Morning losers!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for your viewing pleasure

Four weeks to go!
Short but sweet OP today, as I have to go off to work early.
Hope everyone has a good week.

OP posts:
Doshusallie · 09/11/2012 21:22

Kedgeree sounds lusg am going to make that, and the buttered chicken from IPD, next week. Have been really lazy cooking this week, must try harder.

Bought tickets for the school bonfire night tonight and none of us could be arsed to go!! What lazies we are. Will write off money as a school donation.

Tea was chicken curry. Bless dh he made a version for himself with chickpeas and tomatoes, and one for me with veg.

SingingTunelessly · 09/11/2012 21:36

wine enjoy Friday off the wine. . < Hic>

BIWI would just say that A&C do cut the fat off their meat. Don't expect too much by way of a 'yummy' moment ime.

DH wanted takeaway curry tonight. I didn't so had pizza. I am so going to pay the price aren't I but it was gooooood. Grin

newstart. So glad that you are doing well. I am sending you a BIG HUG. Smile

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/11/2012 22:17

Oh BIWI, you should have said and I could have said that I introduced you to them - I use them to and love my veg box! DD thinks it is like getting a present every Thursday when we open it...

Piffle · 09/11/2012 22:59

Abel and Cole here too :)
Lovely surprises every Monday :)
BIWI I had a funny turn yesterday, massive tummy ache, hot and cold and dizzy. Not the runs but just weird.
Hope you're better.

Am envious of the drinkers, I'm 28 days dry :) which for me is kind of epic.

The IPD butter chicken is lush. I prefer using thigh fillets as breast can dry out.
I also have a korma recipe although it uses yoghurt I use total Greek and just love it :)

Have a nice weekend everyone!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 10/11/2012 02:11

Back from the first of my nights out and can't sleep so thought I would update on the damage now... Since lunchtime I've had:

Cappuccino (full fat milk)
Smoked chicken salad - poncey gastropub so a few strips on a slate, water.
Snack of ham and cheese that I brought along
Second snack very late of sunflower and pumpkin seeds (only thing I could find on way back that remotely resembled passable option), water.
Just had some cucumber, a couple of strawberries, and chamomile tea

No Wine though, in my defence. God I hate the pmt/period munchies. For 2/3 days I just never feel full, and just want to keep eating constantly. Bloody hormones.

butterflies well done you!!
2am, time for bed. Have a great weekend y'all.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 10/11/2012 08:35

Morning all. I managed to avoid all the popcorn and chocolate being munched at last nights family film night (every Friday night is treat night in this house), in fact I didn't just avoid it I didn't WANT any. What has happened to me, I've never gone without chocolate this long in my life.
Fireworks tonight and a takeaway curry (friends coming over) so might have some rice but that's it hopefully.
I seem to have lost my lifelong sweet tooth and it's great. Sausages (black farmer of course) and bacon for B.
I really think I will finish bootcamp and keep going afterwards too. Weight loss has slowed right down but even though I've still got 1/2 stone to lose, it's not just about weight anymore.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 10/11/2012 08:55

Just been reading another thread and wondering if anyone had any experience of this WOE combined with intermittent fasting for 1 or 2 days a week.
Obviously I'm the only person here who's been up since 5.30 with non sleeping DC and I clearly have too much time to ponder.

WineGless · 10/11/2012 08:58

Morning Lavender, mine used to get up at that time too and was 6.30 this morning. When did it be acceptable to think 6.30 was a lie in!

Could you make your own cauliflower rice to have with the curry? That's what I'm doing tonight and will skip the naan bread. It's really easy to make and if you throw a bit of turmeric in its even tastier

WineGless · 10/11/2012 09:00

I think vnmum and BIWI and few others tried the IF method. The trouble with that if I remember right is that you are supposed to have less than 500 calories per day on your fasting day. One of the great things about this WOE is that you don't have to count any calories. Once you are in ketosis you can go longer between meals and perhaps only eat when you are hungry?

WineGless · 10/11/2012 09:01

Vnmum- meant to reply to your post last night.
Get your feet under the table for a few weeks then get on your soapbox and convert all your new colleagues Wink
Glad to hear you are enjoying it-is it full time?

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 10/11/2012 09:40

Wine - haven't tried cauliflower rice yet as don't have a food processor. Might try and borrow one and have a go.
I'm not sure if I'm even in ketosis most of the time. Every now and again a try a ketostix but it rarely changes colour. Was hoping this was because I had adapted but maybe not. When I first started I was really thirsty first thing and rarely got hungry but now I drink water out of habit rather than because I need to and I do get peckish in the day. Have only intentionally eaten a high carb meal twice so it's not that but I think I probably have too much cream/cheese most days and do tend to eat a big plate of veggies (in a cheeses sauce) with my dinner most days. I would happily eat them with a nice gravy but haven't found one that doesn't have too many carbs.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 10/11/2012 09:43

When I've tried IF in the past I have found it easier not to eat at all for a whole day and just had a few cups of tea. This was ok for me but DH used to start worrying about eating disorders etc. He's still convinced I am not getting enough vitamins etc as not eating fruit even though I'm eating at least 6 portions of veg a day which I think is better.

WineGless · 10/11/2012 09:58

Just use a cheese grater to grate your cauli. Bit messier but less washing up!

Doshusallie · 10/11/2012 14:52

So this kedgeree - have bought the fish - it says for it to be poached....how do you do that then?

NotAgainAndAgain · 10/11/2012 15:23

may I ask an unrelated question? When to expect the bridesmaid dress to turn up? On the night before the wedding or sometime before? The new DIL is not very forthcoming, every time i touch the subject, I feel i am treading on eggshells. We have seen the dress. My conundrum is what to wear over it. Am I free to choose?

NotAgainAndAgain · 10/11/2012 15:25

my DD is the bridesmaid, she is 9.

Doshusallie · 10/11/2012 15:37

Better check with bride re what to wear over it, colour wise etc. IME you get the dress a day or two before.

Lunch was bacon fried with onion and courgette and two fried eggs.

Dss had the same, but they had a home made knicker blocker glory for afters - layered banana, pineapple, yoghurt and the chocolate ganache leftover from last weekend's cup cake making. All in a tall glass, they love it when I do that. Grin

NotAgainAndAgain · 10/11/2012 15:46

thank you doshu!

Doshusallie · 10/11/2012 15:47

De rien!! Grin

vnmum · 10/11/2012 17:23

Wine I already scared one of the girls by quoting the aspartame study and told her that her squash will give her cancer, lol. Yes work is full time. I was working set shifts this week but will go onto the normal shift pattern next week so hopefully will have time to get some workouts in. I have found it surprisingly tiring though.

Today I had a lie in then had to go food shopping (the joys of full time work, means I have to battle with everyone else on a saturday), then did the housework while DH did the garden with the DC help. IDeally I wanted to have weekends as quality family time but seen as I am not getting the chance to do things during the week it hasn't worked out that way, although everything except the uniform ironing is done so hopefully we can have a family day tomorrow.

LAvenders I did try the IF and found the actual fasting easy on this woe because you just don't get that hungry but I felt it didn't make a massive difference to my weight loss. I now skip breakfast once or twice a week so effectively do an 18 hour complete fast (except cups of tea) when I am going to work out so that I can workout fasted. I was skipping breakfast everyday but found my weight loss started to stall when I did. I did read an article on Marks Daily Apple about IF for women and how some women find it doesn't work as well for them.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 10/11/2012 17:25

Ladies, any advice on the best options to order at an Indian restaurant tonight? (Sorry for being last minute, my usual org skills)

Obv won't have the rice or naans, am thinking something tandoori is best? And I know I can have spinach as a side. But any other tips or advice gratefully received. Am going to feed DS, have a bath, then check back after that. TIA.

NotAgainAndAgain · 10/11/2012 17:30

you have a will power Doshu - to make k-b glory and not to have it - my hat off!

WineGless · 10/11/2012 17:41

Toomuchmonth - try having tandoori mixed grill or sag curry. Saag is spinach. Stay away from aloo which is potatoes. Some recommend onion bhaji as a side but here that is battered and fried I
Onio so not lc

Doshusallie · 10/11/2012 18:08

I usually have a balti or tandoori something- cauliflower Bhaji/mushroom bhaji spinach and cheese (paneer)

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/11/2012 19:06

dosh to poach fish - what fish is it? Usually you just put it in some milk bring to boil and simmer gently for a bit - sometimes with omion, cloves etc in the milk. Often when you strain it you then keep the milk (strained also so no onion or cloves etc) and use this for a sauce. Does that make sense?
