Come and weigh in:

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmNIskihgXotdFVPcF9zWUhIal9BbTl5SnlTM3BlWVE#gid=0

Glad to see the losses so far!

I'm taking my weight as of last Friday, as I know that my weekend will have affected things. Yesterday wasn't too bad a day, although we went out for a Thai meal and even though I made the best choices I could, some of the food was definitely too sweet.

Now that I've got this weekend out of the way, it's back to it.

There's also a very interesting article for you to read, about leptin, the hormone that controls hunger:

I have had a stinking cold for a week now and have taken various medications in order to keep going. I certainly enjoy my food, am eating really well.

Perhaps it is just my clothes and shoes! I am certainly rather puffy looking around the face. I know I get water retention when I am ill.

I WILL keep going, maybe I am nearly the weight I should be rather than the weight I want to be. I have quite a sturdy frame and massive boobs.

I noticed an immediate effect when I gave up dairy, no bloating/swollen stomach, and a loss of weight (although I don't know that for sure, I am pretty sure). I felt better without the dairy too.

tartiflette · 29/10/2012 21:00

Oh Humph I would allow half a stone for shoes, clothes plus what you had eaten and drunk.. Can you weigh yourself tomorrow morning to set your mind at ease or do you really not want to?

Piffle · 29/10/2012 21:00

May I join please, I am on my 3rd week of the Neris and India thingy.
Adhered pretty strictly first 13 days undone yesterday while DD in hospital but scales still going the right way :)
I am 3 kgs into an 11 kg total so 8 to go...

HumphreyCobbler · 29/10/2012 21:21

I don't have the scales any more Blush

thanks for the words of encouragement though. I think the fact I have stuck to this diet for so long speaks volumes about how good it is as a WOE. If I had not found low carbing I would have probably alternated starvation/binge during this time. Instead my weight has AT LEAST remained constant and more than probably I have lost weight.

Viperidae · 29/10/2012 21:23

In one of my "find something to do" moments today I had a look at a SW book as, this time last year, I went there for a while. Oddly enough I started at the same weight as I started bootcamp at (although not as high as when I first began low-carbing) and I am now only 5lb above the lowest weight I reached. It took a lot longer and was a lot more difficult their way!

BIWIs slow cooker pork in coconut milk was divine! Had it just with cauli and broccoli and it was quite filling too.

Managed to Skype DS earlier so am feeling a bit better but still very nervous. Keep praying please everybody!

Itwillendinsmiles · 29/10/2012 21:36

Humph, please don't be disheartened!

I'm a similar weights to you and I sometimes weigh myself at night before bed, still dressed and with slippers on and it's usually about 9 7 or 9 8... but in the morning, naked after a wee I'm consistently 9 3 or 9 2!

HumphreyCobbler · 29/10/2012 21:42

That is very encouraging, thank you!

Doshusallie · 29/10/2012 22:32

Humph - if I weighed at 4pm with clothes on I would be at least 5 pounds heavier than my my morning post poo pre breakfast/water/anything weight - fact. Do not do it to yourself.

Day 1 of Butlins: splash world, soft play, arcades, Guinness book of world records show, disco.....am bloody knackered and more than a bit pissed. Hotel is fab - bf and I have interconnecting rooms. Double room, separate bunk bed room for the boys with individual tvs and DVDs [hshock] and big bathroom each. Lush. I am in my bed with radio playing ds1 is watching doctor Doolittle, ds2 is watching a halloween movie I bought him. Problem is I will be asleep before them. Praying they have a bit of a lie in.

Food wise - lunch was 2 sausages and a pkt of pork scratchings.

Tea was a bit of a hotch potch of cabbage, salad, coleslaw, ham and turkey slices, green beans in the canteen. andaglassofredandatleast4g&ts

Night all. Xx

WineGless · 29/10/2012 22:43

Humph, weighing should only be done as soon as you get up, having done a poo!forget it and weigh yourself. If your clothes feel fine that's more of an indicator.
viper, glad you have spoken to DS fingers crossed for him.

Had a horrendous day food wise. Went to a farm shop thing which only did bread rolls or baked potatoes, not a salad in sight.
Mum brought fish Nd chips back with her for tea.
What do you say? I picked the fish to and didn't eat the batter.

Feckity feck.

A, totally embarrassed to say but I have been nominated for Mn Xmas appeal. I can only think its Bootcamp as the only thread I go on and to whoever nominated me thankyou so much. I don't feel as if I deserve anything at all but it made me shed a wee tear that someone even knows who i am on here.

I visited Fiona's grave today which was emotional especially as had DC with me who didn't understand. They were asking all sorts of questions and I just wanted t bawl but kept it together.

Onwarspds and downwards

BigBroomstickBIWI · 29/10/2012 22:46

Aw - that's lovely that you have been nominated, Wine!

OP posts:
WineGless · 29/10/2012 22:53

I know, but I really really don't know why. I think someone must have been at the wine and out the wrong name in!

halfthesize · 29/10/2012 23:19

wine I think its great you have been nominated, well doneSmile

NewStartSameStory · 29/10/2012 23:39

You must have done something wine HQ don't send out you have been nominated emails for nothingness. Thus you will deserve it. You too Biwi.

Vip - hope things stay good for ds. The reports I am currently getting from friends in Washington are positive.

A predictably bad day. but minor cheating. some total of food today: low carb sausages, plastic cheese and alpro yoghurt. Distinctly lacking in veg and need to rectify it tomo. Thankfully it is a training day and thus by the time I get to tackle normal life hopefully I will have de-stressed a bit. if lucky without causing injury to myself

jan2013 · 30/10/2012 07:19

wine you are a lovely person and deserve it congratulations! i hope you have a better day today.

i also got a nominee and think someone else should have got it, im embarrassed to have got one... lol feel completely inadequate. this morning im going to meet 2 friends i haven't seen in ages, one has just split with her bf, so i think it will be a case of falling off the plan - maybe eating a bun or something. as long as i get straight back to it after. im at their house so there isn't much i can do.

WillieWaggledagger · 30/10/2012 07:57

butterfly i would have archived you if there were two weeks without weigh-ins (nothing personal, it just messes up the averages), but have reinstated you now and put in a weight of 140 for this week

Brasssection · 30/10/2012 07:58

Thanks BIWI. You do deserve the nomination, you really do.

The only meds I take is the mini pill. Don't think I eat citric acid.

I think it's a combination of shred and diet. But, I have been quite gentle with shred. I only do 4 or 5 days and only level one. I thought that would be best while I introduced this WOE. Doing shred last time gave the best results I had ever seen really quickly and I want to build exercise into my life permanently. I know diet is more important for weight loss, but having had depression in the past, it's really important for me to maintain mental well being and exercise really does help.

I had a pretty normal boot camp diet yesterday but with porridge and some peas in my dinner. Felt very thirsty all day and very hungry in the evening. Weirdly, look to be still in ketosis.

Hope everyone has a great day.

MrsHerculePoirot · 30/10/2012 08:13

Brass I read that as you had dinner with porridge and peas added in to it....!!

Brasssection · 30/10/2012 08:20

Good god, no!

BigBroomstickBIWI · 30/10/2012 08:56

I absolutely get the psychological need for exercise - I feel fab (albeit very stiff and knackered!) after a session with my trainer.

I just wonder if it's worth you trying low carbing for, say 3 or 4 days, without any exercise, and just see what happens? Then you'll know if low carb is or isn't for you.

Feeling hungry when you've introduced a high level of carbs isn't great ...

I forgot to weigh before breakfast. This is because I was trying to get the dog to take a tablet at 6.30 this morning. She proved herself able to detect a small tablet even when it was heavily coated with Marmite, hidden in a piece of chicken and finally smothered in mayonnaise. Remarkable.

Will weigh in tomorrow.

Congrats to all the losers and congrats to those who haven't lost but are getting their heads down and losing for next week. Go all of us!

Livelongandprosper · 30/10/2012 09:26

BIWI Congratulations on your nomination, well deserved. You are our leader and you put a lot of time and effort into supporting us.

Now I need to ask a question - how often do you exercise? I have observed over the previous two weeks on holiday that all parts of me appear to be wobblier than before. I need to exercise but have not much idea of how often or what to do.

FatOnTheInside · 30/10/2012 09:38

What exactly is this shred that you all do? please don't say I have to do it too

BigBroomstickBIWI · 30/10/2012 09:40

Livelong - I go to the gym twice a week for an hour with my young man personal trainer. In an ideal world, I also go at least once more on my own. Sometimes I manage this, sometimes I don't.

OP posts:
caramelwaffle · 30/10/2012 09:56

Good morning.

Breakfast - boiled egg with mayonnaise.

Congratulations on all your nominations.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 30/10/2012 10:05

In terms of what to do, it varies from session to session, which is one of the great advantages of having a trainer.

Today I did:

10 minutes on the treadmill (always do this to warm up); speed 5.5, incline starting at 11 and rising to 15
2000m on the rowing machine, which took just over 10.5 minutes
Circuits on the TRX kit (pull-ups, push ups, lunges, jump squats, suspended plank - this took a good 20 minutes)
6 minutes to finish on the treadmill; incline 16, speed 6.2 rising to 6.4 (walking)
