Come and weigh in:

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmNIskihgXotdFVPcF9zWUhIal9BbTl5SnlTM3BlWVE#gid=0

Glad to see the losses so far!

I'm taking my weight as of last Friday, as I know that my weekend will have affected things. Yesterday wasn't too bad a day, although we went out for a Thai meal and even though I made the best choices I could, some of the food was definitely too sweet.

Now that I've got this weekend out of the way, it's back to it.

There's also a very interesting article for you to read, about leptin, the hormone that controls hunger:

I had a really good day food-wise. Had bacon, egg and sausage for breakfast, salmon salad for lunch and chicken with creamed leeks for tea.

Unfortunately I have just sat and eaten a whole bag of sugarfree toffees and now feel sick. At least I know I won't be constipated tomorrow!

MrsHerculePoirot · 02/11/2012 23:07

Thanks wine, will look now!

tartiflette · 03/11/2012 06:39

Urgh.
Have been terrible this week food-wise, i dont know what on earth's come over me. Dreading thought of a gain on Monday so will desperately try damage limitation over the weekend, am going to catch up with the thread now so you can all inspire me...

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 03/11/2012 07:20

Well only another pound on so not too bad as had several glasses of wine and quite a carby meal but back where I was nearly 2 weeks ago, which is a bit depressing but on the bright side still nearly a stone down on my starting weight.
Feel ok today considering but not in ketosis (tested) tho haven't felt like I was in ketosis for a while so who knows how important it is. Have already drunk a litre of water and will have eggs and mushrooms for breakfast. Hope to drop a couple of pounds by weigh in on Monday.

Doshusallie · 03/11/2012 08:15

Only a pound on, 9 2, woop, very pleased. Grin

WineGless · 03/11/2012 08:22

Well done you and only a pound on for me. It's a timely reminder for me for this weekend to stick to low carb food and a few vodkas if I want to be anywhere near target for 7th December

Doshusallie · 03/11/2012 09:35

Well done wine. I am pretty happy that I can maintain now.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 03/11/2012 10:07

DS has tipped out his Halloween haul all over the table and is sorting through. He keeps trying to give me the mini sweeties he's not fond of, I am saying thank you and sneaking them back in the bucket when he's not looking Wink

Brasssection · 03/11/2012 10:13

Hi all. What is everyone's view on sweeteners? Are they a no no, even if they're no carb? I've beeny avoiding, but really missing them in coffee.

Have a good weekend everyone.

HumphreyCobbler · 03/11/2012 10:43

I would avoid them like the plague. I have been having one or two a day with coffee until recently. I so wish I hadn't as I am losing more now (judging by clothes as I don't weigh). They definitely has an affect on me. And they are bad for you.

I SO should have followed the rules from the start.

WineGless · 03/11/2012 11:04

The only one which I use if I have to is Truvia which is at least a natural plant extract

jan2013 · 03/11/2012 11:20

i put cinnamon or nutmeg in my coffee and it gives it that kick. i don't like sweeteners anymore now

WineGless · 03/11/2012 11:22

I had diet coke last week just to give it a try and it tasted rank. My kids are desperate to have it as a treat but trying to discourage their way of thinking

BIWI · 03/11/2012 11:41

As someone very wisely said, the rules are there for a reason ... Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 03/11/2012 13:44

thanks for weighing in everyone

biggest losers of the week: debs39 and MrsHerculePoirot
Biggest overall loser: hurricanewyn (a good result for your birthday week!)

jan2013 · 03/11/2012 13:53

ive just had 40 grams of lovely 85% dark chocolate. started with one square...but it helped me finish my essay! :) yumm

there are lovely sardines in olive oil with chilli in tesco, for like 55p. so maybe i can afford this woe after all.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 03/11/2012 15:16

Very well done to this weeks losers!!! Thanks

Hi willie just being nosy, do you do biggest losers by actual number of pounds lost, or by % of body weight lost? Just wondered.

NewStartSameStory · 03/11/2012 15:23

i am feeling proud of myself today got dragged into the sweet and cake aisles of shop last night at stupid o'clock. it's normally my weakest time for self will but i managed to walk out of shop with only the eggs, sausages and alpro cream i went in for.

A lovely lovely lie in sleep through this morning means I feel more human then i have done for a few days. But it was a shock to realise that I have treaty stuff in the house, dairylee triangles and peanuts Shock when did my brain decide they were treaty? Confused

WillieWaggledagger · 03/11/2012 15:33

hmm toomuch i do it by numbers, but that's a good point, i should do % too

Doshusallie · 03/11/2012 15:41

I use sweeteners in tea and coffee. Couldn't drink either without. Doesn't seem to make any difference with me.

Have made some amaze balls Halloween cakes for party tonight, did have a square of dark chocolate but will refrain from anything else. Lunch has been 2 celery sticks with late and cheese, 1 cold boiled egg and a spoon of peanut butter.

butterfliesinmytummy · 03/11/2012 15:57

Uh oh, bad day today. DD1s birthday party and for some reason I had a small piece of cake.... Rally don't know why as I didn't enjoy it much. Just had a glass of white wine at the cinema (we have the best cinemas with reclining seats, bar and food service) but hoping to make up for it tomorrow and post a loss on Monday morning.

Nearly midnight here, off to bed, one more day before weigh in .... May the force be with you Grin

vnmum · 03/11/2012 17:06

Crap week food wise after halloween really. THe scales are not showing a good number at the moment. MY own fault. I really need to get back into exercise. I've not been to the gym in 2 weeks again and when I do think I have time I think it should be better spent revising for work on monday. I have somehow got to try and fit in exercise now while working odd shifts, spending time with DH and the DC and keeping on top of the housework. WElcome to being a full time working mum eh? ANd at this time of year there will be cakes, biscuits and chocolates brought into work by clients. I really don't want to end up gaining but am worried about over stressing my body from doing too much altogether, if that makes sense
I am sure I will find a balance somehow as I am determined not to go backwards.

NotAgainAndAgain · 03/11/2012 17:18

Hm-mm-m. May be there are more than one reason of my timid weight loss?
Is gym generally considered as part of LC-ing? cause I do not do anything physical. May be I should start looking for my lost somewhere membership card?Confused

BIWI · 03/11/2012 17:29

NotAgain - exercise is not a major contributor to weight loss. You can lose without having to do any! That said, it can help. And it can also help psychologically - keeps you focused on your overall aim, IYSWIM.

I have had a really busy social time since Thursday - out with Twitter Friends (and Cod!), then lovely SIL came yesterday (she's off to Australia for a year to be with her daughter who is having twins on 26/11!), so much vino was consumed. And now off to a fireworks party, and staying over with friends. Why on earth I thought this week would be a good one to drop another couple of pounds I have no idea!

As well as wine, there have been a couple of spectacular slip-ups on the food front. On Thursday we met at a Mexican restaurant and everything came in a burrito or a taco or a quesadilla. Then last night we went out for dinner, ended up going to a different restaurant from the one we had planned to go to, as it was fully booked. So ended up being steak and chips. Blush

Anyway. Glossing over that. Have had a lovely afternoon browsing baby clothes for my niece's twins.

Viperidae · 03/11/2012 17:30

Well, as feared, after eating the sugarfree sweets (and at the risk of too much information) I spent some time last night trying to turn myself inside out through my bumhole. The plus point is that I am 2lbs down this morning but I suspect it may not last!
