Morning!

And what a truly horrible morning it is.

Here is the spreadsheet to confess all

Let's see what we can do in the next/last two weeks. A couple of strict weeks to finish Bootcamp and hopefully we can shift some serious pounds.

38lb jac that is tremendous!

toomuch ah, bless your friend. I'd have scoffed the lot too.

I have finally achieved MN fame and have made the Talk Round-Up. With a story about a mooncup FFS. Thank heavens for anonymity Blush

jan2013 · 30/11/2012 16:38

wow jac thats amazing well done! im sure ur so proud of yourself. toomuch what a lovely friend you have - no better excuse for a cheat!

cathyandclaire · 30/11/2012 16:53

Doing dinner party tomorrow and trying to keep it low carb...at the moment it is:
Confit duck and sliced duck breast, red wine sauce, braised creamy cabbage and some other veg.
Chilli spiced chocolate mousse with chilli chocolate crisps
Cheese board.

Any ideas for starters that are a bit lighter...thought soup on top of all that may be bloomin heavy?!

cathyandclaire · 30/11/2012 16:54

PS...amazing jac, very well done bgrin

cathyandclaire · 30/11/2012 16:54

Well done jac. It's a great feeling, isn't it?!

hurricanewyn · 30/11/2012 17:57

Cathy - no suggestions for a starter, but that dinner looks delicious
Hi Roller
Biwi - hope your meal went well, that menu looks fab
Ewan - not exactly a claim to fame you'll be telling your children & parents about Grin

Thanks for everyone's concern yesterday. I went to bed early & woke up feeling great, so decided to go shopping. I was out all day & didn't have a chance to eat so now I feel properly exhausted, just wrung out. Def a day of rest tomorrow!

Dinner will be a low carb lasagne.

Hope everyone's well.

SingingTunelessly · 30/11/2012 18:03

Cathy, how about something light like smoked salmon? Your menu sounds delicious btw I love duck confit.

Jac, that is a great. [bgrin]. Am not Scottish but will join in with any cause for celebration me.

On that note, it's Friday and wine time.

Chin Chin Singing [bgrin]

Jeepers what a day. managed to fit in the gym and getting my nails done as well as a whole heap of stressful work. There should be an award for time management aka skiving

Also managed all the school ironing for next week, have washed 2 x PE kits, and planned clothes for the weekend.

Next week is going to be mega stressful so I am already wishing it over - 3 job interviews, 3 high pressure client meetings, plus the usual running around for the family.

Will try and forget all about it this weekend as am off to London without kids, with DH, to see Wicked, shop on Oxford Street and stay in a nice hotel. Can't wait and will not let my stress and foreboding for next week ruin it. Keep telling myself soon I will have a super shiny new job and can leave this muddle behind.

Hope your meal was great fun Biwi!!

Your meal sounds fabulous Cathy have fun at your dinner party.

HumphreyCobbler · 30/11/2012 19:31

Wow Jac, that is impressive.

We now have 15kg of low carb sausage mix, lots of casseroling pork, a fair few chops and a couple of joints from the pig we raised. It was very very fatty, esp compared to commercial pork, but this is not a problem for us!

I am v proud of my DH who processed all of this meat practically single handed, whilst looking after two children (one with chicken pox and one with a cold). I got offered work and we can't afford to turn it down, so left him in the lurch somewhat.

I will be able to have sausage patties for breakfast instead of bacon Smile

vnmum · 30/11/2012 19:48

Hi all well done to all who are still on the wagon and losing.

I have had a really busy and stressfull week and to top it all off today, my new childminder who i had got lined up has just dropped me in the shit by saying she doesn't want to do it anymore. She was due to start at the beginning of the new term and was willing to be flexible around my shifts. We were just sorting out details before she wrote up the contract and an hour after i last spoke to her saying we will get everything sorted, she text to say she wasn't going to do the contract as she wouldn't make as much money from me as she could potentially make from the places Angry. It would have been perfect for me and i doubt i will find someone else as flexible so i am now angry, upset and stressed as to what to do. As if this week hasn't been bad enough food wise (constant biscuits and chocs out at work tempting me when i'm rushing about) i feel like falling into a big cake or bar of chocolate.
I really thought things were working out for us then this bombshell is dropped.

Anyway, enough of my woes. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Doshusallie · 30/11/2012 20:22

Really sorry to hear that vnmum, I can empathise with how stressful and upsetting that is for you. Wish I could say something more constructive!!!! I am confident something else will work out but I am sure that's no consolation right now. [bsad]

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 30/11/2012 21:13

Jac 3 stone is amazing and very inspiring.

Wine, thanks, I know I need to change my idea of a treat but it's a longstanding tradition and just got the better of me this week. I've been good since so hopefully it won't cause a problem come Monday.

Today I had to skip breakfast as running late. Lunch was ham and coleslaw and dinner was pork belly and more coleslaw. Snacked on Brie (my favourite at the moment) and about 10 cups of tea with cream. Not great on the veggie from but hey ho. Managed about 2 litres of water which is better.

Reading an earlier post, can someone explain what keyogenically adjusted is and why it means a cheat shouldn't affect things too much. I know ketosis is where you burn fat for fuel but that's about it.

halfthesize · 30/11/2012 21:23

vnmum what a rubbish thing to happen, hope things get resolved soon x

Well done Jac & Dosh and hope you had a fab lunch today BIWI

Rubbish day here for me, had some riceBlush Now trying to drink loads of water!

Doshusallie · 30/11/2012 21:30

I am waiting for my:

Chicken shashlick
Lamb bhuna
Cauliflower Bhaji
Ralak panir

Salivate......

nappyaddict · 30/11/2012 22:05

Is that from a takeaway? What is in chicken shashlick, cauliflower bhaji and ralak panir?

nappyaddict · 30/11/2012 22:06

vnmum What area are you in in case us MNers know of anybody?

Jacaqueen · 30/11/2012 23:07

Thanks for all your lovely words.
I wasn't fishing for compliments. Infact I was a moaning to myself about how slow the weight loss was this time. But then I had a thought.

At the beginning of April I was 15st 2. Went on a crash diet before my Easter holiday and on the way home came across BIWI's pre Bootcamp thread. I started on 26th April at 14st 12. By my summer holiday at the start of July I was down to around 13 st. I more or less maintained this weight over the summer and started this Bootcamp on 1st October at that weight. Today I weighed in at 12st 6. If I can manage to lose 4 lbs in the next few weeks that will be 3 stone in 9 months.

It's hardly an earth shattering loss, but it is significant. It is certainly the most amount of consistent weight loss I have had in my adult life. If you lose a pound a week that is 52 pounds a year or 3 st 10lbs.

The best part is that I have lost this weight by eating, amongst other things, steak, salmon, cheese, cream and lovely veg. Not forgetting the nuts, dark choc and wine. Then there has been the occasional piece of nan or crusy bread, the odd spoonful of rice, the exquisite pudding etc. And lets not forget about those times when I have thought oh F it, and had the fish and chips or fudge cake!

In fact, when you look at the food I have had, you would think I should have put on about 3 stone.

I reckon I still have around 2 stone to lose. It doesn't really matter how long this takes because I know that it will happen and I know that I will have a really enjoyable time doing it.

Viperidae · 01/12/2012 00:21

That's a brilliant post Jaq, it's really inspiring for those of us who have a long way to go knowing that it can be done while still having a normal life.

I found a lot of vegetables in my fridge that were teetering on the edge of extinction so made a cream of leftovers soup and it is bloody gorgeous!

Whippoorwhill · 01/12/2012 09:01

Well done Jaq. Nearly three stone is brilliant and the slower you lose it the less likely you are to put it back on because this WOE becomes second nature.

Vnmum, I'm sorry you've been so badly let down, that really sucks. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find someone else. Just the stress you don't need this sidevof Christmas. :( Apart from the child care problems are you enjoying the job?

I am still temptingly 2 lbs away again from losing three stone. I'm feeling a bit flabby though. My gym contract ended and I don't have the money right now so thought I'd carry on at home, I've got the Shred videos and plenty of lovely places to walk or run. Surprise, surprise I've not done a single thing. I'm blaming the puppy for taking up so much of my time but if I'm truthful there are plenty of other people to watch her, I'm just lazy and it's cold out there. My entire exercise right now is a 20 minute slow amble while the puppy sniffs at stuff.

Far too much wine, chocolate, cream and cheese is happening lately and there might have been an accidental bacon sandwich too. Blush

cathyandclaire · 01/12/2012 09:09

Thanks singing.... Smoked salmon, great idea! My mum used to do a pâté -ish thing with smoked salmon, lemon and Philadelphia , may do that with some watercress and a slice of smoked salmon too.
Quite excited now, going to wear my new Primark skinny jeans!
Happy 1st December all!

SingingTunelessly · 01/12/2012 09:11

Lavendar keyogenically (sp) adjusted just means your body is used to using fat as its first point of call for its fuel. That's what the carb flu is about in the first few days that horrible feeling as it makes the switch.

Applauds Jac. Brilliant post. Smile

vnmum Sad. Don't know what to say. What an utterly crap thing to happen.

Hump do you slaughter your own pigs? I know somebody with a small holding in Wales that keeps pig and when we've had pork from them it is delicious, so fatty just right for us LCs.

Gorgeous sunny morning here but with a deep frost. I love days like this. Grin

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 01/12/2012 09:12

Morning all! Feel surprisingly well given how much wine/gin I drank yesterday Blush We came home mid evening, and I switched to drinking water, which obviously helped - and most of the wine was drunk with food, of which there was plenty, so that must have made a difference.

Having eaten way too many carbs at lunch, I topped it off by making DH and I a great big bowl of chips whilst we caught up with evening telly Blush

SingingTunelessly · 01/12/2012 09:36

Chips?!! Shock. Trust you dunked them in mayo ...... drools. Sounds like a great day.
