Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Oh they're bootcamp light! Excellent! Ill be having some on my yogurt on Tuesday then when I move on to BC light :)

MrsHerculePoirot · 19/01/2013 21:43

They are, as are all fruit, but berries are the best ones to have. I think blueberries are the least sugary followed by raspberries... I think as long as you don't have too many you are fine. Here is BIWIs rule from bootcamp light about fruit...

"Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and rhubarb are all fine. But please ? only once a day at the very most, and keep an eye on your portion sizes. Just for information ? these are the carb counts:
Rhubarb ? 0.8g carbs per 100g (but don?t forget you will need to sweeten this ? and not with sugar!)
Blackberries ? 4.4g carbs per 100g
Raspberries ? 4.6g carbs per 100g
Strawberries ? 6g carbs per 100g
Blueberries - 6.4g carbs per 100g (although this is a bit controversial - I have had differing carb counts from various sources - some saying as much as 12g carbs per 100g)"

PennyHofstadter · 19/01/2013 21:48

thenightsky my local Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys all only have the 0% Total with no space on the shelf for the full fat version.

PennyHofstadter · 19/01/2013 21:48

That makes me sound like I spend my time trekking around supermarkets looking for yogurt!!

BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 21:51

Penny - you should search out places where you can get the full fat version. Apart from the carbs, etc, the whole taste/texture is so much nicer!

bullet - Grin - three raspberries will not be meaning that you immediately gain 45 stones!!!

Clotted cream.... mmmmm

bulletwithbutterflywings · 19/01/2013 21:58

Grin biwi!

thenightsky · 19/01/2013 22:16

Local Morrisons definitely do FF Total. I got some there last week. Its only a small branch too.

slatternlymother · 19/01/2013 22:38

Bah. Just been to a friend's house and she's a nurse, so when I told her about my new WOE and how much weight I'd lost, she told me I was being unhealthy with the fats and it was unsustainable etc. I tried to explain a bit but I forgot the theory of it all and got muddled.

It's times like that you question yourself, especially because she's a nurse.

Other than that, I behaved myself food wise; the healthiest thing on offer was diet lemonade, which I know wasn't brilliant but better than the cocktails everyone else was drinking! Nibbled on cucumber batons and olives she provided. Felt rather good, apart from the ear bashing Confused

slatternlymother · 19/01/2013 22:39

Oh and it's worth checking if they do single pots of Total; our Tesco often has those and not the big pots, which sees me through a couple of days before I can get a big pot.

BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 22:52

slatternly - get yourself a copy of Dr John Briffa's book, "Escape the Diet Trap". He writes really well, and it will give you all the ammunition you need!

OP posts:
BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 22:53

... and sneaky question - is your nurse friend slim or overweight?

OP posts:
PennyHofstadter · 19/01/2013 22:54

I'll have to try Morrisons next time I'm at my parents. It's about the only place I haven't gone looking for FF!! Who knew they'd be a shortage huh?!

slatternlymother · 19/01/2013 23:00

I will BIWI I've got one on my Kindle atm but it's not as well written as you describe, so I will download that one.

My friend is technically overweight, but losing it and she chooses to lose her weight in a different way.

No one said I'd lost weight, but I definately have. DH says I look nice. Perhaps I just carry weight well Wink

mumat39 · 19/01/2013 23:03

Splatter lay, I felt the same when I spoke to my sister about it.

She just kept saying that everyone is different and one diet can't work for all people. She's even watched that video that was linked to when this bootcamp started. I also then can't remember all the details to defend my corner so to speak.

One of the things that I'm still slightly confused about is what did people eat and what was the problem with that before the whole cholesterol is bad movement started?

One of the other things my sister said was what about all the people the world over who rely on rice and breads as a staple food?

I also find myself getting a bit stuck for what to say.

Hmm
mumat39 · 19/01/2013 23:09

I really hate this ipad and it's auto flippin correct!

Splatter lay = slatternly. Sorry.

Valdeeves · 19/01/2013 23:14

Clotted cream and raspberries sounds lovely!!

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 19/01/2013 23:43

mum I guess back when we were hunter gatherers we wouldn't have eaten rice/bread etc, so it's not the diet we evolved on. But I haven't read into it so don't quote me; sure BIWI will have some fabulous Briffa article!

Had a really luvverly sea bass in basil sauce tonight, and also delish celeriac and Parmesan soup (DH doing WOE cooking to spoil me, but didn't listen about which veg I could eat so looked a bit crestfallen when I rejected his carrots and peas and helped myself to some little gem instead!)

Will post in recipe section when I get a mo.

BigStickBIWI · 19/01/2013 23:56

Those who rely on rice (who relies on bread?) may well be eating a kind of rice which is less 'easily accessible'. This is a difficult one, but I have seen someone write about it recently. Just can't remember who ...

Will see what I can find out.

However - there is some truth in the assertion that we are all different. But if you accept that we are all different, then why not accept that a low carb diet may suit some people?

Ah fighting the urge to eat my body weight in toast and wallow in self pity today woke during the night with a migraine and got my first AF this morning, that must explain the 3lb gain yesterday. Will make an omelette instead and do my very best not to stray!

MrsHerculePoirot · 20/01/2013 07:46

french big hug - at least it is here and that wait is over. Stay strong.

halfthesize · 20/01/2013 08:16

Good morning ladiesBrew

Slatternly that's rubbish, really annoys me that people feel they have the right to comment on this woe. I mean do we sit there telling them their food choices are badAngry
well done for not cheating and I'm sure you looked fab, I have found certain people I know don't comment re my weight loss, it seems to be a bit of sour grapesHmm

halfthesize · 20/01/2013 08:17

French so sorry for your loss, take good care of yourselfThanks

Doshusallie · 20/01/2013 08:46

Morning all.

Slatternly in that video link by that Swedish doctor he brought up the same point. That if rice etc is so bad why aren't all Chinese and Indian people in those countries overweight? He answered it by saying traditionally, they don't compile it with the saturated fat foods that western culture also eat. Although that is starting to change, hence the obesity spike starting in those countries. This also supports Zoe harcombe's diet of not combining fats and carbs.

Well despite only going to the gym once this week (bloody snow), so it isn't water retention, and despite staying indoors with the lovely central heating, so it isn't the cold weather, I have failed to shift the pesky additional pound this week, despite doing nothing different from normal eating and drinking wise. Cross. Completely stuck at 9 3.
