I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Effing Nora :(

I am officially changing weigh in day for me u til tomorrow. Am so not logging that I have put on a 1lb

Lulabellarama · 10/01/2013 08:35

Pooh Me too! There are two reasons this could be, as you'd actually have to eat about 4500 extra cals to put that much on.

  1. Too much salt in your diet causes your body to retain water
  2. If you are working out your muscles will be inflamed due to muscle repair damage, and also retaining water

It's not real 'weight', don't panic

Flisspaps · 10/01/2013 08:44

Second fast day for me today...thinking about doing it tomorrow though, had a tough night with DS and am going to my sister's house today, which usually involves a rather nice lunch.

Yes, tomorrow's better - I'll be at home then with my sad cup-a-soups and I won't feel like I'm missing out.

saintmerryweather · 10/01/2013 08:51

Weigh day tomorrow but i do tend to get a bit obsessive about weighing just to see how im getting on. Havent done it since monday when i was 12st 3.5 so itll be exciting ... unless i put on. will take measurements then too

nilbyname · 10/01/2013 09:00

I have just made soup for lunch and spag bol for supper. Get me!

My ankle hurts like a mo fo though, so another day of no exercise. I am trying to keep moving. Pathetic I know. And cleaning. About to vacuum and then attack the bathroom.

laurenamium · 10/01/2013 09:06

I must admit I'm also obsessive about weighing, I weigh myself every morning and have a seperate app which I log it in, it tells me how much I've lost since last time that week as well as over all and since the day before. It helps me keep on track the whole week!

boocha · 10/01/2013 09:15

What fresh hell is this?
Have been so impressively good all week and I weigh the same.
Shite.

Pinot · 10/01/2013 09:32

Don't worry about the weight loss yet - it's really early days. Losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint.

Don't lose heart, y'hear?

StairsInTheNight · 10/01/2013 09:47

boocha water retention, or being due on? If so you'll probably have lost but scales are not showing it yet.

Herecomesbod · 10/01/2013 09:48

Right. I am joining you. I have back hamsters caused by overeating during pregnancy and lazing around using the baby as an excuse. My boobs each weigh the same as a man's head. I have double-boobage and it's starting to look 'matronly'.

I am the heaviest I have ever been and at 5' 4" can no longer 'carry it off' with good posture. I need to lose 3 stone before I go back to work in Sept. I reckon it's do-able if I just move my arse off the sofa and stop mindlessly putting food in my mouth.

I am on MFP as Herecomesbod2013 (original non?) if anyone would like to be my friend [needy]. I just changed my calorie settings to 1400 as MFP doesn't take account of bfing.

Am also doing WW online as I like getting the recipe ideas. Anyone looking at my food diary on MFP for the last 3 days will see it's basically the same thing every day but I don't mind as this week is basically a kick-start to shift some of the timber. Hope to see some of you over there...

CarriedAwayAnnie · 10/01/2013 10:01

How often are we meant to weigh ourselves on MFP?

I need to go and do the The Shred

TigerFeet · 10/01/2013 10:16

I've been weighing myself twice a day (I know I know) but I think I'll log my weight once a week on MFP. My starting weight was from Monday morning so I'll stick with that.

I actually forgot to eat lunch yesterday Shock

Lizzylou · 10/01/2013 10:27

I have lost 1lb today. Have been weighing every other day.
I also have a painful case of spinners undercarriage Blush

Geeklove, your pics are fab, great abs!

Choos, my bingo wings flapped alarmingly this morning when I was gesturing at colleague. I also have 4 boobs in this work dress.

Hevak, Level 2 of Ripped in 30 is a big leap, I found it harder than level 4! But I like Ripped more than shred. May have a go this evening once boys are in bed.

DoubleMum · 10/01/2013 10:29

I reckon that might actually be the best way to lose weight, make yourself so busy you forget to eat!
I have a job where I've no choice to sit at the computer a lot, so I am doing lots of bottom clenches. It's a good job I work from home!

I have a desk job too DoubleMum but only three days a week and was off yesterday with active 3yp who keeps me occupied. I should hire her out, she's much nicer than Jillian Michaels.

TigerFeet · 10/01/2013 10:46

NaiceDude, 2,000 calories is nothing. NOTHING I tell ya

Brie & ham sandwich and wine will be full of calories unfortunately. Very very extremely tasty though.

OMG Lizzylou what do you mean Ripped level 2 is worse than Ripped level 4?! Shock Maybe I should cheat skip to level 3 from level 1? And pretend I am well 'ard? Grin

I have the choice of skipping lunch or having drive thru McDonald's today. I'm going to spend my lunch break racing home to let the builders in (don't ask). Currently MNetting while pretending to work. I think if I go for a cheeseburger and medium chips the calories won't be too high and I can make sure I have a healthy dinner tonight. Hmm Better than skipping a meal I suppose. In my defence, it's the bloody builder's fault - I had intended to buy soup like I have for the last couple of days.

hevak · 10/01/2013 10:59

Oh, but you'll feel great when you can namechange again Naice - start thinking about it now - how about NaiceDudeIsAFitDude Grin

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 10/01/2013 11:07

Morning chiefs.

Hevak, can't you have one of their deli wraps?

clinkingIceCubes · 10/01/2013 11:07

Genuine lol at spinner's undercarriage Grin

Carrie, sorry I didn't answer yesterday, RL butted in

The seeds and nuts thing - I dry roast pumpkin and sunflower seeds in the oven - stick em in a metal dish for about 10 mins (have to set timer or I forget and they burn), give them a shake and if they are golden brown they are done. They taste delish - roasty toasty flavour but, nothing added so it is all good. If I need a grab-bag in my handbag for work, I add in some raisins and almonds. Am afraid I don't weigh so can't tell you what quantities, but I'd say it's a couple of small handfuls.

It's a flavour I really like so it's a treat rather than just something to eat to try and put me off something 'bad' (ricecakes anyone? Bleurgh!), and I know it's got good stuff in vitamins-wise.

I guess I treated myself like a waste disposal unit for so long, these days I want to be nice to myself and put good stuff in!

Pinot · 10/01/2013 11:09

Do McDonkyDonks not sell salads anymore? Got to be better choices than a burger, yummy as they are.

Comfort food makes you uncomfortable

Pinot · 10/01/2013 11:10

xpost clinking

I'll try that with seeds, thank you. I don't like nuts at all, but seeds maybe? I hope so.

clinkingIceCubes · 10/01/2013 11:10

by the way, sorry to have brought rather a serious note to this thread - I really don't mean to give the impression that everyone has or is headed for an eating disorder Smile

But I learned so much about the psychology of eating behaviours in order to haul myself out of the hole, and some of it really applies to just losing weight for the right reasons.
