New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Woo Hoo! Reached a stone lost today! Rather hungry but Woo hoo anyway Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/09/2012 11:57

Happy birthday to your cub stealth. Three is a brilliant age!!

How is everyone doing today. I know it's only Tuesday but I think I'm doing ok. Dh is out 3 nights this week so food is not difficult. He's slowly getting used to the fact that I eat less than him but he's not got his head around 'healthy' yet.

Kato I hope today is ok for you and goes as well as can be expected.

InMySpareTime · 18/09/2012 12:55

I'm happy, DS gave me one of his drum cakes for lunch, I had homemade (dairy free) fish pie, and it was nice, but now my mouth is all cakey and I can still taste icing, I feel lovelyGrin.
Is it sad that I'm really looking forward to a long soak in the bath after I get the DCs to bed?
Hair how did your Pilates class go?

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 13:59

thanks IMST :)

Woo hoo LardBean, that is fantastic!

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/09/2012 14:11

Oh! My! God! Shock

Pilates is so hard. I am really going to hurt tomorrow. I did ok but I can't sit up slowly without using my arms. Blush

Just had Belvita and a cereal bar today. Cottage pie for dinner. :)

LardBean · 18/09/2012 14:13

Thanks Stealth, hope you are enjoying the cub's birthday.
InMySpareTime not sad at all, me too!

reastie · 18/09/2012 16:09

Please will someone hold my hands down? There is a chocolate chip muffin in the kitchen with my name on. It's gluten free left over from a lesson earlier (I'm gluten free so never ever eat cakes). It's been so long since a gluten free cake has been in sniffing distance from me I'm really struggling. I might have to force DH to eat it.

Due to go to the gym after work today but epic fail as AF is literally gushing today (sorry for TMI) and I really can't face exercise. I haven't been able to sit down in my lessons as it all gushes when I stand up again Blush . Not good. Parents evening tonight too - don't think I can manage that one standing up Wink

lardbean well done you

kato hope everything has gone OK

stealth and IMST happy birthdays to your households

lollipop lovely photo. I love your dress btw Grin

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 16:16

Reastie are you likely to be able to 'afford' it later on?

OP posts:
reastie · 18/09/2012 16:21

No! I must resist!! I've asked DH to eat it - he didn't want it but I forced him!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 16:26

Lol! Well done at the willpower. I always think muffins look lovely but never live up to expectations - always a bit dry. So you wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as you think you would anyway

OP posts:
LardBean · 18/09/2012 16:33

Well done Reastie and MrReastie!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 16:51

Well, having congratulated you on your willpower, I've been picking at dds birthday cake. Yoiu know , just neatening up the edges etc. I WILL log it.

Hi, sorry I did my usual, join and run!
I must try harder, I lost a stone by being really ill for a couple of wks and crept it back on again.
My trouble is I've somehow associated watching tv with eating and now its like I can't sit down to watch tellys without popping in the kitchen for things to eat, regardless of what it is. Then I have days when I think, sod it, I'm fat, might as well buy that cake/crisp/dessert and enjoy it.

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 18:00

"sod it, I'm fat, might as well buy that cake/crisp/dessert and enjoy it"
I had years of that :( but you have proved to yourself that if you eat less you can lose weight (though I'm glad you're no longer ill of course!). By Christmas you could have lost a stone fairly easily but you do have to eat less, starting now.
(take that as a kick up the bum you didn't ask for, and if you didn't want it, just ignore me :o But that sounded so familiar. I always promised I'd lose weight at some point in the future, but that point never magically arrived by itself).

Well done Reastie.

I am so ill that I should be ringing a bell and shouting unclean, unclean wherever I go - but I will drag myself into work as it's only my 3rd day.

I had a couple of glasses of wine and some chocolate last night for medicinal purposes.

InMySpareTime · 19/09/2012 07:29

Good morning all, today will be a good exercise day, I'm gardening at work, cutting back all the shrubs and climbers etc. 7 hours of gardening should come to a fair few calories, I may have a Wine later.
Hair how are you feeling after Pilates? Do you have the classic "punched in the stomach" feeling now? That shows you've done it rightSmile.

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 07:54

Morning all. I'm not going to the gym today I'm cleaning my house instead.

Hope you feel better soon MrsPnut.

Flojo have you thought about learning to knit to keep you occupied in front of the telly? If you keep your hands busy you may not want to snack.

IMST everything aches!!

Keep focused today everyone! :)

Flojo1979 · 19/09/2012 08:18

Thanx stealth a kick up the bum is just what I do need!

TheOne I did actually learn to knit for this reason but then I chose something complicated to do and found I couldn't knit and watch tv at same time so its been sat in a bag for months.
I must buy some wool for a scarf!

I tried Pilates last wk, I thought it might be nice gentle stretches, oh how wrong could I be! It really hurt!

Hope u r feeling better soon MrsPnut

Morning everyone - No Wibble Wednesday!

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 13:01

Right you lot. I think it's time for a group challenge.

In the spirit of moving more I have a challenge for you ALL!

It doesn't require any special equipment except a letter box, clothes or DVDs. You can do it at home. It changes everyday and you don't need to make special time for it.

If anyone's interested ill let you know what it is. Grin

nochipsthanks · 19/09/2012 13:06

I'm in!

InMySpareTime · 19/09/2012 13:17

Ok, but not today, I have so far spent 3.5 hours ripping out an enormous clematis at work. I can't take much more exercise today.

TheOneWithTheHair · 19/09/2012 13:33

Haha. IMST I text your dh before to see if he could help me take a radiator off in dd's room. He said yes but volunteered you as you are around earlier than him.

It's a good job I got impatient and did it myself. It was bloody heavy! Grin

littlemissstan · 19/09/2012 14:01

Intriguing theone - do tell :)

I am on my second fast since deciding to do the 5:2 thing. Feeling surprisingly ok, though I have the mega challenge tonight of making a cheesecake my friend has requested for her birthday dinner and not licking the bowl/my fingers/any handy surface. Chocolate peanut butter cheesecake at that...

reastie · 19/09/2012 14:03

I'm intregues theone too - please tell all - I'm in Grin
