New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

oh, been meaning to ask the MFP people - how do you share yuor food diary at the end of the day? If I knew I had to do that it might help cut down the snacking

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 13:06

I mean technically btw. I can do the "complete this entry" but how do I get it as a link on the home page so others can see and sneer at my chocolate eating habits?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 13:08

Depressingly I have just spent 60 calories on carrots. They were lovely, but still just carrots. I could have had 2 squares of chocolate instead.

reastie · 22/10/2012 13:15

I thought it came up automatically on other peoples homepage once you clicked 'complete entry' shealth Hmm ...I'll check you now...

reastie · 22/10/2012 13:18

Shealth?! I mean stealth! Just checked and you're right I can't see your food diary but not sure why sorry. I'm sure someone else can give more help though.

May have been too optimistic on the size 16 jeans - they are very hard to sit down in Hmm

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 13:26

I hven't completed for ages. I'll complete yesterdays, where no doubt I'd be 8st3 in 5 weeks (as I didn't log any food) - will you have a look then?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 13:28

this time next week they'll be slipping off. You'd be stupid to get 18s and you're never really going to fit into them again. 16s were definitely the right choice.

Right, completed yesterdays. If I don't eat a thing for the next 5 weeks I will still be this side of 10 stone, how depressing :o

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/10/2012 13:41

Reastie yay to size 16s.

I thought I'd post something positive. I have gone a morning without chocolate or picking at the mountain of delicious cheese in the fridge. I have soup for dinner and cottage pie tomorrow.

Thank you all for the talking to. I've had a word with myself and I'm going to do this. You are right. Even if I don't reach my Christmas goal I will feel much better for making the effort than if I just give up. I think I needed the motivation today.

reastie · 22/10/2012 13:49

stealth still can't see your food diary Confused

hair excellent ork re: cheese and chocolate - they are my downfalls too Grin

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 13:58

as you're never going to fit into them again.
That was meant to be supportive, not insulting Blush

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 22/10/2012 14:02

That's weird. Maybe it's an overall setting rather than day by day. Will ahve to have a play around later.

InMySpareTime · 22/10/2012 16:06

I have den pictures on my profile now.
I also have business cards, a hand-sewn story blanket, new stories on my FB site, an updated shortstorylady website, and bought the DCs christmas PJs already. I am a bit tired now though.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/10/2012 08:03

Morning everyone.

That den looks amazing IMST! I so want to have a party in it.

It ended up being a good food day yesterday. Fingers crossed for the rest of the week. I've decided to do Moroccan lamb instead of cottage pie tonight. Yum.

InMySpareTime · 23/10/2012 08:25

You can come and play in the den if you want to.
I'm at a networking meeting this morning, hope it's not too cakey!

reastie · 23/10/2012 08:29

Wow IMST that's amazing! Great use of space in that garden corner. Hope the networking meeting goes OK and there's not too much cake.

Taking DD into town this morning to get a few bits then home before taking her out to a music group, all very exciting not . I'm loving it though - we have 2 weeks for half term as a trial (not quite liking our easter hols being a week shorter but hey ho).

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/10/2012 17:45

I have another question. (Sorry).

To those of you who eat eggs, do they really fill you up? I might boil some to just have for lunches but only if they'll keep me full for a while.

Go on, sell me the idea of eggs......

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/10/2012 18:18

But do they keep you full eighty?

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 23/10/2012 18:32

I always feel full after eggs, but the problem I have is it has the same effect on me as bread - makes me lazy.

I feel much better slightly hungry and on little food if that makes sense.

Shame I can't stick to it!

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/10/2012 18:34

Ooh. I don't need a reason to be lazy but full is good. I'll maybe give it a go. I like the fact that eggs are so quick and easy.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 23/10/2012 18:46

I scramble my breakfast egg in a bowl with salt and pepper. I wouldn't say I'm stuffed aftee eating it but for the calories I think they are filling, yes.

Brilliant. Thank you. I think I'm going to give it a go for lunches.

I took myself off to a local National Trust property this morning and had an hours walk watching the deer rutting (they are so noisy) and looking at the trees. No dcs with me and it was bliss. It set me up beautifully for the day and gave me loads of energy. It also gave me some peace to put my thoughts in order iykwim. I highly recommend it. :)

InMySpareTime · 24/10/2012 07:19

I have salmon and pasta for lunch today.
I defrosted it for me and DS to have for dinner, then realised it had soft cheese on top (DS is milk allergic), so split it to have for last night's dinner and today's lunch.
He had beans on toast instead.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 24/10/2012 07:43

That sounds nice :)
I'm still sticking with the diet, easy while I'm at work. I need to see some weight come off. That will really help.
