The Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - starting in 2 week's time!

BIWI · 16/09/2012 21:43

Following on from the success of Bootcamp v1, where we lost in the region of 70 stone between us, we will be running a 10 week v2 Bootcamp, starting on Monday 1 October.

This is designed to take us up to the end of the first week in December, by which time you should have lost at least half a stone - and that's being pessimistic. There's every chance you could lose more than a stone over that period of time! Plenty of time to make sure that you can get into that Little Black Dress without the lumps and bumps showing too much.

This is how it will work:

The first two weeks will be very strict. I will shout at you a lot and will wave my big stick around with gay abandon. After this period, you can then relax into Bootcamp Light or, if it suits you, stick with Bootcamp for the remaining 8 weeks.

We have a Spreadsheet of Marvellousness, which will be upated each week, so that you can plot your progress.

There are 10 simple rules here , and it's really easy to do. No weighing or counting (unless you really want to). And above all, lots of support from all those who are doing it alongside you.

Who is up for it?

Aroomofherown - I tend to think if you are having to check the label, it probably isn't something you want to have a lot of!

aroomofherown · 29/09/2012 16:36

Yes MrsHerculePoirot I agree - just thinking worcestershire sauce (for my creamy mushroom sauce), but more importantly, I'm hoping I can have a glass of almond milk...it's only 3g carbs?! Is that ok BIWI? or should I have just a small glass?

PrincessSparkle86 · 29/09/2012 17:43

Evening all

I also like the sound of nigellas meatza... Im obsessed with nigella actually lol! Shame really because all her foods are so lush but all her cakes etc are packed with everything naughty!

Thanks for the support on DP he hasnt said much today other than telling me to put the small bottle of coke down which i picked up today Blush
I do feel rubbish anyway but i thinknits because my weight has been fluctuting the same 2lbs forever now but i know thats because i havent been sticking to the diet properly! But as of monday i have extra motivation cos bootcamp starts and ill be longging EVERY single thing i eat!!

B was fried egg and mushroom with 2 steeaky bacon and 1 sausage
L was out with family and sandwiches were made... So i had 2 slices of brown seeded loaf with ham and salad cream Sad
D will be 2 chicken thighs with shredded salami and a salad of little gem, pickled red cabbage, cucumber, parmesan, an some grated carrot!

MrsHerculePoirot · 29/09/2012 18:04

aroomofherown - I use a little splash of worcestshire sauce here and there in sauces as I love it! Almond milk I am not so sure about - is it 3g of carbs per glass or per 100g? I think ideally it would be a no, but am sure BIWI will be along to clarify shortly!!!

princess - how much do you need/want to lose in the lbd bootcamp? your dinner sounds yummy!

PrincessSparkle86 · 29/09/2012 19:07

Mrs HP id like to lose say 3 kilos and anything extras a bonus... Id like to lose 2?stone!!

Jacaqueen · 29/09/2012 19:27

Just had a lovely dinner.

It was smoked haddock with a Davistow cheddar and chive sauce from the Saucy Fish Co. Just pop the foil pouch in the oven for 15 mins. Around 3g of carbs due to some cornflour in the sauce. Had it with asparagus and leeks to soak up the lovely sauce.

Having a glass of wine with some Parmesan and chilli nibbles whilst sitting round the chimnea. Great Saturday night so far. I will not be having toasted marshmallow. Definitely not.

aroomofherown · 29/09/2012 20:42

Its 3g per 100ml.

I really hope it's ok because I just bought 3 litres as Sainsbury's had a sale

EwanHoozami · 30/09/2012 09:32

Bootcamp starts tomorrow Grin

Am looking forward to my weigh-in as I've been pretty good. I expected to have an urge to have a pre-BC carbfest blow-out but aside from a bit of dark choc I didn't fancy it in the end.

Does everyone have a target weight? I've got a really solid frame (imagine an out-of condition Serena Williams..) and the lightest I've been in my adult life was 9st 8. And I looked like a malnourished carthorse with bones sticking out all over the place. So maybe I'll eye up the low 10's?

I'm going to try Nigel Slater's mildly spiced beef from last week's Observer today. Looks perfect LC fodder so if it's any good I'll stick up the recipe.

BigStickBIWI · 30/09/2012 10:05

Morning all! Just as well it's Bootcamp tomorrow Blush as last night (at the meet up) not only did I have frites with my dinner, there was also cake ...

WineGless · 30/09/2012 10:10

BIWI we will be hitting you with your own stick!!!

Did you have a good night? Any other LCers there?

We are out for breakfast with DC then taking them swimming later after I revise.

Bootcamp couldn't come at a better time for me - need kick up the arse

BigStickBIWI · 30/09/2012 10:13

Yes, Cointreau was there. Looking very svelte!

clare8allthepies · 30/09/2012 10:26

Hi everyone
I'm menu planning for next week before doing our weekly shop and was thinking of making the meatzza from nigellissima this week. Has anyone made this yet? If so did you replace the breadcrumbs/oats from the recipe with anything or just leave it out?

Thanks, Clare

becstargazeypie · 30/09/2012 10:26

Latecomer, can I join? I'll start following bootcamp rules today but I wont be around much for the first two weeks as visiting in laws (no Internet) from tomorrow and then going on a business trip soon after. So I'll be checking in with you when I get back. I have 1 and a half stone to lose after a summer of not sticking to diet and then lots of stress eating recently... Yesterday I had to utter the dread words in zara changing room 'sorry but could you possibly find me this dress in an extra large?' Blush

WillieWaggledagger · 30/09/2012 11:47

Clare I'm thinking if doing it later this week, and will just leave them out. Tbh I'm not sure how necessary the eggs are because with enough seasoning the mince may well hold together on its own, but will likely use them anyway

NigellasGuest · 30/09/2012 12:21

Nigellissima Meatzza update!

Made it last night - BIG success. Everyone loved it and wanted second helpings. (except ultra-fussy eldest DC, but that's another thread).

dont have her book yet and couldnt remember exact way of making it so did my own version - i think it's pretty easy though. Very good indeed.

I then had a hobnob. But is that really so bad?? Blush

NigellasGuest · 30/09/2012 12:25

ps - Clare8 - i just left out the breadcrumbs altogether as couldn't think of a LC substitute. didn't seem to make any difference.
I made 2 meatzzas in 2 sandwich tins (the kind you use used for victoria sponge) - they shrunk away from the sides of the tins but that didn't matter. They still stayed a nice round shape.
The other thing was that a lot of liquid developed around the edges - possibly because I hadn't strained the plum tomato properly - but it didn't matter, I just poured it out before serving. HTH

clare8allthepies · 30/09/2012 12:33

Thanks! Going to make it for tomorrow nights dinner!

Jacaqueen · 30/09/2012 12:40

I wish I did have toasted marshmallows last night, it might have helped to soak up some of the alcohol. I feel really rough today. I didn't even have that much to drink. Oh well at least giving up alcohol won't be so hard now. I will just remember how bad I feel right now.

I fancy some toast and butter but I will try and resist. Roll on tomorrow.

PrincessSparkle86 · 30/09/2012 12:42

HumphreyCobbler · 30/09/2012 19:03

I am glad bootcamp starts tomorrow and not today.

NigellasGuest · 30/09/2012 20:02

OUch Humphrey! Hope you're ok. And that you didn't have to spend too long waiting around in A&E, I know what it can be like.

WineGless · 30/09/2012 20:04

Humph- sending healing vibes your way. Make sure you take painkillers with you tomorrow. Throbbing finger + school trip= disaster

BigStickBIWI · 30/09/2012 20:10

Oh my word! Hope it's alright now
