumpkin last week as well as wine so no surprise, really.

B - none, too much of a rush
L - smoked salmon, salad and an avocado
D - steak, spinach
