New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Happy MM everyone!

Well done Bonkey and IMST

Sounds like a busy week LV care to elaborate on the photoshoot? Curves gym used to threaten me with before and after pics!

Went to the gym yesterday and just as I was almost done I was conned into taking part in the new circuit class!

I was paired with a very fit-looking older gentleman, and we had to do 30 the 45 second sets of kettlebells, russian twists with weights, press up dumbbell rows, cycle kicks on those ridiculous half balls, powerbag slides, planks (easy!) and viper deadlifts.

I was well chuffed with myself and then as soon as Iwas home and showered we headed of for a lovely family trip to Mugdock Country Park for a 3 mile walk!

It was great to review the photos at the end of the day to see a fairly trim looking me!

Negated all that good work with a Chinese Feast!

Onwards and upwards, 11st 4lb... Could the 10's be in sight?

sleepychunky · 08/10/2012 13:30

Hi everybody, remember me? It's been so long since I posted it's gone from TIO
Anyway, I haven't posted much because I've been ill and busy - tonsillitis all of last week and then trying to catch up with things once I was back at work. I have carried on being good though and logging on MFP, although being ill meant I couldn't go to zumba last week (and I didn't go the week before either because I hurt my back).
BUT, I am better now and going to zumba tonight. The scales yesterday morning were smiling at me but then we went out for a pub lunch for my mum's birthday. I haven't weighed today as it was all too hectic with the DCs this morning, but I will weigh tomorrow and update my entry on the spreadsheet then.
Sorry I haven't read the whole thread since I was last on but there are a lot of good results, well done everyone! Hope I can post something good for me tomorrow as well - I need 3lb loss to make 2 stone in total and that would be absolutely amazing, but I'm not holding my breath.

MrsPnut · 08/10/2012 21:52

Evening, I haven't been in here for ages. I put on 4lb last week and am back to what I weighed at the beginning of September. I have had a rubbish weekend too eating and drinking loads so don't hold out much hope for losing weight this week either.
I wanted to lose another stone and a half before Christmas but I have lost all momentum.
Well done to all the losers and some oomph for the waverers.

KatoPotato · 08/10/2012 22:35

Hey sleepy and pnut! Good to see you back! Look forward and not back! You know you can do it!

reastie · 09/10/2012 07:24

Hi all

kato I feel tired just hearing about your class!!

lollipop photoshoot at the gym???? Hmm

Hello sleepy and mrspnut . Mrspnut hope you get your motivation back soon, shall we call today 'time to get back to it tuesday' ?

remember a couple or so weeks ago I got my engagement ring on for the first time since 20 weeks pg? Well, the wedding ring fits on now which is half a size smaller Grin . Unfortunately I can't wear them both together as my finger is still too fat for that, but I am so pleased to wear my wedding ring again. Next goal is to wear them both Grin

MilkshakeMaker · 09/10/2012 07:31

Hey everyone, twas my birthday yesterday so not a good start to the week but weighed myself yesterday morning and was 11st9 so least it did it BEFORE I ate more able than I should have. And have a week to get rid so I'm hoping it'll be fine.

Nochips, how are you finding slimming world?

Welcome back Sleepy and MrsPnut, it doesn't matter what you've been up to its the fact you've come back here that counts, you could have just given up and not bothered but you didn't.

Good luck for the week everyone, and could someone please update me on spreadsheet pretty please, my phone won't let me....aol you

MilkshakeMaker · 09/10/2012 07:32

Aol? thank

Oblomov · 09/10/2012 07:59

Hello everyone. No change here. Stil 10 10.
I have been trying hard , well I say 'hard', in the last 3 weeks, but nothing.
I have severely cut down on crisps chocolate and wine. I have had a few but nothing like I used to. NO difference. I just don't get it.
Even my 'attempts' at severly cutting down my calories, ( a 5:2 'kind of attempt' has made no difference.
God this is painful.
Off to catch up with thread.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 09/10/2012 09:44

Hello, it's gone a bit quiet in here.
I hope we're all keeping our motivation through cold season. I have found my fitness and endurance is much better without the weight I've lost so far, that's really spurring me on, anyone else found that?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 10/10/2012 12:22

I'm still here :) still trying. Went out for a meal with a friend yesterday and really tried tk make good choices

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 10/10/2012 12:26

I'm here too.

Trying!

Been ok, not great but ok! I will muddle through!

Lardbean · 10/10/2012 14:09

I'm here just quietly lurking Blush I don't want to moan and bring others down just feeling a bit grim at the huge amount I have to shift. The food side is fine I'm well within the calories I want to have but I'm struggling to get my arse in gear with the exercise side of things.

TheOneWithTheHair · 10/10/2012 15:16

I'm hiding. I'll be back on it soon. :)

reastie · 10/10/2012 15:43

It seems everyone is lurking/hiding!

lard don't be disheartened about how much you want to lose - you've managed over 20lbs so far - that's amazing. Just take every lb as it comes and slowly it will add up to stones etc. I'm 3 stone down to my 5 stone target. 5 stone to lose seemed to impossible and huge I just got scared off and thought there was no point in trying as it was such a huge amount I'd never manage it, but I'm past half way now.

Am going to write today and quite possibly tomorrow off too - I have a fasting blood test tomorrow and I'm really no good until I've had breakfast so I'm going to eat more than normal tonight to keep me going through the blood tests, and then I'll probably end out eating more again tomorrow through overhungryness. They've been trying to get me to have a fasting blood test for about 2 years but I've always refused as I feel really ill when I don't eat before I go out....it seems they've now cornered me into it Confused

Lardbean · 10/10/2012 16:23

Thanks reastie

sleepychunky · 10/10/2012 21:01

Hi everyone, just checking in again. Can I share a couple of nice moments with you? Today at work my colleague said that I looked loads thinner than last week (I'm not, I've stayed the same) so that was really nice. The other thing was that I bought an XL raincoat on ebay which arrived today - it's from Gap and I've only ever been able to wear XL stuff before. It's really nice but it is wayyyy too big for me (I'm going to keep it though as it will see me through the autumn/winter). So although I feel a bit as though I've plateaued (so close to 2 stone loss), I'm obviously looking better and fitting into smaller sizes. Hooray!

Hi all,

Just come back from the fasting blood test - got hooted at 3 times for bad driving so I know I must have been off with low blood sugar! You were suppose to not eat anything for 14 hours before, but I only managed 11.5 Blush I didn't tell them though . Hope it doesn't make any difference. It was for various diabetes tests and stuff eighty as I drink about 7 litres of water a day and realised this wasn't normal Shock - GP wants to rule out diabetes.

sleepy thanks great news

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 11/10/2012 09:07

Hope you're ok, that sounds like a very long fast!

" I love being more in control, almost more than actually weighing less."
Completely agree with this. Because as long as you know you're in control of whether your weight goes up, down or stays the same, losing weight doesn't seem so daunting.

I was 11s9 this morning, very pleased with that. Just want to continue to lose slowly.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 11/10/2012 11:17

Just looked at my log and I'm actually only 1lb lighter than my pre binge weight! Ah well, I'm making progress which feels good.

Yay to 11st something - this time next week!

reastie · 11/10/2012 16:58

Well, I've had a rubbish day with the food, but it's no surprise as I'm a mass of PMT hormones and the starvation blood test has made me all off kilter with meals and I've been super hungry. Just went on MFP to log all I'll eat today convinced I've eaten huge amounts and pretty much on the money calorie wise Grin , was a nice surprise, so haven't been quite as awful as I thought!

kato haven't been on MFP for a while so don't know how long ago you put your profile piccie up but wowee is that your start and current photo? You look like a different person! You've done incredibly well. I think I looked around your size on my start weight so maybe I can follow you down to your current slim figure Grin

stealth good work

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 11/10/2012 17:05

Rubbish day!
Time of the month, bloody cold and a sleepy emotional ds has resulted in too much buttery toast and biscuits!

I seem to be going really up and then really down at the momnet, must find that happy medium!
