2013 Weight Watchers over here!

The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

Well done addicted on your loss - good line drawing! Think I need to do the same and just try to be more positive.

Lillibet any of that sauce left over??

flatmouse · 21/01/2013 09:52

sallybear - if you get chance, could you see if giraffe in eating out book - and if it is - what's low-ish points? (frustrated mine not here yet). TIA

didireallysaythat · 21/01/2013 11:15

Stuck at home in the snow. Bad news. The world revolves around the kitchen.... I was hoping to make up for the not-so-great weekend (I don't really track weekends). I think when I've lost 7lb I'll give F&H a go, but I really do want to make some progress first.

No chance of a run today - I could take Couch25k-Laura out for a run in my wellies but then again, maybe I won't. I shall spend the afternoon looking up 0-2ppt recipes to make and put in the freezer....

LegoAcupuncture · 21/01/2013 11:39

Well done on all the losses, no matter how low, a loss is a loss.

I've lost 5lbs this week Grin so m well chuffed as have been behaving, so 8lbs in 2 weeks.

Have had a manic morning so I'm yet to eat anything.

Thick with snow but kids at school. Will be walking the 2 mile to pick them back up though as the roads are pretty bad.

SallyBear · 21/01/2013 11:41

Sorry Flat mouse. I can't find giraffe listed on my iPhone, though jazzcat listed giraffe as one restaurant in the eating out guide.

flatmouse · 21/01/2013 13:59

Sorry SallyBear and Jazzcat i had it in my head it was Sallybear who had the book :) I've googled a bit and found a few for Giraffe - leaning towards the hot duck stir fry at 18pp but apparently there is piri-piri chicken WITH chips also at 18pp. As it turns out we're leaving the Les Mis trip due to the roads (and babysitter understandably not wanting to venture out) - but this will be valuable knowledge for when we do manage to fit it in (assuming my Eating Out Guide doesn't arrive before then!)

Wow Lego 8lbs in 2 weeks is fab!

bigTillyMint · 21/01/2013 16:46

Well done Flatmouse and Lego - wish mine was dropping off as quickly! Though my jeans do feel very very slightly less tight than 2 weeks ago!

LegoAcupuncture · 21/01/2013 17:35

Ive got a lot to lose, so it tends to come off quicker at the beginning. Will slow down in a week or two. Will be happy with 2lbs a week.

MagdalenVanstone · 21/01/2013 18:06

Hi everyone, well done on the losses and excellent drawing, crunchie.

Flatmouse, you can eat melon whilst all around are eating cheese and biscuits Shock my hat is off to you Smile

I've had a bit of a crisis of confidence here, due to the weather i've not been out to exercise since thursday, so only did tue and thursday this week.

Weight in tomorrow morning and i'm starteg to really worry i won't have lost anything- I did keep to the points every day and used only half my weeklies, but it just feels like too much food to me. We'll see, I suppose.

MagdalenVanstone · 21/01/2013 18:07

sorry for dreadful typos, really must start previewing before posting

AddictedtoCrunchies · 21/01/2013 18:12

Flatmouse I'm sitting here until 7pm and have my eating out guide if you want me to check anything. Just ask! Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 21/01/2013 18:56

Going out now but will check back in later Grin

onthemetro · 21/01/2013 21:07

Oh my flat mouse, when you asked about giraffe I thought you meant you were going to actually be eating giraffe! I was thinking blimey where did you get that from Grin

Not sure if you've all seen this but this week at group they're doing a selection box of WW chocolate treats for £1.50, think there's 5 in total, one of each that they do. I love the popcorn one and the honeycomb one. Definitely going to be getting this on Saturday!

Embarrassing Fat Bodies is on, time to gross myself out and keep myself away from the biscuits for another hour Wink

LegoAcupuncture · 21/01/2013 23:11

The thing with the WW stuff is that most of the decent stuff Dan only be bought at meetings. No good for us homely peeps.

Another good day. Could have gorged myself on stodgy cake and custard, but was good. Why does cold weather make me want to eat carbs?

INeedThatForkOff · 22/01/2013 07:52

Morning WWers. Sorry I haven't been around, I'm crazy busy with a marking contract and the DCs. I'm slowly losing though, and will try to post again on Thurs. Sorry, no time to read what I've missed!

SallyBear · 22/01/2013 08:40

I fear that my loss tomorrow may not be that spectacular. But if its a half pound off, it's still a loss.
Glad to see you Forks. Smile

NoWayNoHow · 22/01/2013 09:44

Morning all!

Wow, Lego, great loss! Good luck for your WI tomorrow sally

I'm tracking again because I'm just not convinced about F&H - some days, I think I'm eating more than I'd be allowed if tracking, but other days less, and I just don't know whether it's balancing.

eg Today, if you took what I'm going to eat, everything is from the F&H food list with the exception of the honey on my crumpet. If I was doing today as a F&H day, I'd have to take 1pp out my weeklies, but if you actually track what I'm going to be eating, I still have 8 dailies left even after the honey!

I don't know, I'm in two minds!

Hardly exercising either unless you call slipping on ice on the school run exercising, so I think tracking might be the only way I ensure a proper loss next week. Also going to change my WI day to Fridays as we tend to do most social stuff on a weekend, and I want to get to the end of the weekend and know where I stand for the week ahead rather than having to guess what I'm going to need before I eat it.

Hope you all have a good day, and that you keep warm!!

PseudoBadger · 22/01/2013 09:49

Well done everyone! I'm scared to try filling and healthy, my mind just won't let me believe that it can work.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/01/2013 10:07

Noway I changed my weigh day for the same reason. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Exercise has gone to pot this week. Staying upright is challenge enough. But the school runs must be doing some good

LegoAcupuncture · 22/01/2013 10:48

I Couldn't do filling and healthy, I need to be controlled, otherwise is so and fill my face.

I put on some jeans that I've not worn for a few weeks, they fit much better today, chuffed.

Good luck with the WI Sally.

onthemetro · 22/01/2013 11:24

I don't think I'm quite ready for F&H but I have been paying more attention to the foods highlighted in green on the app, and I'm noticing a difference in my consumption of crap which can only be a good thing. So I think I would quite like to try F&H but maybe in a few months Grin

Good luck for your WI tomorrow Sally!

I haven't been doing any exercise recently, I haven't even been walking to and from work because of the snow. Have made a pact with DP that we'll be using the Wii Fit daily from now on so hopefully that'll make some difference...

Can't believe I've actually eaten a bunch of bananas this week, usually they're left until they go bad. Grin

SallyBear · 22/01/2013 11:57

Banana cake........ That's what I did before with very ripe bananas. Snap out of it woman!!
It's the cold. It's getting to me. I have DS4 home with a temperature. He has autism so is impossible to medicate, so we are snuggled on the sofa watching toddler tv. He must be ill. He never snuggles. Trying to think of interesting things to do with half a chicken. Lots of milk left so maybe something in a white sauce. Ideas??

outtolunchagain · 22/01/2013 12:03

Really pleased and quite shocked , just been WI and have lost 2 pounds. Don't feel like I've been depriving myself at all in fact have been worrying that I have eaten too much

flatmouse · 22/01/2013 12:24

Well done outtolunchagain! Crunchie thanks for the offer - missed it - but trip postponed, may be looking for advice later this week (unless my eating out guide arrives), in which case i'll be happy to give answers too :)

Magdalen believe me - it was not easy! At the time i gritted my teeth and got on with it - but i am proud of myself :)

Just had my thai green veg soup for lunch - delicious big (ex takeaway) container full - 1pp! Will enjoy my lamb chop for tea - should be enough points left to make some red wine gravy to go with!

Sallybear good luck with WI. My week starts on Monday, and i quite enjoy the challenge of trying not to spend weeklies before the weekend!

I really do need to up the exercise though (currently all exercise gained through dog walks - so i know i need to do it) - must start Shredding!

tanfastic · 22/01/2013 12:27

Well done Lego and Outtolunchagain for your losses and anybody else that i've missed.

I've just been for my second weigh in and i've lost two pound this week so I got my half stone silver star - wooo! I've never lost half a stone in two weeks before unless i've had food poisoning Shock. Just goes to show it really does work.

Just made myself a lovely dish that someone told me about at the meeting. 3 slices of WW bread (3pp) slice a ton of mushrooms, grill and then transfer to a pan with 30g light Philadelphia (1pp), salt and pepper stir it all up and mix with some rocket and watercress and pile on the toast. It was really yummy and only 4 pp.
