The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

WW angel delight whip thing was absolutely disgusting Confused Not sure what I expected really for 2pp for the entire sachet and considering the ingredients all seem to be nasty chemicals Grin I'm usually ok with artificial sweetener and love diet coke, but its all you can taste in this, bleurgh.

I'm watching Embarrassing Fat Bodies Confused its so sad. Is it bad to say that it's almost like motivation? Do not want to end up like the people on here Confused

CelticPromise · 14/01/2013 22:43

Well done everyone who has lost! I weigh in tomorrow...

Have been so obsessive about sticking to plan I found myself with about 30 weeklies left today so I treated myself to a huge bowl of pasta. I didn't swap any activity points this week either.

Do you all have an aim in mind for activity points? I'm going to try to aim for at least 30 a week.

SallyBear · 14/01/2013 23:38

Metro. I watched EFB too. Very sad, very depressing. I also watched the Weight loss ward last week. That WAS depressing.

Celtic. Wow if you can manage 30 AP a week, I will be very envious. Not really very good at motivating myself to exercise. Truth being I'd feel happier just getting the first half stone off before I start exercising. Weights strapped to ankles and wrists while you walk are good.

I really haven't substituted anything low fat except for Anchor light and light cheddar. Everything has been a conscious decision to eat better and to try and keep the nasties that you get in a lot of diet foods down to a dull roar.

onthemetro · 15/01/2013 00:01

I think I'm going to try and get out of the mindset that something 'light' or low fat is automatically better for you, when they're usually full of crap and probably the same amount of points anyway - I think it's digestives where the light version are the same number of points as the normal ones, so what's the point?! Hmm.

I came across some Hobnobs cookies today that the tracker said were 0pp! Must be a glitch of some sort, surely?! They are McVitie's Hobnobs Chocolate Chip & Hazlenut Cookies, and according to the tracker you can have 4 before it's 1pp. Crazy!

Celtic, 30 a week would be amazing! I don't think I'll be able to do that right now, but I've been going for long walks recently and have done 13 since Saturday so who knows, maybe I will manage to do more than I think. I have used them, but I still have all of my weeklies. Not sure if it's better to forget about the activity points and just use weekly points?

tanfastic · 15/01/2013 06:54

Morning ladies, just checking in Smile
My first weigh in this morning scared.

somebody earlier mentioned the wafer mallows at 1pp. They have the. WW caramel ones at my local pound shop. Put one in the microwave for ten seconds. Oh.my.god! Bloody lovely, all gooey and great for a sugar craving. Can't grumble at 1 pp either.

SallyBear · 15/01/2013 07:07

Metro, that can't be right about the hobnobs!!!! Have you used the dietary information to work out per biscuit with the pp calculator? I looked up mcvities site, but they don't publish the dietary information.

I ran the gauntlet of the sweets and biscuits aisle yesterday in Sainsbury's. ignoring their temptations......

Vajazzler · 15/01/2013 07:17

Morning all! Hope the weather is ok for everyone today. Yesterday was exauhsting. School run>> walk to town>> back to school>> walk home>> back to school >> home again = 22APs earned Shock

Weigh in tomorrow. My first since 19th December. I'm a bit worried now!

SallyBear · 15/01/2013 07:27

Vajazzler, regardless of whether you over did it at Xmas, the point is that you're not overdoing it now. You're making a massive effort to get back on target and to get fitter and healthier etc. I still haven't really adjusted my mindset to the get fitter bit...... but I will. Smile

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 07:36

Bloody hell Vajazzler, how many hours were you walking for to earn 22AP's?Grin I only earn 7 points for 40mins interval trainingShock

PseudoBadger · 15/01/2013 07:39

Are the hobnobs mini?

Heartbeep · 15/01/2013 07:39

hi can i join?

i joined WW in October & lost 9lbs in the run up to xmas. then xmas happened & I've fallen off the wagon.

I'll weigh myself this morning (currently feeding DS) & report back how much of the 9lb loss has gone back on, a lot i'm assuming Sad

got a family wedding end of Feb which i'd like to look trimmer for, that's my first goal.

CelticPromise · 15/01/2013 08:03

Yay 4lb off!

Maybe 30 APs a week is a bit ambitious... but I had 34 last week and feel so much better for the exercise I'd like to keep it up! It will be easier when I'm playing rugby because it's 14 points for a match. I'll give it a try anyway!

Welcome Heartbeep Smile

Heartbeep · 15/01/2013 08:18

thanks Celtic

well the good news is no gain over xmas woohoo!

so i'm 11stone 1lb and would like to be 10stone. that's my pre both children weight. DD is 3.5yo DS 16 weeks. no more children the weight has to go!

SallyBear · 15/01/2013 08:34

recipes here

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 08:44

Well done Celtic! And no gain Heartbeep - good on you going for losing the baby weight so soon - it took me 3 years to make the effortBlush

onthemetro · 15/01/2013 08:55

Sally, I know! I did run it through the calculator and it came out as 1pp each, which is probably more like it. But they're quite thick biscuits, and so I thought they'd be way more. And badger they're not mini ones! Not sure what's going on with that Grin But I didn't buy any anyway.

Wow Vajazzler, well done on the APs! That's quite the walk Grin
Well done beep and celtic on the WIs! :D

I'm hoping to earn a few APs today as I'm going to be walking quite a lot. I found a great app yesterday for my iPhone called Stiiv which is a pedometer app... www.striiv.com/

I want to buy a proper pedometer at some point but for now I figured this app will do, and it's a lot better than I thought it was going to be! I took it out yesterday and it's more accurate than I was expecting, and a lot of fun as it gives you challenges to beat (like, do 100 steps in 1 minute, etc) and you can add friends. Though at the moment I don't have any, so if any one has it do add me Grin

CiderwithBuda · 15/01/2013 09:37

Hello all. Well done on all losses so far.

I am struggling big time. I joined WW last Jan and by end of June had lost 33 lbs and was doing really well. Went on holiday in July and only gained 1.5 over two weeks. But since then I have been a disaster zone. For every good week I have, I have two bad ones. Have now regained 9 lbs. I keep starting a new week with great intentions but can't keep it up.

Over the years I have done so many different diets. I get to a two stone loss and then lose motivation.

Last week I had a good day on Tuesday, was away with friends on Wednesday night which was supposed to be my weeklies (lots of champagne, wine and food). Even took healthy snacks with me to have on train. Got home and did ok on Thursday and Friday then went off the rails on Saturday and Sunday. Woke up early yesterday morning SO disgusted and angry with myself that I was really depressed and tearful all day.

I'm not tracking. I don't know why. Just can't seem to get back into the routine. I weighed this morning and haven't done too much damage thankfully. I should go to meeting this morning but can't face it. I know I will cry.

Had a chat with DH yesterday about it all which helped a bit. Then had a bottle of wine which made it all seem better! Followed by cheese and crackers, chocolates and a cheese sandwich!

Disaster.

So. Feeling a bit better today. Am about to do a menu plan and go to Sainsburys to stock up. Am also going to hunt out my WW journal from last year when I was doing well to see if that inspires me.

I need a kick up the backside I think. I know it works. I know tracking is key. I know I like the fact that nothing is banned once you track it. Why the hell am I messing about with it so much? Why can't I stick to it?

Sorry if this is all a bit self indulgent but I am so frustrated with myself. I know what I need to do. I just need to do it.

NoWayNoHow · 15/01/2013 09:45

Morning all and welcome Heartbeep

I am devastated. My sole source of comfort and joy (Eat Natural dark chocolate, brazil nut and apiricot bars) are 3PP more than I thought! When I worked it out last year, it came up as 3PP, but last night 6PP! I think the latter is probably right judging by how hight the carbs are in it.

So basically, when doing the F&H plan (which I'm doing this week), just one of the bars each day is all my weeklies almost! And I love them so much...

Crumpet with egg and baked beans for breakfast today, tuna and brown rice salad for lunch, and spag bol for dinner. Hoping I don't get hungry as I've not prepped any 0pp/low pp stuff to snack on! Still taking a while to get my head around being organised in advance.

Re: activity pp, I'd love to get back doing my Davina/Shred DVDs but I simply physically do not have time. DS up crack of dawn, school run, straight to work, straight from work to fetch DS, looking after him till bed time, then it's dinner time, and by the time I actually stop for the day it's after 8pm and I just can't think about exercising. How do you guys fit stuff in?

LegoAcupuncture · 15/01/2013 10:03

Well done Celtic.

I managed to stay within my points last night, well chuffed.

Will be doing loa of walking today, thick with snow so will be like resistance training Grin

onthemetro · 15/01/2013 10:08

Cider, I think we all feel like that sometimes. What makes you lose motivation, do you think? If its tracking, maybe try a filling & healthy day instead so that you don't have to count, or if it's just bad food choices just take it every meal as it comes and try and choose better. It doesn't have to be 100% while you're still getting into it, but every little step helps Smile

Go the meeting if you can, maybe staying and talking to others will help you.

I'm feeling a bit down as I just weighed myself before hopping into the shower and it seems as though I'm back to my starting weight Hmm so...4lbs on since Wednesday? Sad I've stuck to my points, haven't really touched my weeklies and I've been getting more exercise than I was last week...so I don't get it! Going to keep at it and hope things improve before Saturday...

SallyBear · 15/01/2013 10:14

Cider. I too have walked your path and its trying to get that motivation going again that is the hardest part. I decided that one thing I struggle with is the tracking. I find that I get obsessed with food, looking up everything first before I eat it, using up the last 3pp on something rubbishy like starmix - when really my thinking should be; if I'm not hungry then don't eat it. So this year I decided to go back to WW and try and try something new. I am doing the Filling and Healthy plan. Three pages of food you can eat, portion sizes are based on personal preference and anything not on the list is deducted from your weeklies. So I've been doing that for the last 15 days and so far so good. It's working. I'm not obsessing about food, my sugar cravings are under control and I feel ok. I'm in charge. I track yes, but its nice to not see numbers next to the items, just a green box. WI tomorrow and I have 8 weeklies still to use. Why don't you give it a go today. It might just inspire you.

SallyBear · 15/01/2013 10:25

Metro, period due? Don't lose heart. You're doing really well. I do remember being told that you should use the weeklies. On the iPhone app I have noticed that the weeklies get used up first and then the AP.

onthemetro · 15/01/2013 10:34

I've just had my period so it shouldn't be that...Maybe I should try eating my weeklies and see where that leads. Thanks Sally, I'm trying to just forget about it but it's difficult!

tanfastic · 15/01/2013 11:05

Just had my first weigh in and i've lost five pounds. I really can't quite believe it, i'm so bloody chuffed with myself as i've really not felt deprived, had a Chinese and loads of treats. Amazing. My mum lost 4.5 and we both got a round of applause in our meeting (ever so slightly embarrassing).

Love Weight Watchers Grin

tanfastic · 15/01/2013 11:07

onthemetro - do you go the meetings? If so I would try not to weigh yourself at home inbetween, resist temptation if you can because you might find your ones at home aren't accurate. I doubt you've put on four pounds.
