New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

DH bought a millionaire's cheesecake in Tesco (serves me right for letting him go alone, but I was helping at youth club)
I have spent the morning building the den floor, and the afternoon walking in the woods, so I feel I have earned a small slice (even that is 405 cals!)
We'll see how Monday faresBlush.

MrsPnut · 21/10/2012 08:16

Morning, I am plodding along and somehow managed to lose a pound last week. We have rugby this morning and then a huge sunday lunch to look forward to with perhaps a walk or bike ride afterwards.

TheOneWithTheHair · 21/10/2012 08:37

Morning. Dd's party was a success and she loved her cake. I did have a glass of wine last night but I think I deserved it. Girls are soooo noisy!

MilkshakeMaker · 22/10/2012 06:45

Hello again everyone! This thread has gone rather quiet! I've been really busy the last couple of weeks so haven't been able to get on here, I have however been doing really well and have weighed 11st5 for last few days so a loss of 6lb since I was last on here!

Good luck for everyone weighing today...

InMySpareTime · 22/10/2012 07:44

It's the first Monday for about 4.5 years where I'm not at work or looking after my own DCs!
I will instead have a sewing and reading day, I'll still go out on my bike for a bit, but being away from the constant food at nursery will be greatSmile.
I did loads on the den this weekend, there's just the front door, a bit of the front wall, gutters and 1/3 of the floor left to do.
I'll post pics later (when I'm on the big computer), no more den work today though.

reastie · 22/10/2012 07:49

Hi all

Well done on the losses - milkshake 6lbs is fab

Hair glad DD liked her cake who wouldn't!

IMST how is that den going?

Weighed myself this morning and was 1.5 lbs less than the last 3 days Shock - maybe it's down to the shred I did yesterday Wink . Have counted yesterdays weigh in as my weekly weigh in as I don't trust todays one Wink . Having issues here with the super gentle herbal iron supplement giving me a dodgy tum Confused so feeling very 'full' and bloated

reastie · 22/10/2012 07:50

xposted IMST the den sounds huge requiring it's own guttering etc! Looking forward to piccies. Enjoy your day Envy

marriedinwhite · 22/10/2012 07:57

Ooh I'm glad to see this again. I have done well since June - down 17lb but have stalled miserably in the last four weeks or so.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 08:15

Morning. I am dreading weigh in again. I'm going to do it after the school run.

Welcome back Milkskake and Married you've both done really well.

reastie weigh again later and see what it says. If its still down, claim it! You are doing really well.

IMST are the dcs having a den warming party and can I be invited please?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 08:20

hi everyone
You all seem to be doing so well :) I am losing interest again, back on the diet today - MM - but need a kick up the bum :) Hopefully I'll be able to stick to it this time.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 08:21

good luck Hair :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 09:50

2lbs on. :(

I really need to sort my head out. There are 9 weeks until Christmas which means I really only have 8 weeks left. If I can lose 2lb a week until then I'll be nearly at the 11st mark.

I'm just struggling with will power. If I start to see some loss then I think it will spur me on. I just need to try and put in a big effort this week.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 09:51
SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 09:53

That us exactly how I feel. Nothing is more motivating than progress but its hard to just get started and see progress in the first place!
Have you meal planned for this week?

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 10:28

Not as such. It's all in my head. I just have fallen back into the chocolate and wine habit. I know what to do I just can't be arsed to do it. I feel down because I'm fat and I eat because I'm down. I just need to get the motivation to rein it in for a week.

Do you meal plan?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 10:32

Yes, I do find it really helps. But I feel exactly the same - you slip back into bad habits, then you put on a bit of weight and lose control. Then there's no motivation to restart.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 10:49

Well I shall try my best this week and see if I do any better. I will let everyone know how I get on but if I take a break from the thread it's because I don't want to pull anyone down.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 10:53

That's what the threa is for, support and motivation.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 11:03

I know you're right. It's just everyone's so successful. :)

You've been brilliant this morning and I hope you get your mojo back too.

InMySpareTime · 22/10/2012 12:06

Just weighed in, another lb off, I'm at 11st 9lb, more importantly my BMI is now (just) under 32. Another 9lb to go before Christmas and I won't be obese any more.
Hair get back on it, think how much better you look and feel already, it's not a competition, you are losing weight for you. We will help you if you need us to though
It isn't easy, but nothing that's really worthwhile is easy, part of the reward is knowing you worked hard for it.

reastie · 22/10/2012 12:30

Well, hoping this bit of good news might spur on hair and stealth . I went shopping in debenhams for jeans today. I tried on a pair of size 18s back in August/September and they were just a bit too tight to buy. Went back to try them again and they are now too big for me Grin so I came out with 2 pairs of size 16 jeans. This is incredible for me - this time last year I was in size 22 jeans and in June I was in size 20 - it feels like finally my weight loss is actually showing a bit! fails to mention the fat tummy muffin top that the jeans give . They fit really well in the legs but a bit tight in the tummy, but I'm hoping another few weeks and they will be a good fit.

Btw hair just weighed again and it was still 1lbs lighter so have altered my spreadsheet weight Grin

Honestly, I keep having to tell myself over and over 'this is a marathon' - I'm in this for the long haul. It feels like I'll never get where I want to be but I can but try. stealth and hair if you feel down about it could you give yourself 2 weeks of trying really hard and forcing yourself to do exercise/eat well? If you just give yourself 2 weeks there's not too much pressure on how much you feel you need to do and you can be more relaxed after that time, but the difference you might feel in that time might spur you on to try more IYKWIM. I don't want this to sound patronising btw, really hope it doesn't come across like that. It's a shame we don't all live near each other as we could motivate each other in RL too.

InMySpareTime · 22/10/2012 12:47

I live near Hair and am happy to help motivate any time.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 12:55

Hair I was just being whiney and defeatist :o IMST makes a good point. We can get to Christmas knowing we could have done it but didn't, or we can get to Christmas knowing we tried really hard and we did it!

Reastie that's fantastic and exactly the sort of thing I mean where progress leads to motivation. I predict that in a few months time you'll be saying almost exactly the same think - but the sizes will be 12 and 10.

IMST, well done. By Christmas you will not be obese.

My target was almost 11st by end of this month. That's not going to happen so I'll shift it a month. 11st by end of Nov. Or I quit for good!!
