Come and weigh in:

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmNIskihgXotdFVPcF9zWUhIal9BbTl5SnlTM3BlWVE#gid=0

Glad to see the losses so far!

I'm taking my weight as of last Friday, as I know that my weekend will have affected things. Yesterday wasn't too bad a day, although we went out for a Thai meal and even though I made the best choices I could, some of the food was definitely too sweet.

Now that I've got this weekend out of the way, it's back to it.

There's also a very interesting article for you to read, about leptin, the hormone that controls hunger:

Had to have leek and potato soup for lunch, but am on way home now so back to normal... Out to supper tomorrow night though. So far no cravings and I do think it's because I haven't eaten wheat or sugar particularly, just rice and potato, and while this isn't good it hasn't messed with my insides so badly

Piffle · 01/11/2012 15:28

I had some heady rush moments in my first week... It unsettled me but went away after a few days... I think the fat is really important to keep your brain functioning... I had a couple of lower fat days and felt awful.
Sybil I put everything on myfitnesspal and it really helps focus you....
Anyhow I avoided all temptation yesterday :)
And today have been rewarded with another 1/2lb loss which I'm thrilled about!
Very motivating indeed.
B - bacon and eggs ( I neve tire of this)
L - left over lamb spinach curry from last night om nom nom
D- chicken and salad

halfthesize · 01/11/2012 16:11

horrorcanewyn · 01/11/2012 16:14

Hey all - can anyone advise if a recipe asks for 250g of caster sugar, how much truvia should I use? And if I should replace the bulk that much sugar gives to a cake with something else?

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/11/2012 16:24

You replace volume for volume not weight for weight. I usually weight out the sugar in something, mark the height then measure out the trivia. If you go on their website though I think they have sme conversions... You shouldn't need anything else as it is the same volume, just lighter...

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/11/2012 16:25

conversion here

Poppy1234 · 01/11/2012 16:37

Just a quick post as have had a busy day with workmen and deliveries. Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I am hoping to see a difference in the scales as I was 2.2lbs up last weigh in. Also hoping my massive cheat last Sunday won't have caused an even higher creep on the scales.

B: Small portion of Greek yoghurt and small portion of scrambled egg with ham and parmesan
L: Gigantic bowl of curried cauliflower and coconut soup
D: Salmon tikka kebabs with roast broccoli and green beans

horrorcanewyn · 01/11/2012 17:03

Thanks MrsHP Thanks

Piffle · 01/11/2012 17:11

I use raw ground stevia to sweeten as I do not trust Truvia given it was designed by Coca Cola...

horrorcanewyn · 01/11/2012 17:20

I've got Truvia in now Piffle - normally don't bother with sweeteners but a birthday doesn't feel like a birthday without cake Blush at 32 I should know better

Viperidae · 01/11/2012 17:30

Hi all, Feeling much better here now I am de-stressing although had a major disagreement with someone at work so am not anywhere near chilled. I don't know why I have to deal with morons.

B: 2 eggs scrambled with a little cream, chicken and mushrooms cooked in coconut oil.
L: Wonton soup, chicken, handful of macadamia nuts. Alpro yoghurt, 6 blueberries, 2 strawberries

Tea will be leftovers from the last couple of days

WillieWaggledagger · 01/11/2012 17:53

Happy birthday hurricane!

Ilovemyteddy · 01/11/2012 18:38

Grin at the thought of being pregnant again. I'm 53 with 3 grown- up DC!! The only babies I'm going to be cuddling are my DGC if my kids will ever settle down

Seriously, I can't be pregnant because I had a hysterectomy after DS2.

I'm pretty sure my salt intake is okay. I'm more concerned because this has just started happening even though I've been following this WOE since January. Will haul my ass off to the docs.

halfthesize · 01/11/2012 18:57

Grin @ Ilovemyteddy, I sometimes get dizzy, normally related to my blood pressure always being a tad low x

Happy Birthday hurricaneSmile

Brasssection · 01/11/2012 20:20

Happy birthday hurricane

Doshusallie · 01/11/2012 20:27

Happy birthday hurricane! Thanks

Stuffed after cauliflower cheese, chicken and salad with coleslaw for tea. Suspect cauliflower cheese will have been cooked with flour. Remember gaining weight last year after Butlins despite being good with food but blamed it on hidden high carb ingredients and all the booze, I'm sure it will be the same this year. Don't worry, I will report in and let you know, as I am positive you are all on the edge of your seats waiting to hear hahahaha.

Panto was totally ace. Got pix of the boys watching totally mesmerised, and with hands over the faces at the scary bits, gold gold gold.

Am booking tomorrow for next year, this time with premium dining. It will be the 4th year bf and I have gone away for October half term - first year was a caravan at haven, last year Butlins in a chalet, this year in the new swanky hotel, next year same agin but upping the food quality! Grin. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Would never come with dh, he would hate it (can't queue, won't wait for a table, wouldn't sit and read while boys play in soft play, would get MUCH more stressed with their behaviour and would not give them the independence I do). Just works so well when bf and i do it sans other halfs.

WineGless · 01/11/2012 20:45

Evening all

Happy birthday hurricane hope you are being spoiled rotten

I met up with the lovely toomuchmonth today - hope I haven't frightened her off with my two horrors! We had just an hour catching up but she is fab and hoping we meet up again. No wine and no cakes so we can pat ourselves on the back

Met my friend for lunch and had cream of veg soup which was the only option

Just been out for tea with parents and has Parma ham wrapped round rump steak with rocket and Parmesan salad which was yum and lots of red wine

Back home tomorrow Sad

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 01/11/2012 22:15

Hi all,

Well I had my first ever real life meetup with a (known) MNer today. winegless is truly luffly as are her gorgeous kids. I headed back with a spring in my step!

B alpro yoghurt, slice of ham with Philly
L mushrooms, leeks and spinach fried in butter with creme fraiche stirred in
D 2 boiled eggs mashed with butter and pepper

I made Ds toast tonight and it smelled soooo good so I had a nibble of a crust ... But it tasted thick and weird, like my mouth was full of cotton. So I gave the rest to the (very happy) dog.

Am a bit peckish now so I might have a little tuna in a lettuce wrap or something. Not much left in the house, Lidl raid overdue!

happy birthday hurricane

dosh sounds great. I need a holiday!! Or at least to think about planning one, to get through this winter!

vnmum · 01/11/2012 22:36

Happy birthday hurricane

jan i personally would fast tomorrow till lunch or evening to get the glycogen stores used up, or do some exercise, running, biking? With a carb binge like that it will be glycogen that you have put on not fat, usually about 2 to 3 pounds depending. If i have had something similar, a fast normally has me right the next day or at the latest the day after that.

NewStartSameStory · 02/11/2012 02:08

I am not having a good week. All things considering it has not been bad on the diet front. 2 off meals due to circumstances beyond control and planning, and when I fell yesterday it was into a bag of peanuts and not into a whole heap of sugary stuff.

Weight wise that article confirms that i will not lose any weight atm. Too much stress, far too much stress going on. Too much inflamation too. But as long as I hope to lose and focus on the positive. ie the fact that my perspective is slowly changing, I am feeling healthier etc then that is the most beneficial aspect of it all. I suspect I will stay the same weight yet again.

I have read through but I am too far dosed up on pain killers and too tired to remember anything that I have read. I appologise for that.

Wishing a good weekend for all.

jan2013 · 02/11/2012 07:30

aww thats great that you guys could meet up! how lovely. vnmum thanks so much for the advice.. i felt really anxious yesterday and awful all day... it does something to me emotionally as well as physcially when i feel im not in control of what i eat... i have had yoghurt and berries before i got your post, but i am going to do some skipping while dd is in her highchair today, and will try fasting until dinner, hopefully it will put things right.

newstart im sorry you are so stressed at the minute, im glad you are feeling healthier and for the minute that is the main thing and hopefully the weight loss wil follow in time... i hope the rest of the week gets better for you

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 02/11/2012 08:07

Aaagh another 3/4 of a pound on this morning, wtf is going on? I haven't cheated once though I am out with friends tonight and will have a glass of wine. Have just realised though that haven't had a good poo for about 4 days - is it possible this is what's making me gain???? TOM also due any day but last month no gain at all so not sure what's going on.
B - just bacon and mushrooms as have eaten everything else. Need to do a shop today.
Still drinking at least 2.5 litres of water a day plus tea so not that.

NewStartSameStory · 02/11/2012 09:19

I have respite this weekend. It's much needed.

Lavender - I would say that the no poo thing is a possible cause for it.

Right rejigged work stuff so having a day off and going back to bed. Will do the work tomo instead.

sybilfaulty · 02/11/2012 09:21

Lavender, this diet does not produce linear weightloss. I have suddenly lost 4lbs after weeks of no loss without doingn anything different. I expect your poo is causing a few ounces as well. Plenty of water and some coffee might sort that out.

Off out for breakfast with kids as no milk here. Hope they are better behaved than yesterday. Have a good day everyone.

MrsHerculePoirot · 02/11/2012 09:31

Am very Envy of the mini-meet up!

Newstart a day in bed sounds fab - get a good rest and lose some of that stress.

Lavender, I weigh every day and my weight fluctuates massively in any given week. This week from Monday I have gone between staying ther same to going up by 3 lbs. If you just looked at my weight every Monday though you would only see it going down over time...

Jan - know what you mean about the emotional impact when not in control. Enjoy your skipping....
