I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Effing Nora :(

CarriedAwayAnnie · 10/01/2013 18:38

Lol @ dh holding boobs!

Doing my shopping list for next week. What are you making sure you have in your cupboards next week?

DoubleMum · 10/01/2013 18:41

Well done mama2moo, that's a brilliant loss. Not easy to not have anything naughty in the house at all with kids though, especially when they love homebaking. You've inspired me though, as I'd like to lose that much, and since I've never been thin as an adult, I'm glad to know it can be done!

DoubleMum · 10/01/2013 18:45

LOL I'm not sure the boob-holding could be scientifically proven to work exactly, but it sounds fun!
Annie I went to Aldi today and spent £32 on totally healthy food except for 2 pizzas the children requested for tomorrow night. DH doesn't like pizza much so we can have something else. I was really pleased, got loads more for that than I would have at Tescos. I got lots of fruit and veg (cucumbers, salad potatoes, salad onions, little gem & cherry tomatoes are only 49p each) incl. sweet potatoes, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, feta, cottage cheese and natural yoghurt, eggs, lettuce, crispbread, cheese triangles, skimmed milk.

Lizzylou · 10/01/2013 18:46

Carrie, lots of veg and some bulgar wheat here.
Weighing bosoms? Am wondering if could try it by balancing em on the window ledge?
Must remember to draw blinds though.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 10/01/2013 18:49

Thanks Doublemum. I did exactly the same last week - went to Aldi instead of Tesco. Was worried they wouldn't stock half the things I needed but ended up filling the trolley and was worried I'd overspent but it came in at least 1/3 cheaper than my normal Tesco shop if not more.

Anyway, back to weight loss!! Thank you for the list that's really helpful.

What would also be helpful if people made their food diarys public on mfp so I could steal your meal ideas Grin

Are cheese triangles ok? - Yum!!!

CarriedAwayAnnie · 10/01/2013 18:51

yy bulgar wheat - must not forget!

I saw a recipe today that used quinola, what does taste like?

Lizzylou · 10/01/2013 18:54

I have eaten it on hols and it was lovely, tried to cook it at home and it was crap.
May try and find recipes as it is wonder food, high protein etc

Pinot · 10/01/2013 18:55

I love the word bosoms.

Lidl and Aldi are fab for weight loss foods. Their main lines are the essentials, and it's so much easier to sling loads in your trolley when you know it's cheap (and almost always good quality). Lidl in particular stocks alot of super quality german meats - on the continent, they just don't eat crap like we do. The quality is always so good.

I had cheese triangles today as a snack - sucked them to make them last. Light ones so fine cal/fat wise.

Also lentils are good to add to cooking.

DoubleMum · 10/01/2013 18:58

Oh bum. Bulgar wheat, I knew there was something else I meant to get.

nilbyname · 10/01/2013 19:11

My butter eban and leek soup today was delish, but I ate bread, with butter. shit sticks!

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 10/01/2013 19:14

Evening chiefs.

Had a shock tonight! Did us a spaghetti bollocks with quirk instead of mince. Weighed it out to a normal portion (200g cooked pasta 150g sauce) bit of cheese on top... 670 calories. I reckon I used to like my plate with about 600g of pasta and 300 of sauce then loads of parmesan. my old spag bol must have been about 2500 calories because I made it with real minvs Shock

No wonder I am built like a brick shithouse

mama2moo wow that is amazing! You must feel so different. You're right about not having the stuff in the house, my DH alas is an eat-anything-and-still-stay-thin sort. Envy

MaureenShit · 10/01/2013 19:26

I always Hmm at people on here who copulate morning noon and night.

It's called marriage fgs.

MaureenShit · 10/01/2013 19:27

You all must buy waitrose sardine al limone. Mmmm

kerala · 10/01/2013 19:31

Just clicked on this thread. Have always thought of myself as slim (as was in twenties/early thirties) however have been eating what I like for the last few months (biscuits crisps pasta) and was shocked have hit 11 stone (5 foot 6) I think lucky it wasnt more than that. Now on day 3 of changing eating habits entirely.

My plan is to eat NOTHING between meals no snacking whatsoever.

Have meals on little breakfast plates not great big dinner plates as my portion size crept up.

Cut out/minimise carbs.

I have never been on any sort of weight watch thing in my life so all new to me Blush. I want to lose a stone ideally and keep it off. Not helped by DH cycling 30 miles a day and looking like B Wiggins he needs the carbs but I do not!

juneybean · 10/01/2013 19:33

Aldi tinned mackerel has more calories than Asda!

Grin at spaghetti bollocks

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 10/01/2013 19:41

Ooof I was typing that on my shitting kindle, sorry for typos :(

GetOrf · 10/01/2013 19:43

lol at maureen more enthusiastic about lemony sardines than marital sex.

I love smoked mackerel withpepper on. You get loads to eat and it's not many cals at all.

After a day with no food I had a massive wodge of brie when I got home smooshed on some toasted bread. At the gym now waiting for my stir fry. Then 40 mins weights and 30 lengths.

GetOrf · 10/01/2013 19:44

I liked quirk and minvs bups.
