Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Maggie hope you feel better very, very soon. Bonchitis is miserable.

Catinboots toughy mcduffy that one. I second eating before you go so you can minimise damage. Pick out the chicken and prawns, push it around a bit, slip it into DH's bowl when the hosts aren't looking?!? How good friends are they? Could you just say you don't eat rice and take something with you?

Valdeeves · 19/01/2013 15:31

BIWI - I think it's a healthier diet for me. We eat a huge portion of veg with lunch and dinner and I've also eaten alot more fruit. I think you might up your quantities of red meat on this diet I suppose which is not supposed to be healthy?
For me, as I mentioned before, I have a blood pressure/blood salt issue and generally felt rubbish off and on. The stabilising of my blood sugar has made a huge difference. Pregnancy made me gorge on sweet things every night and I never again will (so I can't wait for the end as I'm craving a nice moist piece of chocolate cake - I can almost taste it..,,,)
Loving the weight loss though - I'm going to keep an eye on my wobbley thighs as they seem to be the only thing not changing!
Slatternly - I know soft play well - had a crazy year of squeezing my pregnant self through it. Thankfully by the time my DD was born DS was able to do it all himself - its light a giant hamster wheel for small kids.

Valdeeves · 19/01/2013 15:32

Sorry dont know why I put that - obviously I've eaten NO fruit - I meant to say I've drank alot more water! I'm tired - DD has a cold and kept me awake alot.

Valdeeves · 19/01/2013 15:33

Maggie - I hope you are feeling better

slatternlymother · 19/01/2013 16:00

I'm back from soft play.

I'll catch up after I've recovered.

BlackAffronted · 19/01/2013 16:01

Have decided to take todays weight off the spreadsheet & weigh in with you guys on Monday, and take that as my official weigh in.

BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 16:11

frenchfries - are you taking a Vitamin B supplement, e.g. Berocca? That turns your wee green.

AuntieMaggie - sorry to hear you're poorly. That sounds really miserable. Don't worry about Bootcamp. Do what you need to do to get better/make yourself feel better.

Valdeeves - no evidence that red meat is bad for you. That's based on it containing saturated fat, and there's no evidence that saturated fat causes heart problems. Processed red meat is another matter! Another Briffa piece

catinboots - hmm - avoiding paella is going to be impossible! Do you know them well enough to explain that you can't eat rice because you're low carbing? If not, I'd have to agree with the others. Eat before you go, and then only have a small portion - see if you can snaffle more meat/fish than anyone else! Hopefully they will be serving a salad or something less carby with it! If you really can't avoid it, then just go with the flow, and have a couple of uber strict days afterwards. It's all part of melding low carb with real life.

thatgirlsevil - you're on the spreadsheet now - right at the bottom. I don't want to try and re-alphabetise it in case I mess it up! Just enter your weight in the relevant columns.

thatgirlsevil · 19/01/2013 16:27

Thanks BIWI.

Despite feeling absolutely hungover rotten I haven't resorted to scoffing crisps or choco today. So far...

B - Bacon, eggs and cup of tea
L - Kippers in butter, fried egg, baby gem lettuce.

I've also managed about 2ltrs of water but it's been a bit of a struggle as my throat is sore as well.

Iamaslummymummy · 19/01/2013 16:40

Have just taken advantage of a veg box offer at http://www.kentvegbox.co.uk/index.html . 3 weeks of medium beg box for £18 as they have a 50% off offer atm. I've said I doing want potatoes, parsnips and carrots. They cover Kent medway and London

Iamaslummymummy · 19/01/2013 16:42

We're on week 3. I have some vanilla ice cream in the freezer Grin .

Gammon for dinner. I've rediscovered my love of a hard boiled egg and mayonnaise. Life is good!

Lavenderhoney · 19/01/2013 16:42

Very sorry for anyone having a hard time or feeling ill, I hope you can take it easy / get well soon.

Today I have been drinking lots of water but I have had more coffee over the last couple of days, as dh bought some new grounds and wanted me to try them. I have eaten

B- got up way to late and had to rush to hairdressers so nothing. A couple of olives on the run. Vy awkward there as needed the loo endlessly:)
L- green beans, sausage
D- omelette with mushroom.

Snacks- bit of cheese/ pâté/ olives.

Big shop planned tomorrow with another go at getting some celeriac.

And weigh in in the morning. Quite keen, this week has gone very fast. And dh plans to start this woe tomorrow and is getting his strength up by finishing some popcorn I made earlier for the dc. I am hiding in the kitchen til he has finished.

BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 16:43

Lavender - you're not eating very much!

OP posts:
slatternlymother · 19/01/2013 17:04

Looking for celeriac crisps on this thread, but can't find them. I don't know if I keep whizzing past, but could someone tell me how to make them please? Thanks

Cracking headache Sad

Lastyearsmodel · 19/01/2013 17:05

Biwi Yes, def eating more green veg than I used to. Astoundingly, I'm also eating less butter even though I'm frying everything in it - must have been all the toast! And a loaf of bread is lasting forever in our house... hoping for good results on Monday.

Just had about 6 inches chopped off my hair - thats got to be a couple of pounds at least eh? Grin

bulletwithbutterflywings · 19/01/2013 18:50

Newsflash! Cauliflowers were bogof today in Tesco. This excited me a lot. [loser emoticon]

Doshusallie · 19/01/2013 18:52

Ooh have you black? I am so tempted to chop mine, it is very long.......

EwanHoozami · 19/01/2013 18:58

Novelty I read that Guardian piece too with a giant sigh. Having a GP in my family I am not surprised at the anti-LC message from one, even when the research 'against' it is so flawed.

Having said that, I spoke to my fabulous local GP about my WOE recently and she turns out to be quite a fan. She told me an interesting story about how her grandfather was also a GP and she found some of his old nutritional advice pamphlets from the 50's about how best to lose weight. Less pastry, potatoes, and bread seems to have been the gist, with advice about what veg had the higher carb content. Why did it have to change from that? Confused

captainmummy · 19/01/2013 18:59

I want to chop mine - but want to wait until the weather is a bit warmer. Don;t fancy a cold neck! But do fancy a MaryQuant bob, maybe with longer bits round face???? Hair is quite long now, longer than neck length.

Ruprekt · 19/01/2013 19:11

Am struggling a bit tonight but I think it is because my brain is telling me that I love to snack.

Packet of crisps, wine, breadsticks, crisps.............and as I am still full from breakfast I do not neeeeeeeed it but my brain tells me I love it!

B - scram egg, bacon, sausage, rocket and mushrooms

L - celery and cream cheese, pepperami

D - pan fried venison with some oil dressing DH made, roasted bn squash and swede and sprouts. YUm.

helpingout · 19/01/2013 19:16

Evening everyone!

Hope everyone is coping with the snow.

B - Omelette made with eggs and cream, bacon
L - Out to a local Italian restaurant so had steak in a cream and peppercorn
sauce. Had this with cauliflower cheese, carrots and salad. It was
gorgeous.
D - Going to have a rocket salad with spicy chicken wings.

Had a few glasses of sparkling water today. It really makes a difference to the litres of still water.

gloriafloria · 19/01/2013 19:27

BIWI I can honestly say I am eating far healthier now than before. And feel as though I am actually cooking rather than opening a jar or a packet and bunging in the oven. For me I have 100% more energy and have no sugar cravings.

MrsHerculePoirot · 19/01/2013 19:42

B - three egg omelette with mushroom bacon and red pepper and cheese.

L - green salad and halloumi (dd now a big fan - 'more loomy mummy it is my favourite!'

D - lamb kleftiko and green beans
