The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

OP posts:

Stick, did you start your actual diet on Friday, or did you start it on the Saturday?

If you started Friday then I'd be temped to at zero point food throughout the day, so a huge salad, lots of fruit and then when you go out for the meal eat something with not a lot of carbs, so no pasta.

D you know where you are going? Can you plan your meal ahead and point it up?

I'm quite cheeky and never point alcohol in, although very rarely drink anyway.

chummymummy · 17/01/2013 12:23

I went to my meeting after a 3 wk skive and couldnt believe I lost 5lbs! I thought I had been binging and not tracking properly but wen I think about it I wasnt as bad as I thought. Definately not as bad as I used to be.

Its given me the boost I needed, so I have planned healthy meals for today.

CiderwithBuda · 17/01/2013 12:39

Frogs - thanks for link. Will have a look at it when DH is not around to mock me! I have to confess that I have a cross trainer that I should use! I have no excuses!

Chillyigloo - that sounds like a lot of fruit! I think I either read or was told that you should stick to three portions of fruit a day. It is high in sugar. I it's natural and I know it's good for you but it is still sugar. Are you having enough protein? If I have a hungry day I snack on lean protein. It fills me up more. Also - what did you have for breakfast? I can't eat weetabix. End up starving an hour later. Also can't have any of the quick cook sachets of porridge - they don't fill me. Old fashioned Scot's porridge oats however does fill me. I have it with skim milk and blueberries. Two poached eggs on WW malted Danish bread also keeps me going. If you are hungry try and have a snack that contains protein in some way. So a yoghurt with fruit - proper natural yoghurt not a low fat one. Or a couple of oatcakes with low fat philladelphia. Or a crumpet with a banana.

Stick - I would use this weeks weeklies on Friday night but be relatively sensible. You obv managed to get to today without using them all so maybe you won't use all your next weeks either.

Good day here so far. German style rye bread with low fat Philadelphia and smoked salmon for breakfast. A banana mid morning. Having soup for lunch with some ryvita.

Oh I did the cauliflower rice last night. Was very impressed! DH makes a great curry and he made it hotter than normal and I really couldn't tell I wasn't having rice!

SallyBear · 17/01/2013 12:54

Stick. If you joined last Friday, it's safe to say that you didn't start WW until Saturday. So what's left of your weeklies (25), technically can be used up tomorrow night.

As its obviously worrying you I would do the following;
Eat carefully tomorrow daytime, go out and enjoy the birthday meal tomorrow night and get back on the horse Saturday. Also don't tell the MIL you're on a diet, you'll get an even worse face pulled!

Stickwithit · 17/01/2013 13:08

lego and sally I guess its fair to say I didnt get going until Saturday, but I think my points allowance is automatically friday-friday (am using the app). So although I sort of strted on saturday, my weekly point were given from friday (I think).

Great idea about sticking to zero points foods on friday prior to my evening meal. I will know that I'm going to have a lovely meal in the evening so it shouldn't be too hard. Plus I'm having my hair highlighted and cut on friday, it takes hours, so I will be staring at my double chins in the mirror for ages- which is another incentive!!

Chummy that is fantastic.

Cider, I will try to be sensible, and you are right, I might be fine and not need next weeks weekly points but having them there 'just in case' gives me a boost IYKWIM.

I am definitely going to try the cauliflower rice, thank you for the suggestion.

ethelb · 17/01/2013 13:14

@metro yes it does a bit. I'm worried that I will have put on weight due to how sedentry it has forced me to be. I am honestly wondering if now really is the right time for me to be trying to loose the extra stone Sad

AddictedtoCrunchies · 17/01/2013 13:28

Stickwithit you could always change your weigh in day on SETTINGS to Saturday then it will start your 49 from Saturday. And it will motivate you to stay within your remining points Friday night as you know you're weighing Saturday morning.

Am doing F&H today so had porridge and skim milk for breakfast with a tbsp of sultanas then brown pasta, chicken and tom sauce for lunch. Tea is sausage and mash. I got the sausages out of the freezer this morning but have only just pointed them - 4pp each!!!!!! And I have 4!! No wonder I'm so fat cos that's 16 of my daily 32 points on bloody sausages!!

I'm away in Coventry this weekend on a course in a hotel so I need to stay on the ball as it ould be so easy to eat a cooked breakfast, a pp-filled packed lunch and chips for tea. But i will not stray from the WW way.

outtolunchagain · 17/01/2013 15:48

Can I join ,just joined WW on Tuesday, still struggling a bit with the plan even though I did do it a few years ago and lost some.Have a hip operation coming up so really want tp shift the weight.I did try SW last year but the leader and meetings were so depressing and the WW is much more motivating ,also hopig to use the app

AddictedtoCrunchies · 17/01/2013 16:46

Welcome outtolunchagain. This is a lovely, supportive, light hearted thread where we celebrate success and encourage and motivate. Have a read through and see what you think Grin

lilibet · 17/01/2013 17:18

Sorry, I made a mistake Blush, I've lost 11lb so far, but it has taken me since August Hmm, my ultimate goal is 9 1/2 stone but I want to be 10 somethng by my birthday.

It's weigh in tonight and as usual i'm sat here remembering my very bad weekend. I'm doing the going to meetings and on line thing and I find that if i forget to record my food for a few days it all goes wrong and this week has been one of those weeks.

Next week I will record everything.

Any other vegetarians on this thread?

Livinginorganisedchaos · 17/01/2013 17:22

I am feeling very proud of myself after going out with my work colleagues last night for a few drinks and sticking to diet coke and staying well within my daily points. I told everyone I was off alcohol for January and I was surprised that I didnt even get tempted to have a glass of wine. I am feeling so motivated today to stick to tracking and am keeping fingers crossed for the weigh in tomorrow.

Currently stressing over the weather as I am meant to be travelling down to London for the day by train from Scotland tomorrow for a work meeting. I am getting increasingly nervous that I may get there but then get stuck and not able to return.

CelticPromise · 17/01/2013 17:34

I'm not vegetarian Lilibet but I don't eat much meat, especially when I'm dieting! Last week I didn't eat any between Monday and Saturday. What are your favourite low points vege recipes?

CelticPromise · 17/01/2013 17:35

Well done organisedchaos. I find those types of occasion really tough!

lilibet · 17/01/2013 18:59

I lost 1 1/2 lbs so I now have 15 weeks to loose at least 14 lb Grin

Drink is my big downfall organisedchaos, so well done on sticking to the coke and not slipping a vodka into it.

Celticpromise this is really good and is 1point per serving, (it serves four)so I tend to make the whole thing and split it between me and dh with brown rice. [greedy]

1 Large onion chopped
1lb chestnut (or any) mushrooms quartered
2 teaspoons paprika (smoked is nice)
large tin chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons half fat creme fraiche

dry fry the onion (or spray oil) until soft, add the mushrooms and cook for 2 mins. Add the paprika. Pour in the tomatoes with 5 floz of water, bring to the boil and simmer for 15 mins. Remove from heat and stir in the creme fraiche.

I have the vegetarian cook book and there are some lovely things in there. I'll post some more in a bit but have to dash out now.

tanfastic · 17/01/2013 19:45

Has anyone tried the Schwartz slow cooker packet mixes? 2pp per pkt. I had the chicken provencal today and it worked out at 5pp as you only added tinned tomatoes and peppers. Was veeeeeery nice Smile

chillyigloo · 17/01/2013 19:46

Lillibet, my family an friends describe me as a meat eating vegetarian Grin I'll eat meat if its put in front of me but I'd never choose it. I do eat fish happily though. I guess that makes me a pescetarian Hmm - I do find it tricky to get plenty of protein though other than eggs, as nuts, seeds and pulses are sermingly quite high in pp.

Love the hairy dieters minted pea and feta omelette though - only 7pp if you use 2 eggs instead of 3. And it's quite a filling meal with a salad.

tanfastic · 17/01/2013 19:47

Well done on everyone's losses so far Smile

backinaminute · 17/01/2013 20:45

I've had my first wi tonight and I've lost 2.5lbs. I was hoping for 3 but I'm still pleased. I feel like a bit of a fraud as I get so many extra points for feeding but still would have eaten more previously. I've eaten loads and feel I've eaten well. I didn't touch my weeklies as I didn't need to but it makes me think that if I did use them my loss might be quite feeble, if at all. We shall see how next week goes. I think it's just because I'm used to loosing a bit more at the start of any diet. That said, it's never worked before as I'm back here again Grin

I have been so hungry the past couple of days, think Ds is on a growth spurt and is being a bit relentless. I just keep eating rice cakes - cucumber sticks and carrot just don't cut it sometimes. Any ideas for other low pp super filling snacks gratefully received.

I do love this thread and lurk all the time. It's a much better source of support than the meeting.

Does anyone have the ww scales? i need to buy some new ones and can't decide if they would be worth the extra money. I've got a voucher but they would still be £35Blush

Thanks and well done to everyone else.

didireallysaythat · 17/01/2013 21:03

Back from my wi - 2 off which was a nice surprise. And then I went to the supermarket (love shopping in the evening without the family) - I find if I write my shopping list in the meeting, having read the weekly magazine, I buy more vegetables ! Going to check out the recipe thread now...

LegoAcupuncture · 17/01/2013 21:11

I bought WW scales in 2004, they are still going strong, never had to change the battery either.

Well done on the losses both of you.

lilibet · 17/01/2013 22:00

chillyigloo, do you have a recipe or a link?

SallyBear · 17/01/2013 22:01

That looks really lovely Chilly. Do you need to put in the mint?

SallyBear · 18/01/2013 07:42

Chicken stroganoff recipe here

bigTillyMint · 18/01/2013 07:58

Chicken stroganoff looks lovely and easy!

Am now panicking as we have a party to go to tomorrow where there will be all sorts of fattening foods and lots of drink....

Vajazzler · 18/01/2013 08:30

Glad to see everyone is doing well. I've been earning AP's like it's going out of fashion thanks to no car. 26 earned yesterday 18 the day before.
The stroganoff recipe looks yummy will have to add that to my list of meals for next week.
bigTillyMint could you take a dish with you? Then you would know the pp of that dish and make good choices from the rest of the offerings?
