The Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - starting in 2 week's time!

BIWI · 16/09/2012 21:43

Following on from the success of Bootcamp v1, where we lost in the region of 70 stone between us, we will be running a 10 week v2 Bootcamp, starting on Monday 1 October.

This is designed to take us up to the end of the first week in December, by which time you should have lost at least half a stone - and that's being pessimistic. There's every chance you could lose more than a stone over that period of time! Plenty of time to make sure that you can get into that Little Black Dress without the lumps and bumps showing too much.

This is how it will work:

The first two weeks will be very strict. I will shout at you a lot and will wave my big stick around with gay abandon. After this period, you can then relax into Bootcamp Light or, if it suits you, stick with Bootcamp for the remaining 8 weeks.

We have a Spreadsheet of Marvellousness, which will be upated each week, so that you can plot your progress.

There are 10 simple rules here , and it's really easy to do. No weighing or counting (unless you really want to). And above all, lots of support from all those who are doing it alongside you.

Who is up for it?

Agree, don't buy it, or clean teeth straight after supper

MsRinky · 27/09/2012 20:31

I have been having the odd sugar free jelly with a few raspberries and cream. Will be knocking it on the head for bootcamp though.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 27/09/2012 23:31

I think I need to do this, am 5'8" and I think I currently weigh around 12 stone, I've put on a stone in a year and being now 43, I really want to stop this before it gets any worse. Would love to be around 10 and a half stone again as I was Pre DC but realistically anything under 11 would be great.

Have never low carbed before (never really strictly dieted before tbh, have done a few months of being "healthy" and cutting out obvious junk several times when clothes getting tight but never followed a strict plan as such) so all support gratefully received. Is the stick bashing optional biwi ?! Wink

BIWI · 27/09/2012 23:32

Oh no, toomuch. The big stick bashes all and everyone, on a regular basis!

Ok

Willowisp · 28/09/2012 08:30

morning...I've deviated slightly, although I know we haven't started officially yet. It's not sweet craving, or any cravings, but a sort of need for wet, succulent food...

Had guava (tin suggests low carb) & 14 raspberries for brekkie. Think my bowel 'situation' might be linked with magnesium, so taking that as a supplement.

Juicy low carb food suggestion gratefully received !

BIWI · 28/09/2012 08:37

What does the tin say, Willow? I can't believe guava would be low carb - and was it in syrup or juice?

If you want juicy low carb food, how about salad stuff in dressing? Lettuce and cucumber are perfect.

Can I go on The List please

Willowisp · 28/09/2012 09:31

Please Miss...I got it wrong....16.3g per 100...I read it as 0.4 (the protein) Still, just had a brisk walk...

Willowisp · 28/09/2012 09:32

yeah...lettuce/cucumber not cutting it....although I am eating them..

BigStickBIWI · 28/09/2012 09:40

All part of the learning curve! What is it that you're craving? It's most likely the sweetness, which is all part of low carbing - we're aiming to break the strangle-hold that sugar has over us.

Pufflemum · 28/09/2012 09:46

Hello, can I join please? I turn 40 just after Christmas and have a break to NY planned with DH, our first time away without the DC. I would love to loose a stone beforehand. I've just started at the gym and have been doing body attack and body pump weekly as well as running at least once a week, but I just can't ditch the sweet stuff. Hopefully your stick will beat it out of me!

BigStickBIWI · 28/09/2012 10:45

Oh yes! Grin

And welcome.

PrincessSparkle86 · 28/09/2012 11:24

Wow theres so many newbies now... Weve got a nice little network going on here Grin

frumpet · 28/09/2012 12:30

Count me in , i am the heaviest i have ever been , including when pregnant . I get out of breath just walking up the stairs and my knees have started to complain , plus i am too fat to ride the horse that costs me a small fortune to keep !
Ideally i would like to lose 5 stone Smile

Whats the IPD cook book ?

halfthesize · 28/09/2012 13:46

Loving the name change BIWI

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 28/09/2012 13:50

I'm in please, have been doing this for a week now and lost 7lbs already which is great.
Am supposed to be going out for an Indian tonight but no idea what's ok to eat (rice and naan obviously not).
Would a chicken tikka masala be ok or a korma? And what on earth would I have with it. Normally have rice, naan, onion bhajees and meat samosa so am really stuck (no wonder I'm overweight though looking at that).
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

BigStickBIWI · 28/09/2012 13:52

Best thing is something tikka or tandoori - with low carb veg side dishes such as cauliflower bhaji, spinach bhaji or mushroom bhaji

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 28/09/2012 14:18

Thanks, was afraid you'd say that. It's a shame, I do love the cream sauces but I suppose without knowing if they use flour etc in them it's safer not to.
Never tried any of the other bhajees so maybe will try the mushroom one. Oh well, my thighs will thank me I guess even though my stomach won't!

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 28/09/2012 14:19

Sorry bhaji not bhajee.

BigStickBIWI · 28/09/2012 14:54

Korma is often sweetened as well so not a safe option

Willowisp · 28/09/2012 16:50

Sorry for late reply, been out all day.

Surprisingly not craving sweet stuff, only wet food, so satsumas, nectarines, cherry toms. I may even fancy a grapefruit !

Have a bag of berries in the freezer, but they're not hitting the stop.

Treated myself to pt of Robinsins select squash today.....

BigStickBIWI · 28/09/2012 16:51

But those things are all sweet!

Willowisp · 28/09/2012 17:01

ok Blush

I fear for next week !

Sweet to me is chocolate..dark choc.choc pudding...choc cake..brownies...rocky road..

Good job I have willpower..

teaandthorazine · 28/09/2012 17:23

Lavender - the thing I found most amazing about low-carb (well, one of the many things tbh!) was how much nicer stuff like Indian food is when you ditch the carby fillers. Honest!
