New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Me too. I'm home and I'm in! Xx

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 14:23

Sorry. I had to remove a radiator and two skirting boards.

Mmmm chocolate, peanut butter cheesecake. :)

Ok it's really simple. It won't turn you into Jessica Ennis or anything but it will get you moving.

For every piece of junk mail you get through your door you have to run up and down your stairs twice. So if you only get one it's an easy day but if you get five or more it's going to be tougher.

For those in single storey dwellings, (love that phrase) you do 5 squats for each piece of junk mail.

What do you think? Easy enough to do I reckon.

reastie · 19/09/2012 14:27

I have stairs but with stairgates precariously placed at either end that will stop me from getting a good run up Grin so I think I'll have to plump for squats. Now, do I count the boden catalogue as junk mail...

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 14:32

reastie have you ever bought anything from it? Grin If you have it's not junk unless it was years ago.

If you haven't, get squatting. Grin

reastie · 19/09/2012 14:35

I am a massive slight boden addict, so I did definitely feel a little excited at the prospect of flicking through it Blush so I'm thinking that means it's not junk...but I did 5 squats anyway [dedicated]

Just seen the junk mail challenge, I'm in starting tomorrow (if my lack of co ordination sees me fall over my own feet, tumble down the stairs like a sack of potatoes and break my neck...I will blame TheOneWithTheHair) Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 17:50

No no no! You can't blame me. You've been training for this almost your whole life. Grin

InMySpareTime · 19/09/2012 17:50

Finished gardening! 7 bin bags and a tuff tub chopped up, still more than half left to sort, I'd say that's a good day. MFP put me massively in negative calories, even after dinner and cake. At least adding dinner got my average for the week back above zero, that looked odd. I am quite tired now
I'll do the post thing tomorrow if I haven't totally seized up by then

Flojo1979 · 19/09/2012 20:02

Just put the kids to bed so can't run up and down the stairs but as I've just got some junk mail bloody local Indian, can't eat curry cos it's too fattening and now I have to exercise too!

LardBean · 19/09/2012 20:04

Squats it is then! Grin

sleepychunky · 19/09/2012 20:54

Hello all, what a good idea! I am junk mail central - at least 2 and sometimes as much as 5 bits every day. Question - do the adverts which fall out of the local paper count as well, or only the stuff the postman delivers?? hoping they don't count
I am feeling a bit down as despite being under 1200 cals every single day for 2 weeks, I haven't lost anything at all. It's nearly leading me to the chocolate but I am so far resisting

LollipopViolet · 19/09/2012 21:10

Hmmm, I've had an OK day today.

Had the lovely news that my friend's 1 yo DS is walking - wait, that's not good when I have to watch him while she does stuff, is it???

It'll help the weight loss, I suppose...

Oh, and my scales settled on 12 stone 10 today, but I'm ignoring it til Monday.

Gym tomorrow, and I think another meeting with the evil elliptical machine is in order, as well as maybe the bike, rather than my usual 60 minute treadmill endurance session. And some weights too.

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 21:10

sleepy I just did the local free paper as one bit. I think you can too. If we all get fitter maybe we should take the adverts as separate then.

Don't go for the chocolate! It will show on your next weigh in I'm sure. You've done well resisting so far so don't let yourself down. :)

InMySpareTime · 19/09/2012 21:26

I got the local paper but will do the stairs tomorrow I've done enough today, my fingers even ache typing this I had better have lost some weight after all thisGrin.

nochipsthanks · 20/09/2012 07:30

Oooh! I like that challenge. Only one piece of junk mail yesterday- local carpet cleaning company. So, as soon as I get my butt out of bed-- get dressed I will do it!

Hope the post brings lots of junk today.

nochipsthanks · 20/09/2012 07:31

buggering strike outs. How do you do a whole sentence? is it sentence then again?

nochipsthanks · 20/09/2012 07:33

anyway, I am having an epic motivation fail too. Yesterday ate a huge prawn may baguette then had a fried piece of cod for lunch. Back on today. Today i aim to just not go wild with eating. That is all.

Think Thin Thursday?

reastie · 20/09/2012 07:48
Grin

lollipop wow - you do 60 mins on the treadmill - impressive.

nochips yes you do it like this only without the spaces after the --

InMySpareTime · 20/09/2012 08:04

I'm thinking thin.
Today is a quiet day for me after yesterday.

BonkeyMollocks · 20/09/2012 08:11

Morning. Still here and lurking!
My laptop us playing upand if i post regulary from my phone then sooner or later the typos will take over Hmm

You are all doing so well!

Im in with the junk.mail challenge . Squats for me!

Good few days here! Hoping I can keep it up and see a less on Monday!

Will be back later. Have good days!!

sleepychunky · 20/09/2012 08:25

Morning all! I should post about not being motivated more often - the scales this morning showed 2lb loss so 24lbs in total now, exactly 2 months since I started Smile
Hope you all have a good day today - I'm in loads of pain after pulling something in my lower back yesterday morning when getting DS2 into his car seat, but I hope it gets better as I can hardly move. May I be excused the junk mail challenge until I am better?

reastie · 20/09/2012 08:53

OK, should you check the spreadsheets and see my start weight has just increased - it's because I've increased it so it's the same as my MFP starting weight - thought I may as well calibrate all my results and it makes me feel much better to see I've lost an extra 8lbs

sleepy how rubbish - I pulled my back twisting a while ago and it was agony for a couple of days - I will never twist awkwardly to reach a glass of water from my bedside table Blush

I feel like I'm coming down with a cold Sad - who was it who was breathing germs in the thread yesterday? mrspnut you'd better not have given your lurgy to me!

littlemissstan · 20/09/2012 09:55

I like the challenge! I live it a flat mind you, so will have to brave the public stairs and the stares of my (mostly rather elderly) neighbours... I was so good and didn't even lick the spoon when making the cheesecake, which is now sitting in the fridge ready for delivery to my friend this evening. The good news is that after starting the 5:2 thing this week I seem to have lost 3lbs overnight...

civilfawlty · 20/09/2012 09:56

Anyone here on a low carb diet? I'm eating out with a friend later who is, and wondering which is the best cuisine to opt for? Thanks!
