Week 4 - New Year Bootcamp - Where We Really Get Going

Morning all!

Quick post from me as I have to go to work. Damn that RL!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Remember that in this week, it is still likely that you may see very little or even no loss. This is entirely normal and will happen no matter how well you have been following Bootcamp rules

It sounds, though, like some of you are eager to report losses anyway, so that's brilliant!

However, there's been a lot of falling off the wagon recently, so can I suggest that we really get focused in this week and make sure that we don't allow the carbs to creep back into the diet? From here on, we're only really going to see losses of around 1-2lbs a week, so let's not sabotage things.

Unfortunately I'd rather drink wine than eat butter. I've discovered that I'm just not that bothered if it doesn't go with bread, although it is nice on veg and in eggs.

Skandi, hi again.

Guess what? I just had a herbal tea with a small teaspoon of coconut oil in it. I'm sitting in the living room with on,y a lamp on so couldn't see the oil. I couldn't taste it and you're right it's just yummy. I had a liquorice tea. It has a sweet aroma that I love and the coconut just made I taste really heavenly! That's going to be a good way of getting some more fat into my diet.

Re the csections, I used to have a really strong core and a sort of flat stomach although I've always been a biscuit eater. I could easily wolf down a packet. In the last few years though I hadn't bought any. I still was eating chocolate and cakes etc. I did diet chef last year and as soon as I stopped I had the most irresistible cravings for biscuits, mine were waitrose essentials jam sandwich creams. It became an obsession so I caved and bought 3 packets so 30 biscuits and scoffed them in 2days. I loved them. I sort of just survived on them. Then I stopped and got into sweet coffee. 3 heaped teaspoons of sugar in each cup and about 6 cups per day. Gradually I was adding 4 teaspoons as it wasn't sweet enough.

I am so pleased that I am not a slave to that anymore. It's like a huge grey cloud has been lifted as I knew it was no good, but I couldn't control it.

Willie, thanks for replying. From next week I'll use your option of rounding up or down to the nearest half pound. Thanks so much.

Go away Novelty! How dare you speak of such things!!

NoveltySlippers · 30/01/2013 21:44

Haha. I know. I must wash my mouth out with soap and water!

Ruprekt · 30/01/2013 21:46

I think I will have a continental style breakfast tomorrow.

HB eggs, cheeses and ham.

L - will be broccoli and stilton soup

D - Salmon with feta, celeriac mash and broccoli

NoveltySlippers · 30/01/2013 21:48

Ruprekt - when not dribbling over American confectionary, I am WELL into my continental breakfasts.

Cheese and ham I've discovered is one of THE most satisfying ways to start the day. And keeps me full till lunch. Who knew? Am loving breakfast these days!

Valdeeves · 30/01/2013 21:52

Skandi - I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Well done for the weightloss - I honestly think I'm stable this week - will wait til week 6. I'm actually at my pre baby dress size but have a few lumpy bits I want to tone down (thighs are massive - upper arms bigger.). Anybody else had a shift in their rib cage which effected the clothes they wore?
Breakfast: three eggs, spinach and butter, almond milk tea.

Lunch: out and about - no low carb options in coffee shops when feeding DD (why is that??? How many ladies must do this diet??? Would it hurt them to have a chicken salad or packs or crudités??)

Tea: Boursin garlic and herb on buttered cod, cabbage cooked in butter and cream with salt, Aubergine crisped in oil, oregano and salt.

I am stuffed and head banging from a day of house hunting coordination. Looking for a job too. Also done some bra shopping which was quite funny as boobs completely depleted as breast feeding over for two babies. I had to laugh as I flopped them into various bras - they have gone from 36 DD to 36B.

Starfish - glad you and DS had a good night!

BlackAffronted · 31/01/2013 07:34

Awww, poor wee thing Starfish :(

skandi, hope you are getting more sleep!

I think bumped into a low-carber in the butchers - she was in the queue in front of me, and ordered a large piece of pork belly. I commented that I was buying some too, and it looked fab. She told me that she makes a yummy sauce from mushrooms, cream & boursin to go with it! Im so going to try that with my chicken tonight. Then we drooled over the thought of crispy crackling. She had an amazing figure! Definitely a low carber methinks :D

Menu yesterday -

B - bacon, eggs, mushrooms & sausages
L - Homemade burger with a meted babybel inside & salad
D - Pork chops fried in butter with salad & mayo
S - babybel

NoveltySlippers · 31/01/2013 07:50

Black that does sound good..... Don't forget to take a picture!

I am really so happy with this WOE (choccie craving moment of weakness yesterday aside!).

I have a happy incident as example - I saw a work colleague yesterday who I hadn't seen in months, and she couldn't believe my weight loss - she went on about it for about ten minutes!

She asked me how much I'd lost (I've lost 10 lb on this WOE in four weeks), and said it looked like I'd lost 10 kg! She asked me how I did it and I said I'd been trying to cut down on the carbs.

Then when I asked if she wanted milk and sugar in her tea she said no - she'd been inspired by me! Smile

So nice to get encouraging feedback, as it were. And people's wonder at my weight loss makes me glad I've made the change now, as clearly it was needed. (And does kinda make me wonder what I looked like before Hmm. Am 5'3" and think that every extra pound must show...)
