Morning!

And what a truly horrible morning it is.

Here is the spreadsheet to confess all

Let's see what we can do in the next/last two weeks. A couple of strict weeks to finish Bootcamp and hopefully we can shift some serious pounds.

Good day today foodwise, and the spotting/cramps seems to have gone Grin

Breakfast - scrambled egg with a dash of cream & butter

Lunch - Deli ham slices, babyleaf salad, coleslaw

Snacks - pepperami, cup of homemade cream of leek soup

Dinner - steak, garlic butter prawns & zoodles

To whoever asked, "zoodles" is a recipe I got from a US site, not sure if its on the recipe thread here or not. Its courgette ribbons, fried mushrooms, butter, dash of cream & lots of parmesan - utterly delicious! I think its called zoodles because of courgette being called zuccini over there.

PorkyScratching · 29/11/2012 20:34

Ive beentaking photos of some of my meals, and made a photo album to show my sister who is interested in LC but thinks it might be boring - I want to show her its anything but! I think they look pretty tasty (if I do say so myself), they are here if anyone wants to have a peep :) here

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 29/11/2012 20:53

Boring?! There is absolutely no excuse for food to be boring on the WOE, given all the lovely things that we can eat!

(BIWI here in my Franglais name)

nappyaddict · 29/11/2012 20:55

BIWI

Where do you get the carb values from that you post on here?

I keep reading that it's only the net carbs we need to count (total carbs minus fibre) as fibre cannot be digested by the body. Is this right?

nappyaddict · 29/11/2012 20:58

PorkyScratching

What are zoodles?

Can you post the recipes for breakfast frittata, breakfast muffins, eggs in purgatory, chicken fricasse and cheeseburger pies please?

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 29/11/2012 21:00

nappy - net carbs/removing fibre is what they talk about on American websites. Food labelling is done differently here.

Most of my carb counts come from www.low-carbdiet.co.uk/, but if they aren't listed there, then I just Google them.

Rollergirl1 · 29/11/2012 21:55

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on this thread for a little bit but thought i'd officially join you.

I've been attempting to low-carb for around the last month now. I am also doing a mixture of Ripped in 30 or swimming (50 lengths) 5 days a week.

I am 5ft 3 and my ideal weight post children is around 9 stone. I have managed to creep up to closer to 10 stone in the last year, despite still exercising regularly.

So I have been cutting out alcohol during the week. My meals consist of yoghurt mixed with oatbran for breakfast. Lunches and Dinner I tend to mix and match but generally are things like thin cut steak with roasted veg (mushrooms, courgette, peppers and tomatoes) or chicken breast wrapped in parma ham with leeks and asparagus. Or Smoked Haddock with scrambled egg. Also my DH really likes to cook and I feel bad that we end up eating seperate meals a lot of the time during the week. So if he cooks a curry or chilli con carne or some kind of pasta dish i will have it but without any rice or pasta.

At the weekend I definitely relax a little and drink wine and have a few more starchy carbs, but still not excessive.

I started at 9 stone 11 and this morning I weighed myself and I was 9 stone 5 so i'm pretty pleased!

It was also my birthday this week (last year in my thirties) and DH took me to lunch at Heston Blumenthal's at the Mandarin Oriental. I had decided that I was not going to worry about what I was eating and just enjoy. We ordered prime rib for two that came with thrice cooked chips. I managed to not eat any chips and just had the beef and greens so I was very pleased with myself!

WineGless · 29/11/2012 22:35

Hi roller girl and welcome!

Happy birthday for last week and well done on resisting the chips. I find it really isn't any hardship as I don't enjoy the taste any more

Quickly checking in before bed - night all

Viperidae · 29/11/2012 22:56

Well I have been tackling the Xmas shopping today in an effort to get myself organised. I have a lot less to buy for now as many friends' children have come off the list (we all agreed to stop buying for them at 18)

I have my first Christmas party on Saturday, second one on Thursday and third one on Friday so the next week could be interesting!

caramelwaffle · 29/11/2012 23:10

Welcome roller girl

porky the pictures are really good for illustrating the lovely food we can have.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 30/11/2012 07:33

I also have to confess a small slip into a huge chai latte and an almond croissant yesterday. Sadly it tasted lovely (was hoping I wouldn't like it now) and today am 2 lbs up so not good.
Still waiting for TOM to start and must say this month I feel lousy with it though no bloating so that's good.
More Xmas shopping today so need some willpower to resist stopping for coffee and cake which is what I would usually do ( several times).

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 30/11/2012 08:31

STS for me - so won't be hitting my target this week. Looks like I'm saving it for the last week of Bootcamp!

Off to my party today. Six courses and a different wine with each course. Lunch starts with Champagne.

Scallops with roast pork belly, followed by sole, followed by boudin blanc, followed by fillet of beef, then apricot bread and butter pudding Blush and cheese, coffee and chocolates.

I shall be waddling and weaving my way home at some point later this afternoon/early evening Grin

NewStartSameStory · 30/11/2012 08:38

well this weekend is our official family christmas. full christmas dinner and everything. We are all over the world for christmas day so it works for us. Needless to say I have fallen off the wagon but will be back after the weekend in the joys that will be heading towards carb flu etc. Not weighing today I want to know what damage i have done so will weight monday. Have brilliant weekends and see you monday!

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 30/11/2012 08:45

You won't necessarily go through the carb flu - if you are properly ketogenically adapted you should be fine. Just look out for the cravings, and get yourself back on the wagon as soon as you can.

Happy Christmas!

SingingTunelessly · 30/11/2012 09:13

Newstart, have a good Christmas! I never get carb flu anymore just the cravings as BIWI says.

BIWI your lunch sounds amazing. Enjoy!

I shall be working outside most of the day so hopefully I'll shiver a few pounds off. Brrrr.

WineGless · 30/11/2012 09:23

Happy Christmas new start- have a fab weekend with your family

Lavender - I used to reward myself when I went shopping with cake and coffee. Now I buy a nice magazine and a coffee instead for a treat. I changed my mindset after reading IPD where it says something like: nothing tastes like being slim feels and the cake isn't really going to make you feel any better. In fact if you are low carbing it is likely to give you stomach pains or a headache. Do you really want this? How did it make you feel when you saw the scales this morning? I'm off to do a bit of shopping but will check in to see how you are getting on ;)

WineGless · 30/11/2012 09:24

BIWI -enjoy your lunch. Ate you wearing the new dress today? You will look AMAZEBALLS

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 30/11/2012 09:43

Morning all, and festive jingles to newstart and the brave shoppers.

I've had a difficult week, with the lurgy doing the rounds in this house and all of us grouchy and snotty. Yesterday a friend asked if I wanted to meet her at our local garden centre type place for a nosy at the decorations, and she said she'd treat me to "a coffee". Lovely, thinks I, great to get out of the house. When I get to the little cafe bit, she is sitting grinning in front of a huge platter of carby yummies and says "I know you've had a tough couple of weeks, so I have booked us a proper afternoon tea!!" Aargh! It was so so nice of her to think of doing this for me, (she doesn't know I'm LCing I try not to be a woe/diet bore) I felt so guilty, I ate the lot with her. Mini sandwiches, scone, little cute home bakes. Blush

I was full for the rest of the day so no lunch and just a half a bowl of chicken soup and a slice of cheese for tea.

Absolutely starving this morning, craving toast but am having a chicken drumstick Confused as I have run out of eggs.

Viperidae · 30/11/2012 10:00

I made a chicken casserole in the slow cooker yesterday which was much appreciated as it was ready when we came in from Xmas shopping. I cut some courgettes into thin strips with the peeler and just tipped them in on top of the casserole and let the heat warn through them before serving. It was yummy!

Looked up zoodles as somebody mentioned above and found this

Jacaqueen · 30/11/2012 10:08

Hope you have a lovely time at lunch BIWI.

Merry Christmas Newstart and family.

Scales were a pound down this morning so I am getting close to losing 3 stone in total for this year. Most of that has been since starting Bootcamp at the end of April. So a big thank you to BIWI for starting the thread, the spreadsheet Meisters and all of you who post.

I am still feeling rubbish with this cold and chest infection. Think it has been about 4 weeks now. To make matters worse my car broke down yesterday and I still have nothing to wear to my night out next Friday. The boys break up from school 3 weeks today and I have only done about 10th of the Christmas shopping and preparations. House is a tip and I have no skin left on the end of my nose!

BUT

I weigh 38lbs less than I did 8 months go.

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 30/11/2012 10:46

That's absolutely brilliant, Jac. And I hope you are free of your cold/chest infection very soon.

Have just had my hair done, and about to go and apply make-up with a trowel which I'm not really very good at, as I wear it so rarely!

caramelwaffle · 30/11/2012 13:33

3 stone jac? Excellent!
